Further updates. Decided that I didn’t like using it with the 20cm extension, which meant remounting at a higher point. That was fine, but as I’m using a car seat (without a cutout), the length of the base meant that the grip was uncomfortably far away. The solution being to turn the base amount 90 degrees. Happily, DCS was happy to recognise the axes being exchanged. So, happy with the updated location, back to mapping another 40 aircraft.

Attaching mine into my cockpit took some time, but got there in the end. I've centre mounted it and I'm using a 20cm swam neck extension with a Virpil alpha grip. The easy bit was the Moza software. Fire it up, upgrade it, select the game and an aircraft profile and jump in. The more time consuming job being the re-mapping needed in DCS. Not helped by DCS happily applying it's own ideas on mapping. "Hey, why don't I we use the mini-stick on your Virpil grip as a rudder? Sure, we can see that you have a dedicated set of rudder pedals, but let's do it anyway...". Come on ED, PLEASE give us the option to disable these being applied. Took a Huey and a Spitfire out for a spin. Using the provided profiles, both felt good. The Spit could do we some finessing, as the extension is effectively reducing the torque felt at the grip. Very amusing to see what happens when you stall in a vertical climb, as the controls just loose all weight. The Huey impressed me more, felt really natural (which as I'm NOT a real chopper pilot, is a bit of a weird thing to think). In short, as a unit, seems good. It'll clearly take some tweaking to get the best from it, and we're in early days. Oh, that's interesting, just turned the AB9 off and the stick goes all limp. That's actually really useful as it makes it easier to get in an out of my cockpit seat.

It's here. Can't say I expected that, but I'm certainly not complaining. Just going through the process of re-jigging the aluminium profile frame to be able to securely mount it.

Ooooooooh. Mine has apparently been dispatched today. No excitement here…..

It does appear that their internal comms aren’t the best. All they need to do is replace the statement in the store of “we will dispatch within 10 business days” to “currently unavailable, we’ll notify you”. Its just a point of management of expectations

Be aware that there are several types of SSD. The type you can use is dependent upon the chipset of the motherboard. If you’re running a 7800, chances are that you have at least a B650 chipset. It’s appropriate to check both the chipset AND how many NVME slots you have (the ports on your motherboard that you’ll mount the NVME SSD into). Most 650s have at least 2 slot and will support Generation 4 NVME. Do check the above first. If you have a free slot, the grab yourself an NVME Gen4 SSD. The newer ones have a throughout of upto 7500 Mbps. My suggestion would be at least a 2TB drive. For manufacturers, my personal preference is Samsung, which seem to be reliable. Installation is pretty simple. Download your motherboard manual and it’ll explain the process

nope, and I ordered on the 27th Sept. Probably worth mentioning that I complained about them not meeting their stated dispatch SLA. They gave me a £28 refund and promised to dispatch by the end of Oct.

Well apparently so: To quote Luc: "Strongest CPU Cores in production. There's little doubt that 15th gen Intel's P-Cores will be the fastest at their release date - first benchmark leaks suggest that, even without Hyper-Threading, the Core Ultra 9 P-Cores are as fast as, if not faster than, the Raptor Lake i9 14900K P-Cores with Hyper-Threading (8c/16t). " So the upcoming full release benchmarks should knock our socks off.

I wouldn’t claim to be an expert, but I’m still using OTT and XRtoolkit

A key drawback of wireless is battery life. With my QP it’s at best a couple of hours. Do you really want to be limited to a flight time max based upon the battery? If not, you’ll need a charging cable. Add that, you might aswell have the charging cable also able to pass data.

I don’t know the implications of hyperthreading being dropped on DCS. Having said that, early benchmarks with Arrow Lake is showing it as being slighly slower in games when compared to the Intel 14!series CPUs. Clearly these are early tests, which might not be representative, but it would appear that the Intel option is not going to be the best choice for games.

Please do give us some airfields in Iran and Saudi, even if most of their areas is low res

What about a Spanish version?

It would be great if BigN would be kind enough to create a new sub forum for Moza products, such that we could more easily share those. I do wonder if a good place to put them might be in the user files?

I'm sorry, but I don't see how the fine print helps here. I'm not talking about how long it takes to ship, rather that it's yet to be dispatched and is still in processing. Take another scan at what you've posted and see how that makes any difference to the fact that they'd not met their stated service on dispatching the product.

How is there no info on a map coming to DCS in 2024

The helipads, yes, but as only one of them was added into Iraq, seemed less important than the airbases that we added, from which you could fly helicopters anyway. -

The H3 and H4 basis have been on the Syria map for a while now. Its where a Tornado was shot down in Gulf War 1 whilst trying to disable the airbase -
The MOZA website states that orders for the AB9 will be dispatched within 7 days. As witwas has pointed out, if I buy from a local retailer (who won’t have stock until Nov), I pay £550. If I buy via MOZA, it’s £550 + £90 in postage. So I’m paying extra to buy from MOZA AND they’re avoiding the retailers margin. The only reason I’ve done it is the statement from MOZA about their dispatch and shipping timescales. If they could meet that, I didn’t mind. As is, there’s going to be no benefit to buying from them, so I’m about to cancel my order with them.
-
Well that’s disappointing. I ordered an AB9 directly from MOZA 8 (business) days ago, so am expecting the unit to be dispatched. The order is still showing as processing. It’s worth MOZA remembering that I’ve had to pay extra to have it shipped from overseas, as against via an in country vendor, meaning that they make more profit from a direct sale. I can’t say that it creates a good starting impression

It’s most probably on their priority list. However, when we can use the 3rd Reich version as a temporary solution, it does feel that it would be more important to have say Vulkan enabled

The point of quad views is to put less effort into the boundaries, so it sounds like it’s doing its job. If you don’t like it, disable quad views/foveated rendering. what you’ve just clarified is why eye tracking is important, as it gives normal clarity where you’re looking and less effort where you’re not

That answers my question, thanks. I did tick the dynamic cargo for the airfields, and also found a setting in advanced waypoints about cargo.
