Even though I'm a naval aircraft guy and would love the B (which opens the doors to the C and to a lessor extent the D) I agree the E would probably make the most sense. Interested to see how Heatblur goes with th Jester AI for the RIO as it would open the door to the potential of the Phantom.

Have run the repair - same result

With the mixing of different period assets (WWII & Modern) I can see it being frustrating trying to sort through all of the ground objects across the different time periods. Future Enhancement (not critical of course) - category selector such as which WWII assets to filter out the unwanted objects.

I had made the same observations in the Early access thread but didn't get a lot of comments. A lot of videos being made are being done at dawn or dusk so the effect isn't as strong as it in the day and looks good. During the day however, a/c like the P-51D have IMHO average looking cockpit panels - I suspect it is to do with the textures as it's not the same in some of the other a/c. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3129877&highlight=oesau#post3129877

There are good aspects to it for sure - but let's see if what the wider group has to provide in feedback with different settings etc to validate if what I'm seeing is setup specific or a general graphics WIP issue. Hopefully soon you'll get to try it out!

Good idea - I'll add it to the bugs section. But to answer the question - yes, have tried the P-51D and the effect is the same - IMHO it looks worse during the day (the cockpit) with the Deferred Shader setting on than it does without. I did also notice though that fps was higher when over large segments of trees when it was turned on.

I've done more testing of settings and interested in others views on the results. I find with the deferred Shading that a lot of cockpit reflections off the meeting canopy rails, the gauges as well as the blacks being washed out (grey) is a little overdone. Also find the gunsight reticle difficult to see against the daylight sky (the sky is too bright).

JGSME / Mods with 2.0/ normandy
Oesau replied to philstyle's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I'm using Diveplanes sound mods in Normandy - no issues -
Is any body else seeing the streaks in the water texture (the light blue water close to the shoreline)? EDIT: turning on Differed Shading removed these streaks in the shallow water

Been doing a few ground strike missions and have to say (as expected) with the amount of trees along the roads and depending on the time of day (for shadows) it's a whole different ball game trying to find the targets!

The e-shop account - yes, correct. I've gotten hold of support and they are assisting (10min to respond to the ticket which was impressive). Thanks for the reply CF

When I click on the Normandy Early Access icon on my desktop I get prompted for my login details - does anyone get this? I enter in my usual account details and I get a 403 forbidden error so can't progress with the installation.
-
Haven't got the email yet with the instructions - though from the backers page I was able to download the web installer. Next challenge is the username and password as I suspect the info is in the email (have tried my usual DCS login and get a forbidden error)

I have to ask about a mirror in the Dora ?
Oesau replied to ctguy1955's topic in DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora
I'll have to dig the post out but I know someone who asked a current WWII warbird pilot about the mirror on the spitfire and they said the vibrations weren't a issue with it (took a photo as well - though concede that shaking would be minimised if the shutter was high). Realise that was a Spit and not a Dora, but it does provide some recent observations from someone who flys a WII warbird (for reference it was from the Temora aviation museum in Australia). -
** DCS: AJS-37 WIP Pre-Release Manual Released! **
Oesau replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Haha - yes Chuck is going to have fun condensing this one! -
Happy New Year! Vyrtuoz & thanks for the teaser - really looking forward to it's release!

The road landing at the end of the Grudge match inspired me to do some practice with another aircraft type (apologies as it's the M2000 - but I had a Swedish skin for it - if another devs aircraft isn't appropriate please remove @Mod). The HUD really makes landing it on the road easy, and the drag chute is very effective.

Grudge Match Series- Round 3: Mig 21 Vs F-5 & AJS-37 Viggen!
Oesau replied to Hook47's topic in Multiplayer
You did a good job considering it's very difficult to keep track of what is going on so thanks for hosting it - really enjoyed the show. Tacview realtime feed (when it is released) might be a interesting element to add to the viewing experience. -
