  1. Basically, if you aren't using VSYNC=On your framerate will increase until either: your GPU hits 100% or your CPU hits 100% or Something else hits 100%. In your case, I'm guessing with pretty empty missions, your GPU is hitting 100% first. Go play on the GaW server and you'll see it'll be much lower.
  2. The AUTO bombing mode has some issues at the moment either way. Try bombing from 20k feet and see how they miss.
  3. PSA: At standard atmospheric conditions (15ºC at sea level, standard pressure) the temperature versus altitude is as follows: As you can see, you get to subzero temperature pretty quickly. Alt(m) Temp (Celsius) 0 15.00 1000 8.50 2000 2.00 3000 -4.49 4000 -10.98 5000 -17.47 6000 -23.96 7000 -30.45 8000 -36.94 9000 -43.42 10000 -49.90
  4. Please, please, please, I beg you to swallow your pride and just give us this extremely reasonable thing. The Mi8 has the options for clean / dirty canopies, no reason you can't do the same, with probably 30 mins worth of work. People ask all the time whether the Mig-21 is worth it and most of us keep saying, Yes, yes it is (despite some issues with the FM and this canopy debacle). However, if this ridiculous behaviour continues, I for one will strongly advise these people to stay far away from your products until you start showing that you are in fact interested in making and supporting quality products. For the moment that doesn't seem to be the case and I'm left feeling that your products are now at a dead end, unsupported and practically vaporware.
  5. Because I shouldn't have to mod my game to make it correct. Why are you in this thread anyway, nothing here impacts you as far as I can see.
  6. The attitude of some the magnitude 3 devs are not great. Cherry picking a video showing the one thing they seem hell bent on proving to us is 'realistic' is just pretty dumb, let's face it. Childish even. WTF. Either way, here's a video showing a real mig21 with a clean canopy. They don't all look like they stood as gate guards for 30 years.
  7. This is correct. Small adjustments on the throttle, esp when lowering it, then wait for the lag and drop/rise.
  8. I made a mistake. The water splashes from guns in DCS isn't exactly 5m+ high. Its 20m+ high, REGARDLESS of the calibre used. It always seems the same size and I think its the same as a bomb hitting right now. Now, even the Mig15's 37mm shouldn't have enough energy in the explosive to do this. The result is that when you do things like strafe gun boats, the splash from a single shell hitting will completely mask the entire boat and seems pretty ridiculous. 9. The M2000 loses its payload easily when you disable the 6G limiter and pull more than that. I would expect the Hornet to have a similar 'feature' but not sure if that is the case. Those pins holding the bombs are only SO strong, afterall.
  10. Human eye has an angular resolution of around 1 arc minute -> 3cm at 100m -> 3m at 10km. More or less.
  11. Simple enough, when firing guns into the water the splashes are HUGE (5m+) and from what I've seen on youtube, this is not the case, even for big calibers like 30mm.
  12. Its not THAT bad. The reflections are a bit annoying but it's most definitely not un-flyable.
  13. It has to connect to the ship's INS, GPS can't give you good roll and pitch information without having at least 3 antennas and even then it won't be as good as the INS. GPS altitude accuracy is poor, in addition. Heatblur has a post about their INS implementation that explains a bit about this stuff.
  14. I find that while I survive missile hits often, my fuel tanks don't and I will be out of fuel in about 20s.
  15. Is it not something to do with switching on the electronics before you've switched on the AC power switch? I know the radar breaks if you switch it on before the AC switch.
  16. You are supposed to set them before you use them, this is another safety layer to avoid dropping live bombs where you don't want them i.e. imagine they were armed and you pull too hard over the airfield, they come off and land somewhere and exploded. Needing to set the fuses before use avoids this from happening.
  17. Yes it did. I’ll try it again tonight and align the INS manually. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I flew mission 2 last night. My M2000 was set to always have INS aligned. Took off, got to the place where the flight breaks up to perform their tasks. I noticed that my waypoints as shown by the INS was offset by probably 10nm to the north compared to what the kneeboard shows. I flew around for prob 20mins thinking I'm doing my job and only when I ventured to the where the kneeboard shows the waypoints, did the tasking actually start. I wasted a lot of fuel by then so I flew into the container for fun ;-) Either way, I assume we have to disable "INS always aligned" along with Easy Comms?
  19. So here's the kicker, if you preload too much, your ram MAY get filled up and then it'll start swapping to page file which will cause bad performance. In that case more ram will be better. However, making preload radius less can help to avoid that. If preload radius is at 100% and you're all good it means you like aren't running heavy missions and 16GB RAM is enough and therefore adding more ram will do nothing.
  20. Depends on a lot of things. I would say No, for the most part. DCS only comes close to using a full 16GB under very special circumstances. Lower your preload radius if it gets too close. I have 32GB and I still lower it to reduce loading times.
  21. The Mirage has a lower thrust-to-weight ratio than both the F-15 and Su-27 (if they are at 50% fuel or less). To beat a M2000 in a guns only fight you need to drag it really slow. It doesn't like turning when below 250knots and then you can outturn it. At higher speeds it has way more nose authority but sharp turns makes it lose energy fast. Careful though, if you do try to drag it slow but the other guy doesn't go for it, you'll be slow and he'll be fast and you'll still be dead.
  22. I think it'd take a landing or two. You don't design an emergency arrestor that's weak enough to break on the first use.
  23. Nope and likely you won't get it either as motion like that will likely cause severe discomfort ;-)
  24. Seems like it has the same one as Mig-21Bis but may some dev magic will give us an SPO-15 retrofit ;-)
