Easy. Change their frist waypoint from take off / cold start to turn point / fly over and boom - they're off, already clearing the skies for you! -

I've just got into the habit of having all flights TOT ASAP, and then manually tweaking in the mission editor. works a treat as I can also change the carrier, weather etc. Even add more SAMs to groups. -
Exporting F/A-18 DDI's and MCPD to Second Monitor

On a side note..... Any ideas on the smallest monitor that would be "best" for 3 DDIs, including a border for sticking on 2 Cougar MFDs? I have a 28" spare but that's just too big to sit under my main screen. TIA -

THANKS for the interest all. It's fixed itself. I didn't change anything between sessions, but last night everything seemed fine. Now to bring back some of those view commands. Matze81: It sounds like that could have been the issue. tried so many things it wasn't really a "fair test"!

Hi all. Clear user error here, but let's see. I have had this before, but fixed it. I think I've got a joystick conflict as when I release a weapon the view goes straight to weapon track, and the camera flies with it. I didn't get this problem until I started getting into the A10 again, but it's migrated over to the FA18 configuration also. Any ideas what I must be toggling on? Is there a setting or a particular view I need to reset? The weapon release is only set to joystick button 2 and when I re-program it there isn't any sign of a conflict. TIA, me. :thumbup:

I guess nothing. Again - DCS limitations. The save file only (I THINK) saves destruction of units. But I'm not the guru ;-) -
okay. 80% there. For the Hornet. It shows live IFEI data as per the sim. Nothing on the UFC however works. Any ideas on my obvious oversight? Have I changed keys in game that need to be linked to the app? TIA :) EDIT: Either I had the wrong computer IP, or I opened the port. WORKS NOW. Oh yeah! Now.....get the bloody display output working :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::pilotfly:

Guessing a limit of the "rather old" DCS mission engine // rubbish (sorry, work in progress) DCS AI? Maybe you'll need to edit the targets in the mission editor? -
I too have had this problem - selecting the box. I had to go back to Wag's video to make sure it wasn't me. IT'S FINICKY depressing the target grid square. Depressing the button DOES toggle the little line at the bottom of the box, but it doesn't select sometimes. Give it a GOOD press. It does work. I don't know if there is deliberate delay, lag or whatever, but it is very simple and I bet you aren't doing anything wrong. At work, so speed typing. Hope you get it fixed :-)

Grid = waypoint = slaveable. Just like how you would alter WP coordinates. Guess they haven't gotten around to doing anything with JTAC - even just giving him the ability to offer....coordinates ;-)

LOTS OF EDITS AS I GET MORE IDEAS. Some suggestions if I may. *** Loving the JTAC. Works well. Could he please have a different laser code for the TGP to spot? I noticed that I was manually lasing my own target that was obviously near his. Unless I did something stupid my GBU tracked to HIS target (@1688 ) rather than mine (@1688 ). I guess his target was rather close to mine!!! (USER ERROR - need to change code on ground) *** Difficult I'm sure, but....... Is there a way to set our own "start" map? Load a template in the mission editor and add our own extremelly diificult airbase defences and the like? This gets saved into the already fantastic template and everything gets tracked automatically on game save? *** If this isn't possible for the effort involved, can there be a scale for the amount of EXTRA factories, power plants, command centres etc for each stage of the campaign? Adding to this, possibly somehow get them tagged onto the edge of towns / in towns. Sure it'll be hard to place them IN them, but having other buildings around them would be ace! *** Could it be possible to program escort missions for strike packages? Or - make it manual, where you select escort in the planner, and pick a flight to ... escort? *** There used to be a base attack mission? Could this be brought back? Have all ground units move to the base supported by air. Maybe set a trigger to advance them in when player craft enters a bubble // xx% of ground units destroyed. *** I think I'm cheating at the moment as I set my CAPS to take off in ZERO minutes. Is there a way of tracking flights from before and forcing a 3 hour turn around? If I finish a mission the F15s are still available to task even though techinically they are still in the air. Sorry. Getting ahead of myself lol. FAR too complicated. *** Another cheat: Maybe be able to load up the "enemy" side, and allocate ground forces / SAMs. That'll be cool! *** Auto Mission creation. Could there be a tofgge to what is created in each pass? Maybe CAP / CARCAP only. Tick boxes so that we have to manually go in and create the ground missions. This is starting to go away from an autogenerated campaign I know, but late in the game I'm finding I just want "my" airfields planes to do the attacking, leaving another enemy base for me to have a go at "on another day". Also helps with FPS too. Obviously the Carrier movement is already being worked on. All very easy I'm sure, and will take 5 minutes of your time ;-) ;-) Again, for the 20th time from me in the thread I just want to say thank you for the continued development. If it weren't for this, DCS would frankly be just a systems simulator for me (my opinion). If I had the know how I would try to help out ! -

