Just had my 1st sortie testing the Su-27 & HOTAS setup.. feel a bit disappointed. Does all feel very much like FC2 to me. I might do the same flight in FC2 to see if I can notice the difference, but as Op says.. landing, breaking etc all feels very rudimentary. Missiles were doing some weird physics defying stuff too.

Sounds like you are doing something wrong. If you have correctly turned AI off they will not fire or react to you. What trigger are you using to turn AI off? Id suggest: Mission Start > Random 100% > AI off.

I don't understand this at all. Seems a totally redundant request. So you are upset there has been no official statement regarding the release of old training videos simply renamed for FC3? Come on, surely you have more important things in life to get upset about. And regarding the development of FC3, Wags put out a statement that it was delayed as they were adding more content, he gave no release date, what is there to add? Just have some patience, it will obviously be released as soon as possible, that is what they want and what we want. And please don't talk for the community as a whole, because your views certainly don't represent me and I'm sure others.

Eh? What information do you want? The point seems pretty obvious to me, the training videos were ready & available, so why not upload them. Why wait for FC3 to be released? Its called spreading the work load. We all know Fc3 will be released soon, its already over a month later than originally planned, so why not release these now. It can only benefit us as customers and alleviate/spread server load. It's just a shame they are of very poor quality in regards to sound mixing.. i simply cant hear the 'voice' over engine roar half the time. :(

Firstly to be able to use labels you must have Labels on in your options screen. If they are enabled, then you will always see labels on when you first start a mission. If you start a mission and you can't see labels, it means they are turned off in that mission. Obviously if you are online you cant enable them. If you are flying a mission off line you can edit the mission to enable labels. i don't have the game in front of me, and i cant remember the name of the option, i think it is under miscellaneous or options, on the top bar of the editor.

There is no armed predators in DCS. They are solely used for AFAC tasks.

So you tried advanced waypoint > engage group, for each plane? (to the different targets of course) Personally i've to tried to do this, but it should work.

For the Hog there are many ways of finding targets.. but it massively depends upon mission design. AFAC, JTAC and the real ways pilots find targets the majority of the time. Or via detailed mission briefing. I'd imagine eye-balling targets, either with the naked eye or pod is unusual.

Hmm I've never used 'simplified radios'... not really sure how that works. (Playing since day1 of the beta release) So if i make a missions with numerous supporting AFAC, SEAD, CAS, AWACS etc flights do you just hear the whole lot the entire time? If so i guess that would be kind of similar to Option 1.

I'm curious to know, from a mission maker's perspective, what people prefer in regards to Radio frequency setup when flying missions. Personally Option 2 is my preferred system. Only having to alter the radio to contact individual JTAC and airfields. Whilst allowing you to hear all activity while in combat. The disadvantage is the radio chatter can be a bit too much. Not calling you stupid, I would never have assumed GUI sound option affected the ingame sound like that. :-)

You can tell planes to refuel via advanced way point options, not got access to the game, but the option is there.
