  1. Since these four dashes will expose servers or even worst your client to malicious code execution. If you have de-sanitize mission environment, it's technically possible to look up your drive, and send all the files through socket connection over the internet.
  2. What you can't do is use regular Windows 10/11 to host a software and delivery that software by Citrix/RemoteApp or any other streaming/sharing tech. Run DCS application to host a DCS server is totally compliant with the EULA, since you're not sharing that software itself with the final users.
  3. attach the DCS.log file that you find under saved games folder, only in this way we can help you to find the problem of crash. BTW I think it's not related to the other problem. This is really strange, are you going in multiplayer => new server => adding the mission that you want to play to the mission list, and then start? Please attach the log also after you have loaded the server to understand if something goes wrong.
  5. checking the old log history I have some of them, but just in the instances that is running the "newest" mission, so I guess it's related to some recent added callsign, but not related to VAICOM, but just to the core server itself, so probably yes something related to the ATC when try to use new callsign.
  6. it looks like it's related to the VAICOM add-on? isn't it? As far as I know, nothing changed yesterday, maybe you've just got on a mission where the new callsign are used, and they are not yet supported in VAICOM.
  7. Didn't notice the edit in fact sorry, thanks for reminder. You don't have to worry about the Outbound Rules in the 99% of the case, by default outgoing traffic is always enabled. So yes, you're right, you need to add port only in the Inbound Rules section of the windows firewall. It works in the same way as server when you host a mission from your installation in terms of communication, and firewall/router settings that you need to apply
  8. From log I can see you have Tacview installed, try to disable the recording on your side and see if you have some benefits.
  9. I have several instance running on my server, not just one, that's why I'm using a range instead of single port. If you're running just one instance, one port ( default is 10308 but you can change it) on both protocol ( TCP and UDP ) it's fine
  11. ....io non commento se no mi devono bannare guarda
  12. The easy way probably is to enable External AWACS mode (EAM) on SRS server, and connect the client that is acting as LSO as AWACS. Then open with toggle awacs overlay the panel to set all the frequency that you need. I don't believe with the current LSO implementation there is another "in-game" mode to be able to use it.
2023, The (half) year of the Strike Eagle
  14. To be honest if everything has to run on the same machine, I don't see a real benefits to have two separate installation, the full DCS game client, and the Dedicated server installation. To me it's more reasonable using the same installation of the full client, and run one instance as server ( no-render etc. ), and the other instance running as client.
  15. I spoke about using xbox controller, not crossplay that is totally another topic. The only way that you have to make it "equals" is create a LAN party, everyone with the same setup, that's why the esport born and they make this setup All the rest is bull<profanity>, you can lock people to play only with the same hardware, nice, probably just 2 people in the world can play face to face in a server with this settings, and on top of that you'll not even put them on the same level, since you have the connection to the server that makes difference, that is not the same for both player. People can even abuse of that. LAG switch on Star Citizen is pretty famous/infamous for example, but is not the only game affected. Also DCS has really some strange behavior in terms of sync/de-sync when latency jumps in. So again, to be honest, from my point of view, it's useless feature because it will always be there something different that makes two player on different levels when playing on multiplayer online. If you want pure PVP dogfight compare, the ONLY solution is setup a tournament with two identical setups, with the server hosted locally, nothing else.
  16. to be honest, it's a great thing that this kind of mod doesn't pass IC, otherwise people can have giant dot and pass IC. not good. For sure there will be some tune to do with the DCS core engine to try to make spotting more "balanced" between different resolution, but it's something to me that has to be implemented in the core, it cannot be delegated to a MOD that player can abuse it!
  17. To be honest, as server admin, it's something that sound not good at all. Even if there will be this option in the future, I will never going to set-up a gate like this for my servers. All setups are welcome to join, this should be the spirit of online multiplayer game. As an example, It's like racing game: you can play it xbox controller or cheap wheel set or even the keyboard, while other people can invest thousand of dollars just for the the direct base drive ( without the wheel! ) where they can feel every small bump of the track or feel the loosing of grip in the same instant that is going to happens. What we can do for multiplayer session? NOTHING! No one put a gate that only one specif device can join! So, to me sound really useless feature, and honestly I don't want that ED spend even 1 hour of work on that, while there are tons of other stuff to do
Siamo ( Banshee ) ovviamente interessati a partecipare. Grazie.
  20. not the correct forum section. New version of Reshade include VR support, and yes, based on options that you use, it going to hit the performance according to it. Btw I personally don't like it since it's an external tools and require lot of tuning, but I give their credits to the benefits when see amazing screenshot or video captured with reshade, but personally I'll leave it to video maker that need too tune every graphics aspect, honestly I don't feel the needing of Reshade to enjoy the graphics of DCS.
  21. There is an option that resume mission on player join, should be the following line in the serverSettings.lua under advanced part of the options. ["resume_mode"] = 2, should be also possibile set it directly by the webgui, under advanced settings.
  23. most common cause is that you don't have a public IP address, so your ISP basically put you and others user behind a NATted network. Since ipv4 address are over since years so far, it's a common practice done by many ISP. basically at the same IP address there are connected several users of that provider. Make a call to your ISP to understand if you have a public ip address or not.
  24. Not sure where you're located, if you're in EU you can try our server: [ITA] Banshee | Krasnodar - PvE Based on the Krasnodar Variable attack, this is a PvE server, you can spawn ground mission from radio menu if no others mission are active, or even A/A combat mission. On this server, map settings is set to see everything, and there are label too. It's our "entry level" server. More challenging ( and feature rich ) are based on Persian Gulf and Syria.
  25. What are you talking about? DCS Server doesn't have any embedded webserver