Bother, wrote a long list and then saw you mention "server" - mine was for single player. But for - Supercarrier. When you load the mission in DCS you can edit the units as you see fit in the editor. I personally add extra SAMs and start closer to the mission area. Fly, then submit the json like you suggested. I usually just accept the basic result unless I need to start again as I sometimes forget to change loadout of my plane. -
Hi. I got this a couple of months ago and not installed it yet as I don't own a tablet. Tablets. WOW they are expensive and underspec'd!!! Question: Will this run without much hassle on an Amazon Tablet. They seem much better value, but obviously they are in the Amazon ecosystem which isn't good. TIA Mr R.

I've been trying to get to grips with the JSOW recently too. 1) They REALLY are ineffective lol! I see the dispersal cloud and bomb drop ripples on target, but even against open AAA they aren't that great and I end up returning to send another 2 in. I'm going to play with burst height in a minute and feed back, but someone above mentioned that clusters aren't too great all around the the '18 - and I think I agree (No. No RL to back that up). 2) I too (no pun) have had them totally miss in TOO mode for no reason. 2b) Good grief the TOO procedure is a ballache. RL or no RL - it just plain sucks! At least make us "target designate" on the HOTAS to send coordinates to the weapon (yes - sure RL dictates this behaviour)!

Thanks :-) Just gone through the updates, https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=200724&page=11 Can you point me in the direction of how to change it? Oh, you're talking about the MOD. I was referring to someone above saying that ED have finally managed to get it into the sim proper. I know Wags has suggested it's coming, but so are many things.

I'm a +1 on the "go on, let us have these toys to play with!" crowd. Other weapons and planes have dissimilar loadouts to the variant / year. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Just got back into DCS for a bit and noticed this too in my last mission! Munitions bang on target (4 APCs then Artillery) and possibly one blew up. If we can indeed lower to 1000ft (like i said, been a while lol) I'll give that a go in my next mission.

Yep. Finally - Mark Points. I haven't flown in ages, and just don't like the way the FA18's sytstems and sensors are setup compared to the A10 and '16 (I know I can't change it lol)! What I'm trying to achieve is to use mark points for GPS munitions. Mark the 8 targets, and flip through them for delivery. I'm almost there. 8 Mark points set. Great Set to MP1 and I want the TGP to auto slave to the point. It doesn't - so I need to AMPCD 14 to WPDSG. Okay. If that's the way - so be it. This is where it gets inconsistent. If I go up to MP2 - the TGP doesn't track straight to it (sure that's by desigin :() so I then press WPDSG again. Sometimes it then jumps to it, and other times I have to undesignate and THEN WPDSG. On these occasions the WPDSG and WYPT buttons flash like they're pressed but nothing happens. Undesignating and then WPSSG again will flip to the MP correctly. Is this a work in progress problem, or just a lack of my TGP knowledge, which is highly likely :smilewink: EDIT: Looks like we need to undesignate a couple of times and then WPDSG.
