Dear oculus rift cv1 users. Is it really worth it!
WindyTX replied to boedha68's topic in Virtual Reality
I live at 45fps and lower but mainly because I only play Multiplayer, SP is never a problem. I am quite happy with it tho' I have a 6700K and a 1080. I have to turn off ASW all the time as it produces far too many artefacts. Let me reiterate tho it is only in MP that I see the problems. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk -

I have one comment in the real world A2A aircraft primary goal is to shoot down the A2G aircraft . They are the ones going to kill your troops destroy your base etc. If you can sidestep the sweep and escort you do. If the A2G guys all get through and you destroy the sweep you failed your mission. I have seen a few posts now of people complaining about A2A guys targeting A2G aircraft, honestly tho thats their job, unless you are not trying to simulate the real world. Personally I have flat shadows on I see a very small hit but sometimes its the Aircraft shadow you spot when you are running at low level, so I find the cost worth it. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk -

I read this all with interest, I was a military pilot and now a B777 pilot. I liked the Rift so much I bought a laptop and take it away with me on every trip, I fly international. Anyway if you are flying WW2 stuff then the lack of IFF is an issue its still way fun but tricky to identify whose who. For anything else it is fantastic. I missed Fast Jet flying and the Rift bought it back to me :) . YOU are in the cockpit everything is legible enough. Honestly with the Rift you can get a pretty good feel for what it feels like to fly a military Jet. The g is missing but other than that the sense ofimmersion is great and with a Jetseat adding buffet and feedback it is truly an addictive experience. A mate who flew the F15e came over for a demo and I couldnt get him off the Rift for 90 minutes. I have spoken to a few people who complain about the resolution and yes it could be better but I have yet to demo it to a pilot who would then rather fly in 2D. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk -

Announcing Project VPC MongoosT-50
WindyTX replied to Solway's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Ok heres my question using a warthog adapter on TM warthog sticktop I can make a warthog compatible with vkb. Could I not use the same adapter to make the Mongoose work with it ? Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk -
Different VR performance in Different Aircraft?
WindyTX replied to Falcaw's topic in Virtual Reality
I dont think the list is a bad idea given that any person is using their single hardware it gives you an idea of what to expect if you buy a new module. For me the Mig21 is indeed the worst for framerate and the Gazelle the worst of the Helos the F15 is the worst of the FC3 Aircraft no clue why. I am away right now but wiill try and put together a full list I know the Devs for the Hawk were being really careful because some of the lighting they tried to use killed the framerate. Anyway if we had a list then you would know what to expect prior to buying a new module based on the performance of another module in the list. Please be aware for those that spend a lot of time on multiplayer servers, the server has a massive effect on framerate along with the number of people on the server at the time. Effectivly the list will tell you what relative performance you can expect , still a useful guage. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk -
This looks great to me and I will definitely prepurchase both. All warbirds young and old are great, tho personally I dont quite see the point of the Tucano this is DCS after all. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk

Wizard struck the nail on the head . We all want F14 F18 Hind and Viggen. Programming takes time and we all have to eat I happily buy my modules from DCS and have them all. If we show support for the product then the product will continue to be improved and new modules will be made. Cheap out trying to get save a buck or 2 you are only cheating yourself and others out of a great product. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk

Lft ctrl and 1 on th keypad plus a rollback to 3.75.63 worked for me. I had a similar problem with framerate surging. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk -
Different VR performance in Different Aircraft?
WindyTX replied to Falcaw's topic in Virtual Reality
Absolutely it depends on the module programming. So yes different modules all give different frame rate. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk -
[Official] SimShaker for Aviators

Used my jetseat today with the new beta flying the su25T , really cool I was in the Rift clearing out a farp and was able to keep eyes on the Target and fly the Aircraft by feel knowing that I was max performing it thanks to the AOA vibration. Great increase in the immersion factor, I turn off the g effect as it tends to mask what the Airframe is doing. I have had the seat for 2 months now and am a big fan. Try it on the 16AGR multiplayer server it works great and the Helo VRS warning is also pretty helpful to say the least, especially in the MI8 slingloading a Tank :) Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk -
16agr is still recruiting if you want a relaxed unit with plenty of people happy to help and the 16 agr server is a great place to meet. The teamspeak server address is on the server info. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk

If you go to 16agr server you will find some sling loads that can only be lifted by the MI-8. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk

Where can you get the correct feed for the flying sensation. In a simulator as you move the stick it causes movement of the simulator but once you are in a coordunated turn the sim levels itself at a sub noticable threshold as the g force is straight down. Take the example of a car if you turn right the sim will roll left so you feel you are being thrown to the outside of the turn. In a 20 mill simulator it throws you around for changes of direction etc but then returns to level at a subliminal rate all the time to get ready for the next action. When you see a rejected take off the sim is about 40 degrees nose down. So back to my original question do we have the motion software available and is there a way to feed it from DCS. If there was I would happily cough up 3k. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk

Got it going thanks guys and it still lets me feel VRS :) Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
