  1. I just have to mention I was going to stop buying fixed wing entirely. I seldom use it and forget all about what I learned about them in between flights. And now we are getting this, F 4 Phantom and Corsair. It is just not fair.
  2. I got two setups one with all Virpil and one custom made stick witch got hydronic dampers and can be self centred or choose not to self center. With latter stick with no curve tweaks I control the gazelle much easier than the Huey in hoover and small corrections. I can fly gazelle under a small bridge or in a hangar turn it and fly out again with no atmospheric interference. It also have little ground effect. I can do the same with Huey but it got a powerful ground effect and once it out of that it become less cooperative. And in bad weather harder to hoover up high than gazelle. I think gazelle got too little climbrate. But I am not a chopper pilot. I have controlled a 204 in level flight once. And that was more of an airplane experience. however after your post I tried gazelle for the first time with my Virpil controllers and indeed it was a different beast. So our different experiences is probably due to different controls. But still I believe climb rate feels too slow. I am not saying it is wrong, I just say I liked the fm before we got the lame duck version. The only thing I found problematic about that one was a somehow unstable flight when flying straight and level. It was hard to keep in same altitude. But I find what we have good enough. But somehow I feel it could be better. It lack something
  3. Personally I liked the agile old fm. The one in between could hardly get the chopper in the air. I can live with what we got now, but it do not feel like a 3 bladed light chopper anymore. It feel like an automated underpowered stabilised weapon platform. I always turned to the gazelle for fun and agile flying. Now one can compare it to the heavier two blades Huey , just more stable and easier to fly It got problems in hot weather more so than any other chopper we got.
  4. I wonder about the hierarchy among chopper pilots. Is this what you fly when you’re on top? I know you get rates on a machine by weight and number of engines. but is this something you apply to fly from the beginning or you advance into it?
  5. I would never skip this ship. But I prefer a Vietnam era version. To me Huey and chinook are symbols of that conflict.
  6. I hope they consider this. Mi8 is best ever module. And I like to keep old one with upgraded textures and one more modern version with dolphin nose.
  7. Thanks. I did not know this.
  8. I have my settings set after Mariana’s meaning if it could be fixed I could tune my graphics higher. I fly with a 3080 and G2 goggles.
  9. As probably all knows. This problem was fixed after latest patch. I did the campaign by hovering for a while to see if it took off. got a bit fed up and landed The ai chopper took off without hitting me. all fine and dandy
  10. When a man prefers to argue for hours rather than click a button and provide a track taking five minutes, he is in for the arguing not the help.
  11. You simply can’t be on the inter web. They asked for a track witch easily could be provided for by pushing one button. Arguing came when people wanting things fixed simply say no to push that button. The arguing was done by you. Because the reason is incomprehensible, I want help but I won’t do this little effort
  12. Sub base when landed there another mi8 is on the 1 pad already. When I land in the other pad and start loading people the other mi 8 take off and fly slowly and controlled right into me. this happens every time. I flown this campaign a lot before and this has never happened
  13. He passed away November 9. https://www.echovita.com/us/obituaries/fl/apopka/donald-burnette-17203992
  14. I am getting a bit worried our friend has left us. Nowhere to be seen since November 6. he told me if he had not posted in a week , we should raise our glasses and salute him.
  15. Yes personally I was most enjoying the transport missions And if you pay attention one knows where they want you to launch. It is really a gem of a campaign. I did wish for two. One as transport and one as gunship.
  16. I think I flown this campaign 7 times I bought it when it came out. I think it is the best campaign there is
  17. I had no problem with any triggers. I really liked early missions with transport of troops overall a very entertaining campaign.
  18. Apache will get its campaign soon enough. I am probably an old fart too. I do like to know all choppers in DCs so I learned the AH 64 pilot procedures. But I find it teadious and my main interest is flying choppers not handeling computer in a computer. I also do not find the US system very intuitive. when it comes to type of missions in a MI 8. I prefer transport, slingloading, medevac. Use of weapons I like to keep that to the door gunners. Reason for that is the MI 24. It is simply a better weapon platform. And a joy to fly. I like to do those in the Hind.
  19. Well my main reason for feedback is. I can see a lot of work gone into it and testing too. Mission 3 already stretch it very far when it comes to DCS capability to do what the creator wants. It is simply a piece of art in some aspects
  20. Not entirely. But they were there and did a very respectable job. Women pilots had to make an effort and being smart. And they was, first of most of them had licence to fly a plane in order to be accepted. So they were in an economically more comfortable situation and educated. It might have change later.
  21. I done the Huey mad campaign. But are stuck on the Gazelle campaign due to after delivered a sling load I simply cannot get the passengers I suppose they do not spawn for a reason. But until then I had to use some navigation tutorials in it to get that far. I like these knowledge demanding campaigns. After doing some other one tend to think one can do it all. Your mission prove otherwise I have big knowledge gaps in most of the modules. Huey campaign gave me a bit challange when it came to flying. very well done, planned and executed in my opinion. I am sort of a civil chopper pilot. I like navigation, sling loading and radio procedures. It seem like you know those things
  22. I really like the learning this campaign forced me to do. I apparently skipped some steps in the abris not needed in other campaigns and some things forgotten in past years. After just two missions I improved my knowledge on this wonderful module. I do like to be able to do as realistic flying and pilot procedure as possible. And you let me do and learn that. I am very grateful for this aspect

    Issues

I flown this back and forth since Lock on came out before that Falcon. But I always preferred ww2 until lately. DCS choppers are absolutely the best ever time thief there is. I run open beta and has been remarkable without issues software wise. Compared to msfs 2020 this is a breeze.
  24. I like a campaign for Syria. MI 8 is best ever module. All its campaign tsake place in -caucasus map, so I like another map this time
  25. No I had not, but I suspect it might be on my end. I just cannot replicate it in instant action. and other huey campaigns I fly do not have rockets. So I suppose it is not the campaign I however after reading this continued the mission. indeed the fog has improved
