Indeed. Wouldn't have it any other way. Still miss the Viper sounds ;-)
-
I miss the DIFFERENT sounds from the F-16 - for different radars. I don't have the 16 in DCS, but "the other sim" had different sounds for different planes etc. Now I'm thinking I've imagined this as I can't find many videos on YouTube, but I'm sure there's more variation....

[ALL MODULES][SP/CO-OP] Liberation Dynamic Campaign
MrReynolds replied to shdwp's topic in User Created Missions General
I always have. But remember (as far as I'm aware) it only tallies up the campaign stuff that it has in it's save. If you delete a load of enemy flights that aren't going near you (to save fps for example) that number isn't deleted from the saved campaign. Just now actually I added a FARP and gazelle to the campaign to observe and mop up a base strike. Everything saves fine - excepet the farp and my gazelle. -
Perfect example of different strokes. Having just re-read Apache again - I would love the chance to operate on call CAS - hunting for targets that dip in and out of cover. No idea of where the target is. Pre-planned, for me is where I have less interest. Different strokes

[ALL MODULES][SP/CO-OP] Liberation Dynamic Campaign
MrReynolds replied to shdwp's topic in User Created Missions General
I personally TOTALLY adapt each mission - so yes - if you can do it in the mission editor you can tweak to your heart's content. Within the app - I don't think so. -
If you're going to buy.... You're going to pre order (yes some folks may have to save-fair play)

That rehearse feature looked AMAZING!!

Dropping Multiple JDAMS in a Single Pass TOO Mode
MrReynolds replied to Bader242's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Yeah, mark points work for that, but ultimately reverting the old and likely "real" behaviour would be far better. Indeed - but for real targets of opportunity, especially if the ground units are set to scatter on attack, you will need to adjust parameters -
Dropping Multiple JDAMS in a Single Pass TOO Mode
MrReynolds replied to Bader242's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Mark points. Use TGP to mark all of your targets. Then designate MP1. Here's the good bit. Program a MACRO to pickle + next waypoint + lock. Bam Bam Bam Now, if you are targetting from miles away, your aim point will be off, so you WILL need to fine tune before releasing, so......maybe DON'T lock on the macro as any fine tuning tends to "stick" to the target until you move away a bit far...... Video incoming soon(tm) of a very bad example (no voice etc). VIDEO -
Sounds sensible to me Startup (dare I say) isn't my thing!

FA-18. Yes. Totally different aircraft............ But I fly it Navigate it. Use targeting systems Deploy weapons. Sounds like indeed....a single seat fighter. The Apache I fly it - back seat Navigate it - back seat Use targetting systems - front seat Deploy weapons - front seat. If it's handled like the gazelle, I can still control the aircraft (right / front seat) whilst targeting and deploying weapons in the (left / front seat) If you think about it, it's actually easier than the A-10 / single seats, because you can have two cockpits setup exactly how you like it, and ONE button allows you to swap "modes". Pretty much like the games simulators of yore (Apache Longbow and Enemy engaged for example). One button swaps to a different seat with different MFDs etc. Pretty swanky actually. I guess it's down to personal preference. I myself would expect /want to swap seats.
-
So. On the 4y server they have pilot and "instructor pilot". I CAN swap seats and I have also (by mistake) shared the cockpit with another before.
-
Well. Well well well.......................................................... That is a BIGGY Still purchasing <1 minute after pre-purchase, but I do NOT want to fly with other people in the same helo. Same flight, yes - but I would want to do both jobs like I already do in the FA-18 (fly, A-A, A-G etc). Hey ho. Time will tell. Thanks for the answer. EDIT: Thinking about it I now realise why it seemed such a silly question...... The Gazelle allows for seat swapping.
-
WOW, didn't know this. I would have expected to hop between the two seats. Doesn't the F-14 allow for this in MP? (I don't know as I don't own it). Definately a +1 for swapping between the two!
-
Indeed. But where's the fun of having target waypoints set????????
-
Mark points are your friend here if I'm getting the right end of the stick. Set all your targets as mark points. Then, another good friend of yours, if you can handle the lack of realism is Mr Macro. Pickle -> next MP -> designate. This also highlights the inncacuracy of long distance TGP designating, as you'll probably be pickling closer than when you designated, quite often you'll want to adjust the aim a little as it will be off. Hope this helps

cannot reproduce Can't get SLAM-ER Sensor to work
MrReynolds replied to Aigle2's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Thanks for that, I'll take a look, but they DO seem to match up (WP / clicked target)...... I'll edit with a verification Just like my SLAMs - you're comment is aimed so true and right! The coordinates were "only" 100th of decimals. Now with 1000ths................. Big badda Boom -
I'm Loving this weapon, but my only problem is the final target waypoint isn't where it should be if I manually enter the coordinates. As a pre-planned WP in the editor, it's GREAT - but If I plug in the coordinates precisely, it's quite a bit off. Yes , i've checked the coordinates in the HSI data pages and map, and they are correct. AND height too. Hey ho.

Thank you for listening to feedback. Question on the new operation regards the Mav: Can you still find the target with TGP and then uncaage the seeker? The TPG goes off and control moves to mav, or is there no TGP at all if the Mav is selected? New to the Harrier so don't know it's avionics history in DCS. Thanks.
-
correct as-is Litening TGP Magnification wrong?
MrReynolds replied to Jafferson's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Always preferred the A10 TGP screen. It's just right for me. Obviously not from a professional mil point of view, just gameplay. -
Well I'm on the tutorial and have just entered coordinates. Next up? Moving the symbol (this topic). NOTHING is moving with TDC lol......... Think I'll be skipping this section for a bit. EDIT / not checked: Just reading Chuck's guide - seems you need to Sensor Select Switch forwards before slewing.... Pretty sure that's not mentioned in the tutorial. Very handy feature coming from the Hornet. Edit 2: it works with the SSSF. My other problem was that the cursor kept moving. Dead zones on the axis cured that bad boy!!
