As a test I started up an intercept mission to see how soon I could spot targets. To date I've done very little A/A combat in DCS so we could call this a beginners perspective. Using F-10 map to help point me in right direction I flew towards enemies ( mid-size cargo planes) and each time I could first spot plane at just under 8 miles. Not saying they just popped up or that I couldn't see them any farther but casually playing and scanning around this was the result. I've heard IRL 8-10 miles is about as far as you can see another plane so to me this doesn't seem to bad. I have a 27" 2K monitor only.

Try rain with cloud density 8 or less and disable fog.

To adjust weather click on icon marked #1 On right side by #2 change cloud density and precip. Also right above #1 icon is briefing icon. Click on that and you can change date and time

There are single missions for FC3. They're just a little tricky to find. When you select FC3 single mission you see a blank folder. Open that. That opens to show single, EN, instant. Open EN folder and you'll then see the actual folders for FC3 missions. Open missions and all single missions for FC3 will be listed. Thought there was a few more for F-15 but there are only 2.

You said in 1st post you're a backer. Did you get a closed alpha access key?

Campaigns are made for a module on a map. What version it might be makes no difference.

All good my friend. You know how it is. We all get drawn to that one make or model that, to us, is the bike we must have and despite its problems we just deal with it. I wish I could afford a few more. Sport-Touring, Cruiser, Retro-Classic. I'd fill my garage in no time.:D

I think the P40 is the only other WWII plane we might see this year and that's waiting on new damage model last I heard.

Are Japanese bikes cheaper, more dependable, and easier to source parts. Yes, but they have no soul...no character. If I could find one that sounded like this maybe I'd consider that. I do like some Triumphs but even they sound like sewing machines. It does seem like liquid-cooled Ducs have fewer issues. I was hoping they'd come out with a Multistrada with smaller engine to make it more affordable but I guess that's not gonna happen. I guess I can't argue with that. My bike never starts on the first try and my last one had same issue too.

Are you aware of the registry fix required for Mig21? https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=185642 If you haven't already you need to deactivate Mig21, run registry app. activate Mig21.

No it doesn't. A good example of this is you can normally see trees (forests) 30 or 40 miles away in TGP when they're still popping up in your normal view.

You can also set laser code in mission editor before starting mission.

For whatever reason they pulled textures out that greatly enhance the detail. Adding procedural grass and new lighting effects/shaders must need to be reworked before adding textures back.

With the AV-8B and FA-18 coming out you're gonna want to be proficient with using multi-function displays, GPS, targeting pods anyways. May as well jump in the deep end. ...and going mano a mano with a grizzly armed with a Bowie knife sounds like something a Warthog pilot would do, not some cocky fly-boy F-15 pilot.

In game you can press esc in game to pause. Click on adjust controls On Controls menu where it says all click to open dropdown and go to cheat You'll find an auto start button combo there ( just niticed auto start not available for Viggen yet ) Normal start up procedures are all different and varying in complexity If you want to try a mission but don't want to do a cold start you can change to hot start or start on runway by opening mission in mission editor and changing it.

I'd recommend an instructional track day. Great way to sharpen skills.
