  1. yes, your biggest asset is a small IR signature and that you are hard to spot, anything above 50m and you are doing it wrong. the Gun is more or less the same as in the Mig21 and you can outturn anything but the Sabre (dont know about the Av8)
  2. yes aaaand yes :joystick: you have to change your playstyle when you come from f5/MiG21, but i can be a real beast. You might run into issues with the actial missle/damagemodel situation

  7. as far as i know, there is no difference in the input files between 1.5.8 and 2.5. mind you i never use one of the mod managers

  11. this might be a stupid question, but have you been playing with the released version on serveral end-user run servers to test this?
  12. same here much more stuttering and freezes than befor, basicly everytime something is happening. This update was a step backwards
  13. i have experienced major freezes up to several seconds when ever "something new" happened: first time a Planes dies first time a type of plane Spawns and so on. there is still much work to do @ED! edit: i might add, that did not happen befor the last update. Nothing was changed on my machine or in the settings
  14. its hard to believe anybody would stay on 1.5.8 after 2.5 was hype so much... so dont be mean to people who want to see the new engine. also, there is a differece bewteen bug and not working at all...
  15. i have no idea what you are saying, but it would be nice if you could spawn at the parking space and than taxi to the CAT...like on a real carrier. Unless the USA has invented teleportation :)
  16. that would mean that everyone would have to have the same settings. Drawdistance, texture resolution...hell even screensize. hopefully ED has the wisdom to tackle this issue in a smart way. just preventing the ability to change the setting on the fly might be a start. But the balance issue remains, AI can hide and shoot out of the woods. This discussion was born on a server where you can spawn and drive vehicles around and capture stuff with vehicles... .i leave it to everyone imagination what happend, but some people like to hide vehicle and other want/need to destroy them
  17. well i disagree :) for me it is very very important to have stable high FPS. more important than some trees
  18. everything below 60 is unacceptable for me. i prefer stable fps, and i am perfectly happy to sacrifice visuals to achieve that. what i am not happy with is if its forced on me what i can do and what not
  19. everything as low as it gets execpt: Textures MED (cant be low because then the HUD of the AV8 is empty....) ViewDist MED MSAA 4x Trees 20% no shadows of course AF 16x also no Def.Shader

  24. -1 wish we had the rep system back.. making people to give up precious FPS is a bad idea and will force them away from MP alltogether. (and bevor someone says "it does not cost any fps, i say, maybe on your PC....") have you ever considert that the problem is people hiding thier Ground units in Woods...? or that AI drives into and shoots out of woods? maybe we should adress this issues first , because i consider hiding units that can shoot throu trees cheating and even worse, they then cry on forums when thier cheating behavior does not work....
