Are there any plans to update the HMS mode on Russian fighters to be more ergonomic/correct with the upcoming MAC? As of now we have Flanker legacy position when HUD was on the center of the screen. The way DCS changed the pilot eyes position it would help to update HMS as well ... right now I have feeling I am pointing with my mouth instead of eyes :smilewink:

Do you have any mods active? Have you tried cleaning & repairing the installation?
-
It might well be part of tehnical notes (mods) which do not require factory shop installation... In any case it is good to know.
-
59th_LeFty, I stand corrected. Thank you.

Check the following image... if you remove cutoff-idle zone, you can see it is close to what we have (it could be better of course).
-
I have G940 and while this might be an old issue I have noticed it the most with the recent mig29 release. If you set the deadzone in your axis mapping, the deadzone does not move with trimmer. This results in a dead spot and creates pitch control problems. To see/reproduce it easier, make sure that you have deadzone 10 or bigger. This bug is in present across whole DCS. I would recommend that whoever is going to fix this bug that axis curvature is double checked as well.

Dudikoff, You need to realize also one thing - SAS - Dampening. If you turn it OFF you will see that pushing stick forward will create full deflection. Also note that in real plane prolonged neg. G or near 0G flight can result in engine damage as Oil distribution will be cut. (not simulated in DCS :( )

9.12A & B have this restriction. However I have no documentation regarding this for 9.13. That being said, we do not have any G limits simulated either. You can pull past limit with full tanks... Yes. If you have flaps UP NWS HI mode is active in DCS while flaps DOWN LO mode is active. While Alfa is probably right in FC simplification, I think that if we need to press extra button for 27 NWS, I see no reason why not here as in HI mode it is very sensitive... well one can only hope for full module someday...
-
[deleted line regarding throttle as with latest OB this is much improved] NWS HI mode should be activated by pressing the "lock on" button when the flaps are up. Currently it's on just by flaps up. Gun should not be free to fire with CL tank. If manual engine start is used, left engine should be started first, currently it does not matter. Engines can be flown near 0 or negative G without limits which should not be possible. I guess these two are FC simplification across all FC planes... There is more but I tried to stay away from the avionics since we wont have any work done here until we get ffm...

Will HUD/HDD symbology be updated to be closer to reality or is this not planned?
-
I really hope MAC cockpits will get better simulation as currently its feedback is so low that it is actually making plane harder to use than it should be if this would been full fidelity module. While I understand the simplification of user controls and systems, cockpit should reflect in whole what user had set and not be let to the guessing game. It would been really nice to learn that we will with MAC finally be able to see switches reflecting the weapons, radar and _navigation_ settings... and last but not least things like chaff/flare counter which has its own textue in cockpit since flanker 2.5 (16 years!) and has never worked. :(
-
Cockpit is a lot to be desired... chaff/flare counter is still not working after forever, stick not aligned properly, etc... I really hope this is just a WIP.
-
Limit override is there.. you need to map it yourself.
-
What is new about the cockpit (sans glass texture)? Or better yet to what extend will we see the updated cockpit? Correct stick orientation, working decoys counter, etc.?

** AJS-37 Changelog / Update Master List **

cheating with data cartridges? in what way? you can always enter same data manually... bho -
Jojo, I stand corrected. The only way that TT matches the displayed screenshot is when vectors are PPI. It is very bad example if you try to show that such display is better than classical B-scope. Beaming target on classical has constant angle 90deg, while PPI one is rotating.
-
Pretty much this would be the first B-scope display to have such unique frankenstein representation and thus I have expressed my doubts and I am willing to accept it if there is more than "he said she said". In the mean time, you can produce some proof yourself.
-
Sorry but I am having hard time to believe that. Such implementation would make it oddball among all B-scopes out there... it makes it less sense than pointing vector at 6 o'clock to see it is going toward you... Do you have any written reference for what you are claiming?

Large rectangle is the limit zone of the antenna gimbal where you need to keep rhombus/small circle for datalink to work (it's same for r27r) Numbers on the right are Vc in m/s YTP is simulation mode KOHTP is bit test mode and those large numbers on the left are related to this.
