  1. You are absolutely right. I don't think you need extremely high detailed units, but they could use an overhaul. Obviosly, the most important thing is to give them the right equipment and weapons (HMG, LMG, ATGM, sniper rifles and so on).
  2. Hi Miro, I didn't quite understand if you meant that you would be glad to have the 60th anniversary version included, or that you are glad that it is included. The liveries I made come in three versions: 1. The standard livery 2. Barak 2020 version, with the barak 2020 logo near the intake bort numbers 3. 60th anniversary version, if that squadron ever made one. *There isn't a version that has both of the decals (60th and barak 2020). I decided it would probably confuse people. They are all packed together, so if you downloaded the 117th livery, you also got the 60th anniversary one. 60th anniversary decals:
  3. Every delay gives ED more time to cpmplete their DCS:Rhino module, right :P?
  4. @Kev2go I think it has something to do with the stroke around the letters. It's almost gone, and it makes it hard to read the symbols.
  5. Today I realized that you can fly at relatively high speeds (130-150knots) with your canopy still open. If you look at NATOPS, the airspeed limitation suggested for flying with the canopy open is 60 knots. "Attempting canopy opening in headwinds of more than 60 knots or in gusty or variable wind conditions may result in damage to or loss of the canopy." I'm not familiar with every incident involving flying with the canopy open, but I find it odd that you can keep your canopy until reaching 150-160 knots during takeoff (standard mission, no winds). If NATOPS is to be taken seriously here, you should not be able to exceed the recommended airspeed value by that much, without suffering any consequences. The only consequence modelled in DCS at the moment is losing the canopy entirely. This seems to be a common value shared between the Hornet, Viper and Hog, despite the differences in canopy shapes. Other planes like the Eagle lose their canopy before reaching 100knots. Attaching a track of losing the canopy at ~160 knots during takeoff, and a picture of the plane losing the canopy at 168knots while flying over 18,000 feet. Hornet canopy detachment.trk
  6. New weapons are not brought into the game for no reason, but only as a part of a module. 9X was introduced with the Hornet. It could have been introduced before, but it was added as part of the development effort of the Hornet. And this is why I'm saying- if it's not a part of the scope of the module, it won't make it in. They have to manage their resources and this is one of the ways.
  7. They have to limit the scope of the program, which is seemingly a concept you don't agree with (based on previous comments). Limiting the arsenal is one of those methods, wether you like it or not. They don't have to develop it forever.

    Pushback

Land, dont move- hit alt J. This will initiate the same parking sequence used by the AI, but it will move you to third person view. Make sure you land first - because otherwise it will launch your plane for a lap first. Hitting alt+j again will respawn your plane on the deck.

    MPCD

It will only work with the map disabled. Not sure if it's a bug or not.
  10. Source? You are the only one bringing that up.
  11. Delete the skin you have, and download it again from the user files section of ED's website. As I said- ED changed the way bort numbers are displayed on the Viper in the recent 2.5.6 stable update. In case you are using my version - here's the link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3308782/
  12. It's a user made livery. What version of the game are you running? IIRC Stable is the SC patch, and in that version ED made a few changes to the way bort numbers are displayed. Updating the livery will solve that problem.
  13. You can only select it once the map is not displayed. When you do, however, it works backwards.
  14. That's how it is.
  15. Yes, it matters. New tech is usually applied to new modules first (wing vapor is a good example). The Viper was released after the Hornet, and the A10C cockpit upgrade was done after the Viper was released. They both received this feature. I think this feature only applies to the Viper and the Hog at the moment, and will most likely be added sometime in the future.
  16. Unavailable X and Y A/A Tacan: 1-36 , 64-99 Degraded T/R (X and Y): 1-29 Degraded T/R (X only): 47-63 Degraded T/R (Y only): 64-92
  17. 20Y is unavailable in A/A and is degraded in T/R. I don't think it's a bug.
  18. Other than the Viper and the Hog, which modules have that option?
  19. You are right, but it's still a big task. All I'm saying is: if you intend to do it - do it right. Introducing new terrains without fitting AI assets will come back to bite you sometime in the future (possibly when the dynamic campaign is here). I would like to have a decent representation of all factions involved. That includes some organizations like ISIS and Hezbollah which have no actual representation in-game. This means not just technicals, but the infantry operating them - and their weapons, anti-tank guided missiles, drones, and so on. I am willing to pay more for those maps if that means we get a constant stream of modern AI units, like the WW2 era ones.
  20. Agreed. Assets should be added to represent the factions involved in that conflict. That is true for every map, including, for example, the Persian Gulf. However, that's a massive task. Imagine having to create new units for the Turkish army, the Syrian army, IDF, rebel factions, ISIS, and so on. AI ground units and assets can't lag too much behind the maps and terrains and the issue will have to be addressed sooner or later.
  21. Is that so? Take a look at this picture. It's not that unusual for trees to be bigger than some buildings. https://i.middle-east-online.com/styles/home_special_coverage_1920xauto/s3/2018-12/damsyrs.jpg?O0cZmVLE6FAky4EsOUMEZqMhvhfr1duU&itok=Hk_uY1QL In case you don't recognize it from the recent video, that's the four seasons hotel and surrounding area.
  22. This video could become a good series. Have you considered doing the same for Beirut/Haifa and the surrounding areas?
  23. The Syria map was not released yet. You will have to buy it, and once you do you will be able to use any plane on that map.
  24. I'm talking about CASE I. Trying to visually spot the round down so I can tell when to start turning towards the carrier.
