So it's basically useless to restrict gamma from DCS if you can still adjust gamma from driver and last but not least directly from the monitor itself, isn't it? DCS server force gamma be like: -
I've notice the same multiple times on Multiplayer server when switching from F-14 to F/A-18. Wrong background stay until you finish the alignment so you can have the map replace the wrong background. In the past I've noticed all the time with the F-14 backward view, but making a quick test trying to replicate, I have like a clean view without tomcat. Not sure if it's related to the tomcat or not, but doing this it's happens at the first attempt. Tested now on latest OB 2.8.8.43704, but it's a quite old bug, not related to the latest OB build null MFD Background.trk

This is the point to me! Remove Liveries it will not solve the problem probably for all the people that is running DCS from relative "small" disk. Compared to other modern (2023) games, the size seams reasonable for what it has to offers. I don't want to be rude, but probably people has to think to upgrade their disks to keep up with the current requirements. Pick up a new disk is like pickup a new module in terms of price, so before adding something new to the own collection, probably it's better to upgrade disk if you don't have enough space, before adding stuff to DCS World

Yes with restart every 6 hours with 24/7 I mean a server that is always open to public. That's why carrier become impredicibile, and if you have other mission or other stuff running in the rest of the map, it's a problem have a carrier that moves "freely" commanded by a script like airboss.

We've tested several times and unfortunately doesn't work very well to be honest for a 24/7 server. Carrier goes all around and it's a kind of "unpredictable" since it's based on players action, and believe me, in 6 hours of server of running time you can find carrier completely to the other side of the map, with new player spawining 200nm away from the actual conflicts. It's nice to have in a relative short squadron mission, and we've used a bit, but for that scope, the mission editor can easily calculate wind speed according to the carrier course and it's done, without using airboss script.

Ciao Sciacud, In questo periodo stavo volando il JF-17 e il 15, il 18 ammetto che non lo tocco da un pò, quindi lascio la parola a chi è più pratico di me su quel modulo, se ha notato magari differenze per il quale magari è più suscettibile alla perdita di info sul datalink. Però sul 17 non ho notato questo strano comportamento. Aggiungo solo una piccola nota a beneficio di tutti gli utilizzatori dei nostri server, all'occorrenza l'AWACS può essere spostato più vicino alla propria area operativa, avendo cura magari di lasciarlo un pò arretrato difeso da qualche postazione missilistica che qualche bravo elicotterista ha predisposto. Per farlo basta creare un nuovo marker in mappa nella posizione desiderata, dargli il nome AWACS e poi mettere a icona il marker, dovrebbe apparire il messaggio in alto a destra di conferma che l'awacs si sta spostando verso il punto desiderato.

I'm not familiar with Splashtop WiredX Displaysoftware, but the only explanation that makes sense is that the software makes another connection to send traffic to the tablet, and somehow that is causing problem to DCS. just check, when you run the software and the display is on, if you have another connection in your network center.- 1 reply

Hi @Tusky, As a server admin I can guarantee that make carrier ops enjoyable within the complex scenario of a 24/7 server is really challenging. BTW what I normally try to do is set a linear path for the carrier, or with a really small variation in terms of degree of its path in my server missions. Then I have a script that on each server reboot, randomize the cloud preset and assign a random wind speed between 0 and 5 m/s ( less then 10 knots ) and a random wind heading but between +/10° maximum using the carrier heading as reference. Hopefully adding wind speed and carrier speed that is set to 15 knots, you should have at least a minimum of 15knots of headwind, to a maximum of 25 knots if you are really lucky and get exact wind direction among the Flight Deck. In the worst scenario you will have a crosswind component that should not exceed 2.6 knots. But it's not always possible due to map constrain, no long enough path for the lifespan between each server reboot and so on. This is what we've done so far in the server/map where we can, it's a trade-off of course, but trying to make our server fun to play for everyone, and not to much boring since you can experience day by day different condition, and not always the same weather. I know it's not perfect and we're still open to suggestion and improvement If you're EU located (for ping) and wanna try, our server are called like this: [ITA] Banshee | <server name> , and the best one to try carrier ops and this weather script is PersianConquest. It was just my personal supposition based the latest information available at that time, and the fact that normally developers tends to support just one kind of SuperSampling technology for several reason. I'll be super happy if ED can support both technology, and maybe () we'll have both technology available in the near future

Probabilmente allora era qualcosa legato allo scheduler e all'architettura della CPU ( con P core, ed E core ), guarda ci litigo pure io a lavoro col portatile nuovo che ogni tanto fa cose strane con W10, ma per policy aziendali me lo devo tenere così. Dai, menomale che hai risolto allora Buon volo.

