nice one! The Wobbly light out the front is because of a dodgy rudder axis input..probably a twist axis on a stick? ...if you have rudder pedals, make sure to remove the joystick twist axis from rudder input (ie if it's an X52 + pedals)

Hi Hachiman, The KA50 has no concept of altitude with regards to waypoints, so , no , the route mode will attempt to hold your current altitude at the time of engaging it only ... if you also set Radar altitude hold mode (as bumfire has said), then it will terrain follow as best as able, within 10% of the available torque (and only within 300 Mtrs above ground level) , but it will not change altitudes for you based on what altitide you set the waypoint at.

There's no risk of this mate, the gauges / in cockpit indications will all be in crazy (I mean Imperial sorry)... There night be an option to change to Metric (there was in BlackShark) the ED guys are super anal about accuracy to the airframe (irrespective of what the underlying calculations are done in).

it's done as with the real A10 hotas functionality... individual functions can also be programmed though

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
nemises replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
It was AI controlled , you could dynamically switch seats, and you could also "order2 the other seat to do tasks ("hold fire" , "Hover" etc..) I believe the AI in DCS is fairly strong (just look at the AI helo's for eg) ... the step to having an independant AI gunner or Pilot might not be too far from possible? -
I don't think the final list of "whats in" and "whats not" has been decided, so you'll haveto wait untill closer to release to get the answer I'm sorry
-
Fortunately you won't be left in the dark in terms of information / documentation as to hotas functions... .. ...but it is the hardest X52 mapping excersize I've ever undertaken, lol

F/A 18 Interceptor on the amiga 500 ...I can still hear the music now....

INU alignment coordinate versus orientation question
nemises replied to ChromeWasp's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
(and infact INU alignment is not necessary at all, as the INU does not currently accumulate error!) -
..it does indeed rule! ..lets assume the worst, and FC2 support can no longer be provided...ie the DCS engine moves on too far. In that case, we simply have to be patient ... don't forget what ED have mentioned as being "in the pipeline" in one way or another for DCS: -Mig29a -F15c -F16c not to mention that attack aircraft: -A10c -AH64a -Mi24 As the months roll by (and trust me, you'll need MONTHS to "master" the A10c) , one of the above aircraft (or perhaps another that has not been mentioned?!) will be on it's way.. before too long, the skies will be filled with super hi complex machines of war..all of which you and your buddies can fly (well...assuming you can get them started and take off that is ;) )

F4:AF was the sim that got me back into simming ... it was the switchology that did it for me...I just love it! having to set up a deployment 5 - 10 minutes prior to weapons release and overflying it half the time because of pilot over-workload ... awesome stuff. For this reason, DCS:BS (and the upcoming A:10c) really really press my buttons also... F4 will always have a special place , but I think DCS has the potential to fully overtake it (not just graphically, but systemically) in the very very near future.

Heya Speed, Unfortunately, a quick little DLC could still impact the DCS production line by months Lets all just hope that DCS and FC2 can maintain multiplayer co-operability for a while longer! If not, all is not lost... FC2 is still around for a long time yet :)
-
In agreement, and celebration of your excellent post ! ......you are going to FREAK OUT at the detail in this thing....

Apols, posting from work, had to be quick...to lengthen my answer a bit , No, the whole idea of DCS is not interoperability of the modules, its for each individual module to be the most awesome in depth SIM of that aircraft possible. Interoperability is a great-to-have for us in the multiplayer community, but much less of an important factor when considering the ratio of offline only players vs online players (I'm only making up stats, but from what I've read, it could possibly be something in the order of 100 to 1 ratio??). There is no "link to a proper answer" , and yet since I've been around a bit, and know a bit more about how ED operate than you do (presumably?) I thought you'd appreciate the response...
-
Nope ..don't panic! if Ed can make them all inter compatible, they will .. end of story.

If you don't have an EXTERNAL static ip (ie the IP address that the internet see's), then its no problem..just check your external IP on that site (or any other one like it...http://www.whatismyip.org or whatever), and have your buddy connect to that IP, no need to change any port forwarding. If you change INTERNAL ip though, because of a DHCP lease change, then you will just need to change the setting on your p[ort forward / nat setup on the router. as people have said though, far easier to set a static internal IP, then you'll never have to worry about it again..it's very easy to do, but i'll leave you to google it if you like... just set it to the same IP you have now though for eg..just dont forget to note you current subnet mask and gateway settings
-
Here you go: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/2wire/3800HGV-B/ don't forget to use : 192.168.1.69 for your internal address port is: 10308 TCP and UDP This will forward any traffic that hits your router on port 10308 directly to your machine. If you have Blackshark / FC2 running as a server, then clients who connect to your EXTERNAL address should see the server. Dont forget, that, on top of this, if you ahve a soft firewall running also (ie a program on your computer that acts as a firewall) you'll need to make allowances in this also, allthough since your router has a firewall function, there's no real need for a soft firewall (unless you have potentially have unsafe clients connecting to your LAN) Let us know how you go.

heya Sehl, You can do it mate, no worries... Do this for us: -click on the start button, click run and type in "cmd" -in the black window that shows up, type in "ipconfig /all" - Copy and Paste the details from there into the forum so we can see your internal setup (his will give us your internal IP, and tell us whether you are using DHCP for addresses, or static, or neither) - next, go to "http://www.whatismyip.com" in a web browser, and tell us what your External IP is (you might want to disguise the last part of your IP...we don't need to know it exactly, as long as you do) - Next, tell us the brand of broadband router you are using (if you are using one) From there, we can give pretty specific instructions to what to do I hope.

Answer: Unknown sorry

Arguments that it is too expensive are self solving.....if you can't afford it, then don't buy it. Saying "it's not worth that" is a whole other argument ..by all accounts it'll be the première HOTAS of all time, in terms of build materials and quality. If you care about that, and want the nicest piece of kit for simming, but can't afford it?...too bad sorry, don't gripe at the manufacturers, you just simply aren't their intended market.

It indicates SPI location on the TAD

yep, switch away from the ground channel (actually the direct feed intercom) , and either the guy detaches his headset from the chopper, or, at worst you can't hear him complaining ;)

DCS: A-10C Warthog HOTAS simulation capability
nemises replied to sungsam's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
my GF is like a Ninja ... she can smell a new purchase on my credit card bill weeks before it even arrives...no...the only way is complete (well...) honesty, and looking the other way at new handbag / shoes. -
Hmm, interesting question, I guess, since it is modelled, and possible with the TM Hotas Warthog, that it should be possible also in a non TM hotas ... allthough the TMHW has the lift detents, which would definately help with not accidentally bumping them to start ;) At worst, I expect a key-combo will be able to set the throttle to start (kind of like the auto throttle keypresses in BS).

The Black Shark printed manual was an after market experiment. I expect that something similar would be done for the A10 IF the black shark printed manual was a financial success. If it wasn't, then probably not :)
