Just want to see if anyone else is seeing this problem. So my throttle grips will change the binding during flight. It happens on multiple aircraft in game (A-10C, M2K), and for different programs (SRS, Voice Attack, Discord). It’s just the grips themselves, the base is fine and doesn’t have the same issue. Someone suggested it being a short in a wire, but why would both grips be affected, and the bindings will just change they will still work just not how it supposed to. I reinstalled the drivers and firmware. The only thing I didn’t do was change USB ports. Anyone else have this issue?

External fuel tanks don't refuel during aerial refueling
AMEDooley replied to atonium83's topic in Resolved Bugs
I found the same problems after the new patch. Can refuel external tanks as long as fuel remains in the tanks, but once they are gone they will not refill. Only tested in MP -
It also reflects inside the intake on both the Harrier and the M2K

A little bit more about my time and history, I was first in VFA-97 and then VFA-125/122. I was at VFA-125 during the merge with VFA-122. Fun times. I worked on Lot 10-12’s at 97 and the Lot 8-27ish at 125/122. As for different procedures for different squadrons, it’s kind of right. So all most all procedures were standard, such as engine start up as you have to follow the Pub. The APU was used for all engine start ups, unless it was an FCF Flight, crossbleeding the engine was only a check after engine swaps or the jet was down for 30 Days. However some of the smaller procedures would be tailored to the squadron with a waiver from the wing. For example, when I was in 97 we didn’t go to the boat, so we did only a three down, no launch bar, during launches. Also some squadrons would forgo the launch bar check on the beach because they were afraid it would fail in the down position. The engines do seem a little fast on start up and EGT is slightly off IIRC. but we are talking like 10 degrees or so off. Rule of thumb was EGT should be about what N2 was x10. So pretty darn close. That’s a useful tip to identify a hot start before the EGT gets too hot. The cold bit that Wags was talking about was referred to as an exerciser bit. And we really only used it on cold days to warm up the hyd system. So in Lemoore, not very often. But it’s good to see it included. But like I said I have the launch procedure down cold, and could still do it to this day on and A-D. Same for the Sailor’s Creed for that matter lol.

But I am glad to see them turn on the DDI’s and HUD after engine two start up. That’s how I was taught for LPT

So I was a plane captain for six years and I’ve been watching Matt do the start up and I just saw a YouTube video of the training and I can tell you some of it is wrong. Mostly with the FCS Bit during launch. You don’t do the bit with the flaps in Auto, you start it with Flaps at Half. The only reason why you put the flaps up prior to the bit is for the PC to check Hyd servicing levels. Once Hyds have been checked or filled then it’s flaps to half followed by the Bit. After the Bit is complete then it’s flaps to auto for flight control surface checks (nose up, nose down, roll left, roll right, rudder left, rudder right). Then it’s Flaps to half again for four down, final checks, pitot heat checks, Nose Wheel Well MMP Code checks, and finally four up. Just in case anyone ever wanted to know. I’ve got the procedure seared into my brain for all enterity, thanks Navy lol! I’ve never seen a Bit done during launch with the Flaps in Auto. Phew got that off my chest.

I think the most important thing to be implemented after Wednesday is the A2G radar. Everything else can wait.

I need a VFA-97 skin

Framerate improvement suggestion to the devs

It didn’t do anything for me. -
Framerate improvement suggestion to the devs
AMEDooley replied to Gryzor's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Will do once I get home. -
So I did what you suggested but it didn’t fix the problem. But the good news is I figure out what the problem was, it was my squadrons mission. I can do any other mission just fine, with 35-45 FPS with high setting so thanks for the help everyone, it was most appreciated
-
I’m not sure what that would do since it was a clean install. But I’ll try it.
-
So I’ll do a repair on my game and see if that helps anything, but I did take off and I’m still getting only 15-25 FPS. THis is quite frustrating as I’ve been jonesing for DCS for the last 5 months.
-
So I did a clean install when I got back. I deleted everything and started fresh. I don’t have any applications running in the back ground outside of Oculus, not the tool tray just the application to run the HMD, SRS, and Voice Attack. None of which should effect my frame rates. I haven’t taken off yet so let me see if it’s just an on the ground thing or not.
-
I have I-5 motherboard, 32gb of ddr4 ram, and a 1080ti. I should not be getting that bad of frame rate, let alone one that won’t change no matter the setting.
-
I just got back from a six month deployment and before I left I was getting 35-45 FPS with moderately high settings. I was using DS the whole time as it was so much nicer. But now in 2.5 I’m getting 20 FPS max no matter the settings. All settings on High 20 FPS, all settings on low 20 FPS. Something is seriously wrong.

125 was decommissioned while I was stationed there. It merged with 122 and it became the same type of squadron as 106, super and legacy. The two 35 RAGs are 101and now the recommissioned 125.

I was just about to recommend the Slaw RX pedals. They are about as close as you can get to the A-10, F-5, F-16, and F-18’s rudder pedals. I prefer that set up than the MFG crosswinds and those are more like WW2 rudder pedals from what I’ve been told.

Clean Installation of 2.5
AMEDooley replied to gizmo's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Yes you can do that. I plan on doing that same thing once I get back home. But be aware it’ll take a long time to do it. -
So here is my two cents. I worked on F-18 canopies in the Navy for seven years and I can tell you, yes all canopies have small amounts of micro/fine scratches in them. However crazing is something completely and they are rare. What DCS is trying to do is have the micro/fine scratches in the canopy. Howerever the effect isn’t realistic nor are the reflections. They are really bad at night as well. This needs to be addressed and I’m sure it will be. But a quick fix would be to allow the option to remove the reflections and scratches.

I believe Skatzilla is working on a Super Hornet for the game. He would be the one to ask.

You shouldn’t be using a way point that way anyway. Fly the airplane instead of connecting the “dots.” It too me a long time to break that habit in the A-10C

Why doesn't heat blur work for me?
AMEDooley replied to Vampyr's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
The effect was there when I last played on the A-10C -
I love DS night flying. It’s actually dark. 1.5 or DS off it makes the night way too bright. The lighting needs to be fixed to give off more light but it’s far more realistic than 1.5/DS off.

Using "throttle for GS and stick for AOA" when landing
AMEDooley replied to LJQCN101's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
This is so my favorite thread! I need more popcorn. So I was in the Navy and I can tell exactly who know what they’re talking about and who doesn’t as it pertains to naval ops. I was not a pilot but I worked on Hornets for 7 years so I know the jargon. Just trust the Pilots, Neo and ttaylor, they know what they’re talking about.
