  1. I'll try this tomorrow. Thanks.
  2. I scan then drop down. Go to tsd then set up WP/Target points. You can also caq the stored returns and slave to TADS. How's that for a reply with acronyms ! Obviously this is temporary until we can get the returns linked in 6 months or so time I like it this way as it's more of a challenge.
  3. Just to pipe in. My DCS is running smooth as butter. As soon as I get into an A-A engagement my computer almost locks up with HUGE stutters. Maybe two or three 10 second freezes? At first I thought it was FLIR on my left MFD - but this last encounter I had it off. What was bad was the RWR warnings. I think maybe I had 3 planes engaging me. I couldn't move so obviously I get shot out of the sky. Once the burning wreck is falling to the ground everything is buttery smooth again. Running MT with 32gig RAM. Just been on MP - single thread. Thought it was okay, but boom...................again. Fire, try to break away and stutter. ONLY in A-A engagements. BVR seems okay. It's when we're <10 miles out generally.
  4. I'm getting an authorisation invalid and is being disabled message upon DCS bootup. What did I do wrong??
  5. Interesting +1 1) loaded perfect -> install Sinai. 2) Update ->Error -> NO modules at all. 3) reload = all modules good, no multiplayer!!! Hey ho. Edit for the laughs: Wrote the original - talked to the wife for 10 minutes and then hit save. Obviously in that time everything came back up!!
  6. I understand the usual need for a trackfile, but in this case it's just a case of sun glare. Get it quite often myself. Rotate the helo and everything gets better. Now - what DOES make things interesting is if the angle is just "right" when you are lining up for a Hellfire!!! Need to change the mfd to hud sometimes.
  7. X-56 THUMB rotary. It's the feature that's keeping me with the stick combo to be honest. As it's an axis, you can also tweak to your hearts content!
  8. Disregard. Seems to be fine now Always used this mod - essential. Has the latest Apache update broken the script? I can't get the original, or the new one working. Was fine for the FA18 yesterday....... Thanks for any feedback
  9. Hey all. Currently I fly in the 4y servers. Love them, and THANKS for hosting them. Sometimes however I fancy a bit of a change, so can anyone please post any other hot start + PVE servers below please. Please don't down the rabbit hole of cold vs hot starts or indeed .... "you 'aint flyin if it aint PvP" Thanks
  10. Yes, about to tinker with the lua because I don't like the change. Already made it bigger, now need to learn how to move. Sure it won't take long....... Think it's in here: DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\AH-64D\Cockpit\Scripts\AI
  11. Hi all. Looking for a possible future purchase. I will need macro programming in the Simapp pro software. Don't want to mess around with "15" other programs running to get the funtionality I have had with Thrustmaster and Logitech software in the past (yes - i know the hardware is far superior)!! So - is macro programming part of sim app pro or is is basic key presses? TIA.
  12. I'm "imagining" for this iteration, it'll allow much better masking for stationary targets at least. Pop up, lase, bob down. Transfer coordinates to the missile and then.....fire. Now - if we can transfer target points across to individual missiles we really can get ripple fire going. Pop up, store 4 or 5 target points --> hide. Fire, next target point, fire, and so on. VERY much like JSOWs in TOO mode / markpoints in the Hornet. Could get spammy however, so I know for myself I would fire a couple then move to another fire spot. yes - that's a good strategy anyhow :-))) Since I'm late to the party, and people above have mentioned the radar - that would cut out any discrepancies with the laser coordinate being a couple of metres off. Looking forward to them. AND the radar
  13. There aren't too many things I always forget in the different modules - but the TOO HARM sequence "did" always get me. Either it was the TDC priority or forgetting the cage swap. needless to say I've now written it down somewhere and now...remember it The joys of learning. Yeah, answer probably as Marlan put it.
  14. Friggit, knew it would be obvious somewhere. THANKS.
  15. Okay - I'm ready to be flamed, but... Yes the navy version is planned and coming, YES "We want to make sure to tell the story of each Phantom variant chosen in the most content rich and appropriate way possible". But will it be a separate purchase or bundled with this module further down the line? I really want naval ops so not interested in this first iteration and certainly not buying both if they are single packages (with respect, of course)! TIA
  16. Now that the Apache is moving along quickly in early access, I can now personally fly pretty much the way I want. Front seat, just like a single seat fighter. I can scan, set targets, fly around at will. Shame there isn't a simple procedure for flipping around targets and waypoints, but that's life in the apache. I DO however, once setup in a hover, engage George for height adjustments - up and down, rotate left and right. I used to do this manually in the Gazelle, but the Apache's auto systems aren't quite there (real or not, no worries). I have a quick macro to disengage him when I need to escape quickly if need be. Loving it. Not asking for the radar yet (although wouldn't say no), but would love spot track to come along sooner rather than later
  17. Finally got it working and..............cold start!!! Any chance of a hot start? or a hint on how I can edit a file to do so please? Thanks for your efforts EDIT: Seen the template, DOH!
  18. I too am a lone-wolf. Fly in the CPG seat and it's GREAT.
  19. Front seat flying people, front seat. It's the new way Fly and scan during ingress. You can multi-task like the '16 or '18 with the FLIR. Get into range, make sure you get into a good hover and engage George for the hovering and popping up and down. Fire a couple off (ooo-er)! and scoot somewhere else manually. Repeat and rinse. LOVE IT. There's still a few Beta bugs like not being able to markpoint in the front (MP) but it's GREAT. (Obviously RL tactics is FAR FAR superior have 2 seats, but if you want to fly AND fight it's great)
  20. Still maintain this is the best (hope it's the right one)!!
  21. Turning into an interesting topic chaps. I'm using LOAL all if the time now - just for testing and certainly not realistic. I aim for hiding behind trees / buildings like Rongor said above, and onboard with what he / you have said about 22 seconds + a bit of distance behind trees Interesting to read about the lua file too. THANKS. Keep it up chaps
  22. Thanks all so far. Yes - it would seem the target / waypoint is for our "pointing" constraints to line the bird up. I'm right nap of the earth, close in so I bob up to get the initial view, then down. Then fire and then bob up again. by that point I lase, but often the hellfire just flies in a straight line, as if it's not bothering to look down anymore.
  23. Good point, I'll edit. I'm setting LOAL - Hi, or Lo. The point is to loft, and then pop up, therefore there is no laser to begin with.
  24. mmmmmmmmmmmmm. I'm getting this a lot - >8 <9 km. Constant Bal limit, but missiles hit. HOWEVER - it's hit and miss ( !!!! ) if I get the count down timer. mmmmmm.
  25. I am sure this is my user issue - but here goes. I want to so a pop up attack, usually against an SA15 or 8. By all accounts we are supposed to have the waypoint / target selected for LOAL (Hi or Lo). Fire, and with >=8 seconds remaining fire the laser. Using Casmo's great video (thanks) I am thinking: 1) the hellfire will dive / drop to or near the mark point. 2) we have the luxury of around 10 seconds before we have to lase (giving you time to hide and then pop up late). What I'm seeing is that if I lase (from around 8/9 km) I HAVE to lase @22 seconds or preferably greater for the missile to drop down and hit the target. Otherwise it just flies straight on. It certainly never seems to go near the target until the laser is on. This isn't much better than a LOBL. It DOES tell me to lase, but that is @24/5 seconds which, with the speed of the Hellfire I'm dead if I have to hang around that long. As designed, or a bug? There is no way in hell the seeker head will see my laser with only 8 seconds left. All's good if I lase >22 seconds or if there's a UAV spotting. Video incoming, but YouTube processing and need to dash.
