A little off topic but anyone else find it curious someone from the UK referring to this map as the Malvinas whilst RAZBAM have carefully given it the politically neutral name of "South Atlantic"?
I think there's a bug with static objects not loading. I've noticed in "When The Mountains Cry" and "Ossetia" that the water towers and pump stations are missing.
Speaking of static objects and all weapons, have you considered using offsite warehouses to supply the airfields with the more advanced weapons? That way a team could limit their opponents effectiveness by reducing the number of weapons such as R-60M, AIM-9P5 to the initial level at the airfield.
Might give incentive for more air to ground attack and cover.
I was having the same problem with my TWCS stick.
Resetting the curve to default in DCS and instead having the curve and saturation (TM call it "zoom") set in TARGET has solved the problem and now it's perfect
Surely finishing the Harrier is the same as working on the F-15E.
With similar MPCDs, UFC, ODU and weapons etc.
Should allow for a bit of a head start as the F/A-18 did for the F-16.
Great thing is all these "golden age" jets have somewhat inefficient engines. Zoom ALL the way in and you can spot the smoke trail.
After a while as Alpen said you get better at spotting that one pixel.
If you're flying MiG-21 (you mentioned RSBN) just fly high and proud. Force them to come to you.
What I like about Yak-130 the most is it's fly-by-wire can be set up to mimic the feel of other aircraft.
Also it's a Yak. Seriously ED give us a Yak 1b, 3, 9, 15, 28, 38 or 130
Battery, fuel pumps, start system, left throttle to idle, left engine start button, wait until started, right engine to idle, right engine start button, wait..., turn on everything else you want to work :pilotfly:
It's cheap, it's fun, easy to learn but hard to master.
From a simpler and more honourable time when pilots would look each other in the eye whilst trying to kill each other.
For PVP there is always https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=211361
I'm sure they day will come when Norwegian F-35 are sent to intercept/ escort Tu-160 that are flying a patrol. Though I'd say the Tu-160 crew are more likely to smile, wave and take photos to share with their friends (F-35 pilots probably will do the same, remember the stories of Tu-95 crews asking intercepting Phantoms to perform barrel rolls etc for them which they would usually oblige) than engage the burners and try to run away. (which they can easily do being much faster than the Lightning II)
Besides that, yes we need more AI aircraft. Maybe not so much the fancy shiny stuff you mentioned but perhaps the "century series" (currently there are none), some British aircraft (there's only the Spit and Tornado), and more WWII aircraft in general to give the DCS warbirds some real value.
:joystick: Get a soldering iron and a supply of small tactile switches. No need to replace a $$$$$ stick for the sake of a switch worth a couple of cents
Take all the answers you get on this with a pinch of salt. Mostly hearsay and speculation.
Official responses from ED have been a consistent "no comment".
Not long ago they expanded that a little to "most of our employees are in Russia which makes things complicated, third parties elsewhere can do so" When pressed on how and why the answer is once again "no comment".
My personal speculation would be that it has less to do with secrecy and more to do with the clampdown on corruption under Russian defense minister Sergey Shoigu.
With potentially ED's employees having relatives and friends working for UAC it's just a potential headache they'd prefer to avoid entirely. Again that is speculation.
Interestingly Chizh did concede on the Russian forum that a Fulcrum would be possible (presumably one of the early models) but wasn't considered as profitable as other aircraft (F-16)
