  1. Love it. Spent a couple of hours setting up my controls, conducted a cold start and went for a cruise around. Brilliant module, very very charismatic
  2. Did you request via the crew chief for external power to be enabled?
  3. As per the title. I'm aware of the current "areas of opportunity" that exist with ED and Razbam, so I was pleasantly surprised to see enhancements on the Falklands maps.
  4. Read the manual? ensure that your kneeboards are ready? Have a suitable map scenario in mind of where you fancy staring to fly it
  5. Agreed. After all, I still regularly fly for example the Huey and Harrier, both of which I’ve owned for 6+ years. I can’t think of another 6 year old game that I regularly use.
  6. How many people actually buy modules at full price? Most of mine were either on one of the regular sales, or at pre-release discount. I have nearly everyone module and the only ones I remember paying full price for were the Huey and Nevada. The Huey was because it was my first module and I didn’t know about the regular sales. NTTR was for release 2.0.
  7. I found this and thought that it was a potentially really useful asset: https://www.ww2.dk/lwairfields.html

  8. Just to be sure, when you press the fire button, are you keeping it held down, as against just a rapid click?
  9. I believe that the incompatibility issue (reversed VR axis) is now fixed
  10. Probably easiest to read online material: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/AN/APG-68
  11. I’d love to see both a Ka27 and a Seaking
  12. So far, just one issue. In general, good performance, fairly comparable to Caucasus. This is using a Quest Pro with DFR. Ground textures low, medium draw distance. Have flown the Mig 19, Mig 21 and Viggen at a variety of altitudes. Above 1000', pretty much always 72fps. In the Viggen and on the deck, generally in the 60s. Near the base, a little lower. The issue was towards the end of a 2 hour session in the Migs, when the frame rate dropped to sub 30 fps. The felt like a VRAM memory leak. I changed the Hangar to "black" and I haven't seen another re-occurence as yet. The Hangar is a single file that you drop into the main DCS directory, such that on first loading DCS, you don't see a hangar, it's just empty black space. Apparently it saves VRAM memory.
  13. That looks like ED were obliged to release Kola on a certain date, and pushed it out with a simple hotfix, whilst saving the real update for 2 weeks
  14. Like this? If so, what’s the question?
  15. I currently have an issue, where if I’m below roughly 800’, my frame rate goes to single frames. It seems to affect all of my aircraft (haven’t tried them all). My assumption is that below that altitude, the game engine is asking for additional visual data that is swamping my VRAM, as I fly in VR. I’m very much hoping that the negotiation will resolve itself soon.
  16. Agreed, whilst I love DCS WW2, if ED can’t scale, I’d rather they focus on Cold War and similar aircraft. For all that, would be ace to have a 3rd party give us a serious delivery of WW2 goodness using DCS technology and maps.
  17. I vaguely seem to remember an interview with Matt W, probably 3-4 years ago, where he stated that the warbirds had proved to be more profitable than the jets, as their systems were considerably simpler. Which always made me wonder why ED didn’t build a new dev team to churn them out. Maybe ED were expecting 3rd parties to do it?
  18. No useful suggestions unfortunately, but I can add that I was SP last night and conducted an aerial refuel
  19. I’ve recently updated my flight control mappings for the rather lovely EE. Can I simply copy and paste those control files into the relevant folder for the CE and BE (pilot)? Has anyone done it and had issues?
  20. Might be useful to include a price
  21. Cobra for sure. I did think that ED had suggested that it was in their pipeline for some point in the future
  22. If you buy via Steam, around 30% of the purchase price is going to Steam and not ED. I buy all of my modules stand-alone to optimise the money ED gets such that they can keep developing DCS
  23. One question, what would be the selling point? Il2 already offers that, and can also easily be found on sale regularly. The old marketing adage was to provide something that is one of the following; - First to market - cheaper - better
  24. +1 could this be done as a variant, similar to the move from the Ka-50 to the Ka-50 v3. I’d be happy to cough up extra for it
  25. Having most other modules (including all of the existing choppers), I had a very good think about the Chinook and have decided that it’s a no from me. Not that I don’t want a Chinook. However, I’ve come to the conclusion that the time period I enjoy the most is Cold War. So I’d love a Vietnam suitable version, but a glass auto lots just doesn’t appeal.
