  1. That’s exactly what I think. Spot Buckeye! It’s not so much as how dark t is, merely the light off lamps and city lights. Give ED a bit I’m sure it’ll get cleaned up. Great video by the way.
  2. I thought this video would help illustrate my point on how dark it is at night. I do agree that the lights need to be brighter in DCS and need to reflect off of clouds a bit better, but with regards to how dark flying at night is, I think they’ve done a great job.
  3. I work on a flight line at night, and guess what? It’s dark. Really dark. This isn’t a bug, this is how light works. I will say that the street lights do need to be tweaked a bit as they’re just a tad dark, but night time is suppose to be like that. Without DS on you might as well be flying during the day as it’s too bright. That is unrealistic. You’re going to have to learn IFR flying my friend. As for the lighting in the cockpit, yes it is too bright and needs to be adjusted for VR. But it is an FC3 aircraft so I highly doubt they will change that. As to making it red, the F-15 doesn’t have red backlighting so why would you want that in the game. This is a sim after all.
  4. Actually it’s really simple. The new NVG system is identical to Frenchy’s mod and it’s just a couple lines in the code that dictate how big the NVG’s take up on the screen. You just need to add a slider to scale it in the options menu which will be more difficult. But the actual size change is relatively easy.
  5. Awesome!!! I cannot wait for this one. I’m hoping it’ll be out before I get home !
  6. Just the sound of ECS and air across the windscreen.
  7. Vaziani my squadrons base for combat ops! Of course I’ll take a cross country tour with a couple of AAR hits and an attempted trap.
  8. I’m not going to mess with any campaigns until after 2.5 has a chance to squash the bugs well enough. Not to mention I’m on deployment and don’t have my rig anyway. Easy to keep that promise lol.
  9. I like reading people who aren’t, specifically USN F-18, pilots argue about what is trained and how to do something with people who most definitely were USN 18 pilots lol. Quite amusing. Me I’m gunna listen to Neofighter since, well, he did it for a living with the USN. Lol
  10. That’s closer to what I used, ours was up to date so it would have been circa 2008. I think the problem might be if it was 18AC or 18AE. I can’t rmember for the life of me which one it was
  11. I was a low power turn licensed maintainer on Hornets, the NFM-500 is the start up, flight, and emergency checklists.. That document is no where near complete. I had to use that checklist every time I did a LPT.
  12. I’m hoping BD or MapleFlag gets involved for the training and campaign. I loved the Mirage training campaign and the MapleFlag IQT-CMR training campaigns. Very well done. I think ED would be wise to let them handle it.
  13. This NFM 500 isn’t complete it starts on page 25. There’s no procedures. It should be just like a dash one for the Air Force.
  14. So I think the OP is undervaluing NTTR. I’m in the 476th and we use the map for training. We have all the ranges set up accurately. These ranges are incredibly useful for training in a low risk, low threat environment. And to be able to do it with real world procedures is very useful. I cannot stress how using the ranges has increased my abilities. Also, the group made the asset pack and mission file free for everyone to use. Head on over to our website and check out the download section.
  15. I care less about a version upgrade and more about an update to a better standard. Meaning the model, mostly the cockpit, is very out of date aesthetically. From head placement and what not they could do to update the A-10C cockpit for sure.
  16. Hey BD awesome news. If you haven’t already, take a look at the VMAT training syllabus that’s floating around. That’ll give you exactly what’s taught at the RAG for new pilots. It’s been very interesting to read.
  17. I’m with you Eddie! Yet another challenge one has to deal with while flying.
  18. If they added Fallon they could do it.
  19. Correct, the wires on bases are for emergency use only.
  20. What?!? No pilot exchange program for the A-10C Snoopy? Man the Marines got the short end of the stick on that one lol.
  21. The price was raised also due to the Tarwa and the KC-130. So an extra ten bucks for two more assets is perfectly okay.
  22. Big difference in what you’re doing with a Hot Pit and that video. That plane was a MIL power and the ABE messed up with how he was suppose to move away from the air plane. All most all jets at idle will not suck anyone up. I’ve seen butterflies fly into intakes and fly right back out. So don’t take that video as what would happen in a Hot Pit situation. Plus there is no people on the ground in the sim. Also Marines refuel and rearm all the time with engines running.
  23. I haven’t read that so I don’t know what it says, I was just relaying the info I learn from a book about DS/DS. The pilots were recalling the info. I’m sure what you are spot on with what the TAC-050 says.
  24. So I just got done reading about the Harriers in Desert Shield/Stom. The Mk 20 was a standard load out and was very deadly. It was the choice load out that most pilots wanted. They did have a dud rate of about 10-15% due to the sand being too soft for the bomblets to go off. And they were using them on artilery, APC’s, and tanks. So it’s an ED side of the house problem not the Mk 20 side.
  25. This in so many ways
