My base is the original Thrustmaster Warthog base. On this base I'm swapping the F-16 and F/A-18 grip, as required. Second to that I also own a VKB Gunfighter with a TM Warthog grip and adapter. But on the Gunfighter I can only use the second Warthog grip, because the adapter needs to be built into the grip (by opening the grip and inserting the adapter with an aditional PCB). You can find the VKB to TM adapter here: https://vkbcontrollers.com/?product=tm-warthog-adapter

It's always displayed as "Joystick - HOTAS Warthog" in the control settings of DCS, no matter if used with the F-16 or F/A-18 grip. Both grips have the same number of buttons, so it's no problem to swap them. I only disconnect them from the USB-port while swapping. Don't know if it is really necessary, but I think it's safer. Yes, I'm using different profiles for each grip. But only because I have a customized button assignment for the A-10C and the F/A-18C.

I bought my Warthog combo in 2012. Still very reliable. The only thing I changed is the slew control (https://deltasimelectronics.com/collections/all) and I also bought the F/A-18 grip. I also own the VKB Gunfighter with a second Warthog grip and adapter, but I still use the original Warthog stick quite often, because the F-16 and F/A-18 grips can be changed very fast, with no adapters and no problems. I would buy the Warthog combo again, if mine would break down after more than 7 years of duty. :)

I tend to buy modules directly from ED. When making changes to DCS-World, you can be sure that they will be adapting their modules to the new versions. I am not so sure about third party vendors (see VEAO with their Hawk). That doesn't mean that I like no third party modules at all. Just take a look at my signature. ;)

norbot replied to falcon_120's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Paid upgrade? Anytime! :) APKWS and HMD would aready be enough for me. -
Backup all controller/keybind profiles with 1 button
norbot replied to HoneyBadger's topic in DCS Core Wish List
You can make it even simpler: xcopy "%userprofile%\saved games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input" "D:\Inputs_Backup" /E Then it doesn't matter on which partition your userprofile is located. :smartass: -
Yes! Would be really nice, if we could have a full A-4E module. A lot could already be done with the existing mod, if we could only use all the radio functionalities. I wonder why no 3rd party developer intends to simulate this interesting and versatile aircraft.
-
Thanks! It's a standard skin from the A-4E mod. :)

How about the F-104? It was built in much larger numbers and was used in significantly more air forces than the rather exotic Lightning.

I see it like Pate. DCS is a simulator. So important functions - and this includes the fatigue of the pilot under high G's - should be simulated. Of course, every person tolerates G-loads in different ways. ED could just take an average experience as a reference. To refuse such functions in principle, because DCS pilots only sit in front of a monitor and not in a real plane, I think is exaggerated. Then we can play arcade games right away, because sitting in front of the monitor anyway has nothing to do with real flight. I just wonder why the military are using simulators, too.

Do other games work normally or is it a general problem when graphics are switching from 2D to 3D? What's that F/A-18 cockpit in the background? Is that your wallpaper or do you get into the cockpit-view, before DCS stops reacting?

I'd say this: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/f-15c_dcs_world/ What makes you think those 4 Eagles in the video should be clickable?

Quite a long time since we heared anything from the developers. They must be on vacation. ;)

Yes! Thanks! :music_whistling:

Wouldn't it make sense to open a new thread called "Viper Mini-Updates" where Wags can post his academic videos only? Just like the "Hornet Mini-Updates". It's quite time-consuming to find his videos hidden among the other posts in this thread.

ME-163B by Komet Simulations
norbot replied to razo+r's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
I don't want to offend anyone here, but that's exactly what LevelPulse said: "... The model was just redone by combatace who has made a fantastic model that we can now use..." Did you have any problems with LevelPulse? Just asking, because I simply don't have any background information about this project. -
Great! Enjoy the A-4E! I think it's a really good mod.

Latest release is version 1.3.1 and the ZIP-file can be downloaded here (scroll down to the bottom of the page): https://github.com/heclak/community-a4e-c/releases/tag/v1.3.1

If someone is only halfway skillful, the conversion is no problem. Did it two years ago and it works perfectly. I would also like to make a conversion for my new F-18 stick, but there are no more adapters evailable.

Closed down power plants take decades to be dismantled and disposed of. The storage of the nuclear waste is another story. We probably can't even buy enough potassium iodide, to feel a little more comfortable... And I don't even want to think about what those "green" coal plants are blowing into the atmosphere. But hey, we're in good company. Take a glance at the US, China, Brasil - well actually almost every other country. One could get depressed, when thinking about it. So let's step into our cockpit and burn some kerosene! ;)

An option for a new cockpit and a new canopy glass?
norbot replied to Rabbisaur's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Sorry to say it, but I'm quite appalled, too. Where did I say the cockpits became filthy overnight??? -
Oooh, must be some conspiracy of the German government... Sorry guys, but I can only roll on the floor, when reading such bullshit...:lol::lol: Maybe look at this: https://presse.wdr.de/plounge/wdr/programm/2019/08/20190821_jodtabletten.html Germany has always had reserves of potassium iodide. Look at how may nuclear reactors there are in our country and our immediate neighbors.

Thanks man, thanks. Should have told it from the beginning.
