It falls under your own paradox. It is a light recon chopper that flies excellent without any vices. Better armed than Gazelle, it is by far the best chopper to fly online with Campaigns will come. If your into transport only this is not for you. If you like Gazelle you will love this. It is your loss not ours

Wide angle and vr make the deck stretched. I wish cargo to unload closer to the chopper so one can unload on fregates

Unable to Taxi, using power/collective
LuseKofte replied to flyingscotsman's topic in Bugs and Problems
I might be wrong. In fact I am in danger of exposing total bollox. But I remember vaguely a chinook jockey started up and taxing still having those two control switches you are told to shut off when start up are finished and I do that together with using brakes when it act up. I can taxi with some dignity most of the time. BUT!!!! We need to remember and assume the developers know this and it is part of what we can expect being fixed. -
at 12k feet it could not longer fly stable... suppose to fly at 20k feet
LuseKofte replied to Ramstein's topic in DCS: CH-47F
I have learned to fly it pretty much the way I want it. But I would not call it stable in any altitude. I think we need to wait a bit to get it where we want it -
So you set the battery. Count slowly 1001 - 1002 up to 5005 with apu switch on middle position and then hold it forward to it start at least two seconds ? Because this bug is non existent with me. I suggest a slow repair if you are sure you do it correctly. This is on your end.

Never seen light artillery before. But I will try to hook it with mi 8 tonight

Yes only light artillery crash when hooked. rest works fine.

investigating engine shut down is impossible, trackfile attached

I usualy can stop just by setting the trust levers on off a few times it do not want to switch off. like this time. I went a bit hard on ground and damaged the chopper a little bit while slingloading. -
w.i.p ICU blinking , EAPS warning, few questions.
LuseKofte replied to grim_reaper68's topic in DCS: CH-47F
From partly hating this I grown to adore it. Systems that gives warning and is not implemented yet is a good sign. They obviously is going to be implemented pretty soon -
MI 8 pilots several of them stated that MI 8 got its quirks in special when slowing down. Wonderful chopper but with character. I do not enter vrs easily in mi 8, in fact I do not enter it at all and without thinking about it. but I do in the chinook. You simply need to be trained. I flown mi 8 every day available with some brakes due to Kiowa and now chinook. I move roadblocks from one side to another of the runway. Getting muzzle memory for hours. It takes many hours to Even compare yourself to even remotely to real pilots. To be a sim pilot you need exclusive continuous serious training to put yourself in that position

Things turn quick. Has this module secretly been updated? I can now manoeuvre it like a pro. My only fear is I trained myself to fly it with bad habits when new fm arrive. It took me a while to warm up. Now I can approach a sling cargo in full speed and stop at the right moment like I do in the mi 8. I got to fire up the mi 8 and see if the hook have messed up my normal chopper skills.

I would say that the devs know this. Getting the nose where you want it is one of the problems the fm has. I personally was very disappointed by its performance in the start. It took me a while to get that damn thing to do what I want. my one problem is ffb vp force Rhino FFB is not implemented yet. Secondly it is more hands on flying in this thing than in the Huey. You can actually do all these things with carefully managements of all controllers. I sure grown a lot of respect for the Vietnam pilots flying this thing. I come to the conclusion, that it do fly pretty good concidering the lack of very important system. If you disregard the loops and barrel rolls it is capable off now, and concentrate maximum on flying it how it should be. Preferably with high end controllers. You be fine. My guess is this thing going to be very hands off when finnished and almost can be flown with keyboard
-
In start procedure it states this must be turned on according to guide. But says nothing of being turned off In hotstarts this is turned off. Shall it be turned off after start up? During sling load I arm and choose all. Hook first load and release it another place. second load get hooked but unhook again and I have to switch off the arm and on again to get it hooked again after choosing that cargo again. Is this correct? Just wondering. Start to get the hang of it. Can’t wait until it is developed more

Search for bob. You find it. Once engage you move the stick forward to increase speed back for slowing down. Collective up and down for altitude. Sideways on the stick for turning. when disengaging BOB , don’t do it in full speed forward at low altitude. , make sure your nose do not point forward in that situation
-
Well you got the same impression as me in start. But! If you fly it within its envelope. With my stick. A Rihno ffb, the only challange I got now is straight forward flight and its tendency to nose down I will research trim a bit more. for takeoff ( most of the time) don’t move any controllers. And same goes for hoover. Keep control of altitude and only light correcting with the stick. A little bit of dead zone on rudderpedals can be adviced since a millimetre touch will make it respond and mess up your flying. If one use BOB the ai pilot for longer flying , this thing is not as bad as my first impression, I now feel a bit comfortable in it. And start seeing what they meaning about having a blast while transporting. One need to overlook the fact you can barrel roll it and fly inverted and looping every direction. If you follow procedures and give it a chance. Your feedback to the developers will be noticed. They are aware of the oddities

I like the Marianas quick missions. And as always after a while I start liking the module more and more. Not without faults but I think this is going to be a winner

You can do a loop in all choppers in all simulators. We area bunch of jokes if you ask me. I don’t care about that, I care about what it can do within its real envelope. This FM is not finished. I tested the Hind when it came and dropped it until it got an update. When I am satisfied with my button assignments I probably do the same with this. I did not fly the Gazelle two years , not in a row but when the tweaked fm did not suit my taste. Was this really a surprise for you? For what it suppose to do it is not worth spending time with. But I still had some fun with it. And will spend more time with it trying to have fun. But I was not surprised. I feel good sitting in that cockpit. I can almost slingload it with my dignity intact. I can easily land with a great landing pattern. I take off in it like a pro. I just can’t do anything right in between those things just now. It just not do what I want it to do. I see myself in a disadvantage having a ffb stick for the first time.

Well Bob needs to take over. And then I can fly another chopper I actually can operate. In my hands this chopper is all over the place in normal flight. Getting it in hoover and hook on external load is no problem.
-
Find it hard to keep om stable flight. I find Huey more stable than this. I know nothing about chinook but expected a more stable forward flight. Hoovering is sort of ok. But cannot maintain stable altitude and pattern. I guess I need to fly it more to properly give it a judgement. But I was proven wrong calling it a stable drone

Early access start to loose a lot of credibility among a lot of potential buyers. In light of turmoiled period we have been through , right or wrong this could not happened in a worse moment. I would not add petrol into this. But it puts things in a bad perspective -
I have huge problems in Afghanistan. At least some parts of it, some said it was related to a lot of things, among them weather. Yes Chinook fly crap in some bases there.

I shut them off with first attempt on first flight by using right click on the mouse on them then throttle
