  2. Err i was searching back through my threads to find this one... and now it seems a bit less clear. Is day 0 in the editor the 1st June or is the 15th day the 1st June? or is it the 15t June... or...I could translate this numerous ways. LOL :doh: EDIT: Never mind.. its the 1st June.
  3. Yes.. but it evolves editing the mission file manually. I'd only advise it if it is really important. I did it ages ago.. pre DCS World, but i doubt it has changed. It was a shag, and was more complicated than i expected it to be. You'll need a good text editor, go through the mission file and search for coalition and work out all references to countries. Each country has a ID number. You'll have to work out how to do it yourself, i simply cant remember now.
  4. The game has loads of suitable sounds.. Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Sounds\Speech\Sound\ENG\Common\Allied Flight\USA\1\CallSign in this folder you will find call sings, i use them to alert pilots of messages. If the flight is Tusk 1-1, use a tusk.wav sound.. There are loads.. \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Sounds\Speech\Sound I'm sure there are beeps etc too.
  5. FYI: On a quick test i did some months ago.. if a unit's AI was off before it was detected, the unit would not be attacked. If the unit was detected and then its AI was turned off it was attacked.
  6. I assume if you press the 'play' button on the trigger in the editor, if it plays, its supported. Try that. My present mission project has sound to coalition working without issue.

  8. Interstellar travel? Err any links to info would be appreciated. I didn't think we even had theoretical methods for interstellar travel.. even radio messages seem beyond us... Hmm will have to have a google... :book:
  9. Yeah using AI on / off in combination with AI tasks might work for you. (AI tasks can be reused without limit.) I often use AI on/off attached to a proximity zone trigger to activate 'fluff' to make missions look busy for the player. Player leaves.. fluff stops, player returns 'fluff' starts again.
  10. I'm surprised at the ratings on Steam, while not bad they are not where i would expect them to be: Ka50 : 82 A10c: 87 Both deserve higher.. especially the ka-50, when it came out there was nothing close to it.

  13. Look for fps saving mods in the User Files section.. I know there are a few there. I can't verify if they work or not.. never tried them. But i know they exist.
  14. If the Airbase is not friendly.. you will get the 'copy' response. If you hear 'copy' but nothing happens i'm pretty sure it means it is a bug. (if the airfield is not friendly there is no ground crew to talk to.. so no one to say 'copy' )
  15. It might well be very simple. But without a lot of info the only advice i could give is, unistall & reinsatall. TBH that is what i would do.. reinstalling does not affect any settings or options you may have spent time doing, nor does it affect activations... so if you have not tried, do it. Only advice i can give without knowing what you have/have not done to date.

It is almost impossible for anyone to give you any meaningful help with the info you have provided.
  17. Ability to influence AI engagement range, via a percentage. Ability to influence AI engagement range, via a percentage. If we could have a % value attached to engagement range for all AI. (maybe via Advanced waypoint actions.) Where 100% = AI engage at maximum ranges. (the present default state) 50% = AI engage at 50% of max range. (i.e SAM has range of 10km, they only engage at 5 km. And so on. If every AI unit had this as an option it would help massively in mission design.

  19. These can all be explained by one element. Variety in engagement conditions. Maximum ranges stated in documentations are generally maximum ranges in OPTIMUM conditions. For Air to Air the main factor is altitude. A missile fired at 10,000ft has a far short range to one fired at 40,000ft. Ground to air has similar variations. This is mainly down to 'air density'.. the air is more dense the lower the altitude, due to air pressure, therefore the missile uses more energy to travel through it. To be honest, as you become more experienced in mission making you will realise the issue is in fact the opposite to what you think.. the challenge is to stop missile being fired at their maximum range, as they are easily defeated when fired at max range. The trick is to get them to hold fire until they are at effective ranges, not max ranges. As it stands the AI by default always fire at max range.
  20. err what day does the mission take place on? If it is 0 and you've set them to arrive at the 1st waypoint on day 142..... well... they won't be moving very fast. More info is needed.
  21. Yeah there are some skins from BlackShark 1 that are still included in some missions. These skins are no longer available or have been changed in some way that means they can't be accessed. The only way to fix it is to change the skin in mission editor to one now available.
  22. Are you in full screen or windowed mode? SoftTH or not? If not using softTH you must use windowed mode otherwise you will crash to desktop.
  23. No you don't need both. For a watch tower i would just use: Weapons hold/hold fire (whatever it is called). And it will never fire. (I found in the past the ROE worked well but the Alarm State was a little buggy)

  25. Grimes are Alarm States all working correctly? They were flakey a few patches ago.. which has led me to avoiding them. Basically will state stay Green if set until you allow it to go otherwise. i.e will it stop AI from engaging.
