hmm...no such error here on those missions

Step that's missing for y'all: unstow the ADI glideslope bars (switch is in the middle of the nav mode selection panel). Also, tones must be enable by setting the "ILS" volume switch (left hand side Audio panel) to enable...I believe you'll hear the ILS freq indicator.,.not sure if it does inner / outer beacon though.

Need help with the campaign Devil`s Cross First mission
nemises replied to deeteewan's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I believe the objectives are to fight a holding action, while friendly forces withdraw (this is what the briefing says) You should check in with the JTAC at the CP (checkin point) , and he will direct you towards a columns of vehicles...you should disrupt this column in some way.. Attacking the column will force them to go into a defensive position, and will stop them from advancing for a few minutes. Do the same for each of the incoming convoys you spot, and keep them all clear from the retreating forces. After a period of time you should get a mission successful. Just to be clear, ther is no way , nor are you expected to destroy all of the bad guys!.. Just buy the friendlies enough time to escape. -
not 100% sure, but I suspect the only changes might have been spelling fix's or formatting.. If you've gone to the trouble of printing the beta 4 manual, I don't think you'll need to reprint

probably configured in lua file somewhere or a .cfg..... Had a search and couldn't find anything, so might be hard coded...I didn't look that hard though!

seat arming handle is the stripy yellow thing to the immediate left hand side of your seat. Click on it, and it will go from upright (safe) to down (armed)

Advice to mission designers re waypoint placement
nemises replied to Bahger's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
how is it done IRL ? -
Hi CaptMac, Youre not doing any thing wrong, the l/r eng oil pressure alarms will go until the oil pressure builds up in each engine after you start them. I believe it is a bug though..I guess for now it's just motivation to get those engines up and running ASAP ;)

Using Targeting Pod SPI for Mav Targeting- Bug?
nemises replied to Dropbear's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
...as for multi target designation, you can consider "marking" from the TGP prior to your run in..ie to a few orbits from your IP and set up your targets as Marks (TMS-right-short?) Switch to "Mark" display mode (right hand panel under the EGI), set Steerpoint-as-POI (TMS aft long?).. Then, as you approach (and this is a bit fiddly): - set TGP as SPI - set HUD as SOI - select the "mark" you want (TGP will slew to it automatically) - slave MAV to TGP - Shoot the mav when able - select next "waypoint" mark - repeat oe some such.. but yeah, with mav's, it's easier / safer to to repeated runs if the targets are too far apart to slew directly from the MAV seeker IMHO -
be aware of wind ! They will get blown of target by ze vind!.... A lower delivery will get more accurate results (assuming you use N/T fusing to deploy the chute...bit dangerous without!)

I think it's a very nice form of respect and loyalty. I believe, to maximise the amount that ED themselves receive, the download version is optimal (Box copy and Steam (if it happens) will have a publisher / royalty model I imagine) I also got 3 copies of BS , and I believe the admins from the 104th must have 20+ copies of BS and FC2 easily!

Alternatively, you can "save profile" from within the control settings menus...this will save all your key assignments / axis assignments into a .lua / .xml file. "Open" this file in the release game settings menu, and it will import the key settings into the selected controller. Graphics settings et al should be done from fresh, as there are new variables / settings in the missioneditor.lua and settings.lua that come with the release version I believe.

\...A-10C Beta\bin\... Looks like your running from an old location ? Please fully uninstall the Beta, also clear out any files you have in: C:\Users\%username%\Saved Games\DCS Warthog. ...or is this before you have tried to install the Release version?

Will Beta tutorial missions run properly in Release?
nemises replied to Bahger's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
A fresh start is definitely advisable...lots of variables have changed between the alst Beta version and the release.. Having said that, the majority of a missions setup should be intact, you'll just need to double check any trigger condition's, radios configuration and advanced AI tasks.. -
well, the world / AI in A10c beta is very much improved, with automated defensive posturing (with smoke deployment for some), dynamic re-pathing, as well as AI being able to be set objectives and secondary objectives, + a lot more options in terms of map triggers and "programmed" AI. ..fingers crossed this can one day make it into the KA50 world

Thanks to all for flying, very very good event!

read the chapter on Hooking and SPI's in the manual.. It is possible to "Hook" from the Bullseye object, to another point (say your target) on the TAD, this will then give you the target's Bullseye reference (degress relative to, and distance from the bullseye)
-
Bullseye is an arbitrary shared point of reference in space that all allied traffic use.. Once you know where Bullseye is (its on your TAD!), then all bullseye calls are RELATIVE to that point.. A call of: "engage armor 80° for 69" means your target is at a bearing of 80 degrees FROM bulleye, and 69 miles FROM bulleye. It is NOT relevant to your personal position... but don't take my word for it! :) Here is an excellent tutorial by 104th_Aero:

Have a search around, there is a good table of days someone has created some time back (try searching the Lockon forums) ... I "think" day 000 is the 1st July? -