Da questo ultimo log sembra un errore di OpenXR, non ho gran memoria di come funziona il rift s che quello del lavoro è ancora scatolato, ma magari vale la pena fare un tentativo passando da steamvr ( se ce l'hai installato chiaramente ) in teoria dalla 2.8 la modalità di funzionamento "preferita" dovrebbe essere OpenXR, ma fare un tentativo con un'altra libreria magari aiuta a capire dove sta il problema.

Actually the DYN works like this: add a plane/helicopter reserved for you at specific airport when you land. As soon as you take off again from that airport the counter go back to the previous value. So if you got killed is ( sadly ) normal that you lost your aircraft "stored" at Al Quasyr. With the server refractory we'll try to improve the helicopter experience. I was thinking to remove the DYN slot concept from helicopter slot, and put slot available for everyone as soon as you take an airport, like what is done right now on the FARP slot. That exception will be applied only for helicopters, I think the DYN slot are a great addition for faster moving jet. So when you have only 20 mins to fly, instead try to make a mission or conquest airport, you can "move" your asset more close to the borders. That was the concept of DYN slot. Of course DYN slots are stored even after server restart To me there is no problem to use English here, maybe in the future we'll take the time to create the server presentation in the multiplayer ENG section of the forum, so all non Italian Pilots will have a place to provide feedback/suggestion. Hi Shot, thanks for reach us and your feedback on the server. We'll try to add DYN slot for F-15E in the next days. ( If you have landed before a jet there, you'll be able to pick up, if not you'll have to land before on that airport ) Please note that Syria is under rework, all the player slot will be moved to north airport,, leaving the room for more dynamic slot from captured airfield. Potrebbe essere un problema legato all'affinity mask e alla tua particolare CPU, visto che intel ha iniziato a creare CPU con architettura "BIG-LITTLE", ovvero affiancando core con diverse performance. Potrebbe essere che in realtà sta piazzando del carico sugli efficency core che sono totalmente inadeguati per eseguire operazioni legate a DCS. Appena ho tempo provo a indagare se c'è modo di fare l'override della maschera di associazione delle CPU e ti faccio sapere, probabilmente sarà poi da capire quale "codice" utilizzare per la tua specifica cpu.

You can directly connect to a server by LAN IP without needing of an internet connection, but the only problem is the license validation that last only 3days, and multiplayer will be disabled when operating in "offline mode" You can use an hotspot just to validate the login, and open the game, then you can turn off the mobile connection, and leave just the LAN connected, or keep it on, since the traffic anyway will be only on LAN, not out and back in over internet between the two computers.

il file è di un'altra sessione credo, non mi ritrovo con gli orari. Considera che se dopo riavvi il simulatore anche solo entrando nel menu di gioco, il vecchio viene einominato in DCS.log.old, e poi cancellato al secondo giro e via così. Guardando il testo che hai trascritto però non trovo nulla di strano, o quantomeno, non di sicuro il problema che ipotizzavo dello scan delle periferiche USB. Magari prova a tenerlo sott'occhio e se ricapita mettine uno aggiornato riportando sempre poi l'orario a cui accade. Vedo un pò di antifreeze.....che capita magari quando si passa da DCS a un'altro software aperto tipo broser o file pdf ( può capitare un click fuori focus a volte in vr, magari è quello che ti frega ? )

is not affecting all ( 4 actually ) instances that I manage. But actually I'm not going to "restart" the server from GUI or in game command, I'm just killing the DCS.exe of the server that I need to "restart", since as soon as an instance "stops", a batch script restart it. The problem occurs after pressing restart server from Local web GUI? -

Just create a new account to run DCS as a server in the second computer. There was a FIX in the past days to prevent more than 5 logins for the same user even for dedicated server, maybe that fix affect also your use case ( that anyway, even if it was usual to work in the past, it was not allowed by Terms of Service ) So basically, you need two different account. -

So basically it's not a DCS problem, but it's something to keep in mind when people face multiplayer list issue: as usual, first things remove any MOD and test it again Maybe just try to add a comment to the download link to reach out the author of the mod, if he can do something about it, or at least we do have a "warning" even in the download page.
