  1. Thrustmaster Warthog is a good start (https://shop.thrustmaster.com/en_gb/pc/hotas-warthogtm.html). If you feel, that you should have a better gimbal later, you may consider a WarBRD base (https://virpil-controls.eu/shop/bases.html) or a Gunfighter (https://vkbcontrollers.com/?product=gunfighter-mk-ii). I prefer the WarBRD because you can buy it as a base only and you can use your TM Warthog or TM Hornet stick without any adaptors.
  2. Like others said, you only need the Virpil-Software to create a profile and calibrate the hardware. After that you don't have to touch the Virpil-software again, if you don't want to. All the button and axis assignments can be done in DCS World. I'm using the WarBRD with the TM Warthog and TM Hornet sticks. No problems at all. The WarBRD is a very nice piece of hardware, in my opinion. Here's a picture I made.
  3. Sorry to say this, but that's just not true. Look at the A-10C, F-16C and F/A-18C. All of them are still in service, even in the US. And how come VEAO had a licence to produce an early version of the Typhoon? Just don't spread false informations, please.
  4. I have the VKP pedals and I'm very happy with them. I don't think the Virpil pedals are worse, when talking about the quality. I think it's the look of the products, that makes them different. The VKB pedals are more like helicopter pedals and the Virpil for the fixed wings. I'm flying fixed wings only and I just love my VKB pedals. They have a small footprint, are very stable and in the spring "high force" position with a strong center position of the cam they are just perfect. Owners of the Virpil may have the same opinion about their product... ;)
  5. Just a question. How often do you eject, so it is important to you that it looks nicely?
  6. I suppose you guys never are on holidays, are you?
  7. Good work Chuck! Thanks!
  8. Right! That's why the Supercarrier was my last EA buy. Next EA module I'll buy will be, when F-16, F/A-18 and Yak-52 are finished modules. I suppose that will be in something like two to three years. :pilotfly:
  9. Great news! Congratulations!
  10. Right! This is how I see it, too. You can't say it's in EA and then leave it untouched for 1.5 years. But the Yak probably doesn't sell as good as the fighter modules, so they have their priorities to where the $$$ come from.
  11. Like BitMaster said, it's quite important to have a proper cooling for your M2 SSD. I'm using this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Computer-Kryom-Passive-Cooler-M-2-2280-SSD/dp/B0742LYNWN/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?crid=15AP2SNOK1CYZ&keywords=aquacomputer+kryo+m.2&qid=1579726811&sprefix=aquacomputer+%2Caps%2C152&sr=8-1-fkmr0 and some 140 mm case fans, for a good ventilation.
  12. If you have the possibility of using two M2 SSDs, I think you should do it. A good M2 SSD (like the Samsung 970 Evo) has a reading transfer rate of 3500 MB/s. A SATA SSD will be at a maximum of 600 MB/s. That's quite a difference. I'm using a 256 GB Samsung 960 Evo as my OS drive and a 1 TB Samsung 970 Evo for DCS and other sims and games. Personally I think it makes a difference, if you're using an M2 SSD for your OS. But I never benchmarked my system with my old SATA SSD and then with the new M2 SSD. I just replaced the SATA-drive and I'm very happy with my M2 SSDs. ;)
  13. If you want to use it for DCS only, 1 TB should be OK. I think it's important, that you buy an M2 SSD with NVME, if your Mainboard supports it. It's much faster than a SATA SSD.
  14. Both launchers can carry 7 Hydra 70 rockets. But you can carry different numbers of lauchers on the A-10, like described in my first post. :)
  15. This is what the mission editor shows and I think it's quite clear, what kind of rockets you can choose. Normally the A-10 can carry 6 x LAU-131 or 4 x LAU-68 rocket pods (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairchild_Republic_A-10_Thunderbolt_II). HE stands for "high explosive" and WP for "white Phosphorus".
  16. I bought the Yak in August 2018. Quite dissapointing to see the pace it's getting developed and it sure isn't one of the complicated aircraft. The Supercarrier was my last EA buy for a very long time.
  17. No! And no need to explain why!
  18. Hm, Yak snipped again...
  19. I'm hoping for some news tomorrow, too. :)
  21. Does anyone here have a Virpil WarBRD and could compare it to the VKB Gunfighter Mk. III? Which one is your favourite and why? I have a Gunfighter Mk. I and at the moment I think about upgrading it to a Mk. III or give the WarBRD a try. :joystick:
  22. There's been a nice mod by DOL, including a Japanese carrier: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3996702&postcount=74 Didn't hear much about it since a few month.
  23. I would recommend to install Tacview (https://www.tacview.net/). If you crash again or get shot down, you can analyse what happened.
  24. What's the difference between M2K and Mirage?
