  1. Nice, thanks! Will this trigger the IC? (I hope it would, otherwise what's the point?)
  2. Click bottom right ddi button "Data", then click the top right ddi button (it should have an 8 below it), and change that to "32". That will make the contacts stay on the display longer, or so I've heard.
  3. Drex is working on a hardcore server, and I've heard rumors all weapons will be available. Personally, i like the effect limiting the a-a weapons has on the gameplay. There are more dog fights / furballs, and the Mirage, Mig-21, and F-5 at least have a chance to get work done. If you've ever watched the tracks of the Red Flag multiplayer fights, it's a spamraam fest, which is boring (to me). At least with r-27r's and Aim-7's you have to close within 10 miles, usually much closer.
  4. Seems like this is an easy one to fix... too bad us multiplayer guys can't just fix it on our own (thank you integrity check). (also thank god for the integrity check... it was pretty silly before it)
  5. From my experience, beaming can break lock in look up situations, but beaming is less effective if the aircraft locking is below the target. Also range to target is a factor.
  6. this is just not true. People often react to launch warnings, even at rmax. Should they? probably not, but do they? Quite often. I'll even launch an aim-7 outside rmax against a mirage (before he fires his faster 530) to see if he reacts. if he doesn't, then he either knows what's up, or he'll fly right into it... either way, it's a poker play (like betting on the turn) to get information on your opponent. And, since I"m not paying for the missiles, and I generally have 4 of them... it's a win-win for me.
  7. +1 definite bug I find that if you cycle master arm on and off (sometimes more than once) you can eventually select ground weapons again.
  8. I would hope that that wouldn't pass integrity check, though. (I fly mostly multiplayer)
  9. There's also the 22 mil accuracy issue with the F-18 gun... it should be 8 mil. We'll see if that gets addressed. It'd be super easy to fix...

  11. it sets the stabs to 12 degrees. You can see it by watching them and on the FCS page on the DDI.
  12. wow, that's awesome! i hadn't even noticed it until this thread. good job, and i hope they make this a part of the module, not a mod. also, will this texture mod prevent passing of the integrity check?
  13. I highly suggest watching the following video. Even though it's demonstrated on the F-15, the principles apply to the F-18, and it should give you a greater understanding of how to scan the sky you want to scan, and to undrestand what you're not seeing in the radar display (equally important)

    I sure would love the Shrike. It's basically an A-G sparrow... and that'd give the Hornet way more "to do". I can understand why the HARM and GBU's were left out, as you have to be able to program them via the UFC (laser codes, etc), and I'm sure that code wasn't written at the time of EA release. But what do you have to do to fire a shrike, other than point it at the offending radar? tl;dr looking forward to some sead capability and whatever comes in the update on wednesday
  15. If you don't mind a complete lack of IFF, really like CCIP bombing and/or really want to practice carrier landings, you'll love this module. If not, then I'd wait. I have to say, though, getting in the groove and hitting the 3 wire is super rewarding, and worth the $80 if you have it layin' around. /crosses fingers that we at least get the shrike soon
  16. this thread is so full of over-generalizations, I'm afraid any logic may be lost in the muck. Pilot skill means so much more than the aircraft. Or more in line with the quality of this thread... git gud, son!

  20. +1 Was about to try to post this. Radar seems sluggish... I got into a turn fight with a mirage last night on DDCS server... Would have smoked him, but i had him inside the vert acquisition zone for at least 15 seconds and it never locked him, and I'm not good at the manual gun sight...
  21. For me, it usually occurs around 350 kts and below... really yank that stick low and slow and i think you'll find them. I think the threshold for them should be lowered a tad (should happen more)
