  1. Exactly that, on the ground it doesn't work that well anyway, I always do it on the flight to the target, the procedure takes less than 20 seconds if you are practiced.
  2. okay do i understand correctly that you achieve 2 different results with the same wind force? Not really, if you know the wind direction and then laser a few feet in that direction you still have a pinpoint weapon. 10knots wind 3,7 CEP for GBU12 should still be possible
  3. best would be a track to see what exactly is happening. but basically, if you know which direction the wind is coming from and especially when it is a bit stronger, you should offset accordingly
  4. Is this a new behavior? I haven't flown a10 with cbu105 for a long time but I don't remember ever having to align it for that long, the cbu105 is also kept up to date by the board GPS.
  5. In solo flights this is not so dramatic, but when you fly with one or more wingmen it simply goes to the point of not being able to use the transmission of targets via data link, the drifts are then simply too large so that the target is either not found or other misunderstandings occur. The drifts among each other add up which leads to chaotic results. Therefore using data link on blueflag for example is not possible or an absolute fun killer, 15-20min start up is not realistic in a blueflag environment. If I make a fast alignment it is too inaccurate. If I do the exact one which takes 15-20 min and then again target approach which also takes another good 20-30min... Has the front in the time already shifted again or one is shot down and spends again 15min with the start up... This is quite frustrating
  6. At the height of the K-041 switch you see once the possibility AC and DM test this out, otherwise upload a track of your situation
  7. It depends. I don't see this as being so dramatic for waypoints. I would still consider 250-500m as tolerable. But if you have 2 helicopters that adds up again, so a precise alignment for the data link use is very important in my eyes. Do you not notice any drifts and how long are your missions when you fly? With the fast alignment I already have strong drifts after 5-10 minutes of combat flight (+ evasive maneuvers).
  8. Do you use the data link panel with your friends often? Unfortunately drifts become noticeable very quickly
  9. The fast(3min) alignment is not intended for combat use, therefore it drifts there also partly very strongly, for combat use the other longer alignments are necessary. I'll have to look at that again, but if you have realistic settings and start the helicopter from cold, you usually don't have any "stored" or anything. EDIT: here there are currently only the realistic settings that simplify the realistic INS behavior in general, but to set the thing to "arcade" is not the question here it is purely about the start up. And there would be another "stand by"option for the editor still desirable
  10. What do you mean exactly? Yes there is a selection in the mission editor but as far as I know this only applies to hot Ka50IIIs. When I start a cold KA50III I am forced to make a clean 15-20min start up, for a combat rdy ins.
  11. And 1 minute after take off you will be shot down and have to start all over again. +1 am also for this special option, 3-5min takes the normal ka50 start up without INS which is perfectly fine. Maybe, you could take as an argument for special option that the ka50III after spawn is connected to a generator and thus the helicopter on standby with combat ready INS alignment.
  12. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/changelog/openbeta/2.8.2.35632/ Green was before red is the current state hope the picture is understandable HE damage was therefore drastically reduced @Flappie interesting, thanks I will do < EDIT: So have tested it, it is the basically the same result when the Blu97 hits the M1A1 Top~9% damage
  13. If you go back a few updates you will notice in the notes that the penetration force has been slightly increased but the HE effect reduced. hence your observations
  14. Well, but the question is also what happens when the hit is direct? If such a thing hits the turret, it will be punctured, what happens to the crew I don't need to mention. In dcs, a direct hit on a T90 on the turret does ~10% damage.
  15. Is the same principle. The tgp caused strong "drifts" before the update and with the GBU38 it could be reproduced best.
  16. 1. How does laser vs radar vs PP accuracy compare? Laser and PP should be the same ingame. i can't say anything specific about the radar, but it's a good question 2. And is there something that needs to be actively done to range with ground radar, or is it automatic? hm I can not say exactly or I do not understand you question correctly, but basically it is always automatic 3. Is the precision maintained if lased/GRd points are saved as markpoints? Should be, therefore yes 4. Is there a recomended technique/range given the limited laser range modeled in DCS? laser Range ist ~16-17nm Marking is still possible without the laser, but it is no longer as accurate. I don't have exact data at the moment but if you are attacking soft targets it should be accurate enough even without the laser.
  17. If you laser the target short with the tgp you get the most accurate coordinates and the bomb has the best CEP. Equivalent to pre plant. Without the laser, the determination of the coordinates with the tgp should become less accurate the further away you are from the target.
  18. At what altitude did you achieve this? Here is a video, which of course is not direct proof because we do not know how the load looks, but at least something to talk about https://youtu. /UPN_SIaZOdk
  19. what hardware do you use? means, what kind of Joystick, thrust lever, pedals?
  20. has all this been tested against AI-controlled aircraft? Note: you can also control these aircrafts yourself and then let the AI shoot at you with the respective weapons in order to thoroughly test the other side as well.
  21. So if this is simulated it is even easier.
  22. Thanks, can you send me the missions file?
  23. Yes not exactly ours but here is a picture. And since our f16 can carry agm88 on the inner pylons.
  24. Would it be possible to create a new short track that shows the behavior?
