Many thanks for this. Is there any way in which the Gazelle could be made a troop transporter / pilot recoverer? Shame it's limited to CAS. TIA.
-
Thanks all. I'm now pretty much back up to speed with the gazelle. Bring on the big bird!
-
I gave up with clusters. I now set mark points and pinpoint strike with the jsow C. At least I get 1 shot 1 kill!
-
I've followed guides to reduce stick movement and I'm beginning to hop around like I used to in the Ka-50 10+ years ago! Can't turn on a dime yet, but getting there

Just seen this, thanks for the reply I got the Gazelle in the sale as my "trainer" for the 64...... Haven't had much need for trim to be honest, although I do prefer the mag trim out of the pair. Thanks again.

Did a total Graphics driver dance and have flown a MP mission in Syria. So I'm guessing the driver got glitched somehow. Bizare as frames etc were top notch. Great spot BIGNEWY, and thanks again.
-
Brilliant, thank you. Interesting it's diplay driver as it's up to date. Yes - the save file is bizare, I think it got picked up from an old install somehow.......I'll just rename THAT one to "old", and then DCS will fix to the proper C drive one won't it I guess. I'll keep this post updated for anyone else in the future. Thanks again. EDIT: renamed the DCS open Beta in saved games and when it reloaded it..........made it again in that very same folder....................

Well, just got into multplaer. Loving it. Everything was fine. I purchased and installed Syria and the Gazelle, which both work brilliantly in single player. Ever since however, going into MP I crash 90% of the time. At first I thought it was RAM - I've only 16 gigs, but I don't thing it is now. I've changed the page file too form computer set to a recommened one from a post here. Don't normally post problems like this as I can fix them, but this time Any ideas? (logs attached). TIA. My system has run faultlessly "forever". I installed Syria and the Gazelle, and again - perfect. Today - Multiplayer..............crash after crash. Okay in mission editor / single player. No changes to my system. I did see that the pagefile was system managed to my c drive - and I've manually set it to "something suggested in another thread". All to no avail. My memory is hitting MAX and then CTD - even on the Caucasus map..... Any ideas?

Hi all. Flew the Blackshark in V1.0 days and loved the way the trim worked. Fly the stick, hit trim and it would.....trim. Having played around with the Little Bird and using it's push pull hat trimmer I must say I hate that way. So. How will the trim work in this beast? Any ideas? TIA.

Can't go back using the litening.. ATFLIR all the way
MrReynolds replied to Mizrach's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
For me personally the ATFLIR was going to be the highlight of 2.7. Hoping for better image and zoom. Certianly not as good on the zoom front, sticking to the trusty Litening for now. The liGHTing however from the clouds, now that is the highlight for me Ninja'd by notproplayer. Forgot about the masking and payload changes that are needed to accomodate it on the cheek station! -
DCS: F/A-18C Screenshots and Videos (NO DISCUSSION)

Larking about with the new weather. Must admit, I wasn't really fussed until.......................... -
correct as-is ATFLIR maximum zoom vs Litening TGP
MrReynolds replied to Viper 13's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I've just done this VERY thing with taking shots and even video from different ranges etc and agree! I had 5 waypoints, and with the ATFLIR not being on the centre pylon 2 of them were even masked. Coupled with the need for an Asynchronous loadout I'll be passing on the new pod for now. I guess if you're CAS you may need the wider field of view (then again you'll be masked more often)...... -
How will a 2 man cockpit be run in single player?
MrReynolds replied to silent one's topic in DCS: AH-64D
For me I'm hoping something like (if I remember rightly) Enemy Engaged. One. Single. Button.......to simply swap seats. No change in gameplay at all, except a different set of instruments. You could fly, engage, whatever. Navigate in the back seat, hit the button and you're in the front, all with instruments set up ready to engage- but you could fly the helicopter all the same. I don't have the Tomcat so have no experience of a copilot, but I like to try and fly and engage all at the same time. Just that little more challenge -
I say we Nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure! On a serious note - It's quite a sight following up a flight of 4 B-52s attacking an s300 SAM site.

My Way? Radar on left DDI, FLIR on Right. Find target on radar - SCS left to track. FLIR zooms to target SOI to FLIR Lock the target using FLIR Move back to radar Unlock the target (the FLIR however does NOT recentre) Go BACK to the FLIR and tweak and track the target...... It's a hullabaloo, but I keep the radar and FLIR seperate as I have certain DDI buttons programmed on the HOTAS for real HOTAS - not the silly FA-18 MFD button mashing way
-
Yeah - It's a shame that the TGP doesn't take over control of the targetting when it becomes the sensor of interest. Use radar to acquire, jump to TGP and then tweak. Such is life hey!!
-
For me, and I'm sure it's a RTM thing, I can lock up using Radar and then in the other display I see the auto lock with FLIR. That's great. What I don't like is that if I unlock (with FLIR as SOI) it'll undesignate and fly away. This is a pain if It's locked on to one mover, but I want a different one using the FLIR.

Those charts are really useful, thanks.

Thanks for the above comments. I'll get back into it then. When the Hornet first came out one of my final advanced ratings were zero visibility night landings from 7 of miles out, straight in. Obviously that wouldn't happen unless dire circumstances but for me, it's the pinnacle of flying and SO hard to pull off.
-
On a side note, the thing that puts me off Case III is the 4 hour (exagerated ) push time. Is there any way to change this. I know the die hards will be spitting their coffee out reading this, but it would be great to be given the details and declare when ready. I understand landing 14 planes in RL is complicated to plan, but half the time it's just me and my wingman.

no evidence Designate shared targets from SA page ever possible?
MrReynolds posted a topic in Wish List
As the title really. Is this a capability of our Hornet? Almost seems lazy using it, but being able to designate from shared targets like in the A10 on the SA page would be awesome. It's great we can see the symbology now, but zooming in to both displays and manually moving the TGP over it is a bit.....of a ballache! Designating air targets would feel like even more of a "cheat" ! Comments? -
incorrect year Can Hornet carry Laser Guided Rockets?
MrReynolds replied to JG54_NF2's topic in Wish List
Come on - get them pakws, awkps, wakps - oh I give up, laser guided rockets implemented! You know you want to. WHO. just WHO came up with apkws? It's silly saying we're sticking to a certian Hornet and then adapting this and that system that may or may not have once, in a hypothetical prototype been tested The Harrier's got them, gotta keep up with the Jones' !
