  1. They both currently land on the wrong continent when you use them. Otherwise they work great.
  2. Take off is half flaps, mil power (AB if very heavy), trim to 16º
  3. His example is not great agreed, but a clearer hud makes it easier to see things. That can not be argued.
  4. [uNABLE TO REPRODUCE][MERGED] Catapult Failed Launches Situation: Attaching a a light jet to a catapult, then rearming a heavy loadout results in a slow launch. Was expecting: When rearming while attached to cat, the launch should be of sufficient IAS to fly. Track of attaching light jet to cat, then rearming: https://www.dropbox.com/s/q8ncmo66k4u73nq/Takeoff%20Cat%20Bug%201.trk?dl=0 Track of attaching already heavy jet to cat: https://www.dropbox.com/s/a27870c6lla52rp/Takeoff%20Cat%20Bug%202.trk?dl=0
  5. +1 Workaround is to select HSI then DATA immediately.
  6. Yeah I think the colour is right, its just too opaque.
  7. Regardless of what real planes has ito AB detents (they all have those), most consumer throttles don't, so we need a different way of getting to AB that doesn't involve pressing more buttons. Just having 0-80% on the throttle do 0 - Mil and 80-100% does AB should work for everyone.
  8. Can't do that in Oculus Rift. Either way, setting in-game gamma to 2.1 makes the outside far too washed out and setting it lower like I have makes the cockpit barely usable. Something's gotta give. This is all separate from the HUD issue though, regardless of setting, that HUD eats too much light right now.
  9. Painter is correct. 22 46 22 should give you 22:46.37 on the HSI-data page (22 / 60)
  10. I think they’re saying the official guide has it opposite as whats in game. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Look at real huds, this one is cleary far too dark. HUD glass is clear but the coating my cause it to look darker at an angle. I personally have my gamma set to 1.6 in the Rift and I find myself looking around the HUD a lot in order to see things. Edit: Keep also in mind that gamma **Should** be at 1.0 actually, but we need to tweak it because we don't have brightness and contrast controls.
  12. I see, I didn't bother reading the guide. AFAIC the implementation is the truth as it stands.
  13. I don't understand why people are saying "We should get clarity from ED how they do this", we know how it is right now, lethal is outside currently. There is nothing to clear up here. The only question that remains is whether this is really true for the Lot20 Hornet or not but it seems that RWRs worked both ways IRL in the past so either is 'correct' to some extent.
  14. You can attack most SAMs with dumb bombs, only a few are really tricksy (SA-15, Tunguska), the rest are easily fooled by flying over them (Strela) or under (SA-6, SA-10, SA-8) then bombing them. If you fly straight in at medium altitude you're gonna get shot.
  15. The mods are great but we need ED to add this else we all struggle in MP.

    Frustrated.

The Huey has a natural tendency to turn right, lean forward and roll right on take off. You need to apply some left rudder, back stick and left stick before nudging the collective up (very very slowly). The Mi8's rotors go the other way so it is back and right, right pedal. Here's the official lesson:
  17. When it is completed it'll be as good as the Harrier / A10C
  18. You have to zoom. IRL vision is closest ito resolution per pixel as fully (or nearly fully) zoomed in.
  19. We need a separate brightness control and probably contrast too, in addition to gamma.
  20. Of those you ask for, only the F117 is anywhere remotely possible.
  21. Fuel flow doesn't tell you either because it doesn't add the extra FF from the burners...
  22. The A10C makes it a bit easier because the HOTAS is integrated with the TPOD and everything. You can also make mark points and stuff directly from HOTAS, for later automatic slewing and destruction. With the Harrier (and I guess the Hornet) there's a lot of MFD buttons pressing going on, no markpoints and the whole system is rather clunky in comparison.
  23. I'm sure IFF AND Flight model AND weapons AND some other stuff can be done in parallel. Its not like they all code on one thing and then move onto the next thing. Personally I'm not sure what I'd like next. I'f I had to choose between, say, RWR or IFF I'd choose the RWR first.
