Round down - got it :) my bad. That helped a lot, thank you for posting. I didn't want to do it at first, but I might have to make it brighter just on my end.

By that, you mean a stock version of block 30 or 40, which wouldn't do it justice. You will need to have access to the avionics systems added / modified by the IAF, and the specific weapons used - good luck. Additionally, it uses fewer weapons and sensors than the version ED made (single seats rarely use the TGP, and also no HTS), so arguably it will be less fun, will cost ED more, and will sell less.

Protective Edge? No one. The area of operations is not on the map- it's not even near. Try the second (or first) Lebanon war.

I don't know if it's a setup thing, or if it's me and I should get used to it, but I can't spot the rundown of the supercarrier on time without excessively zooming in. I find it just not bright enough to spot at 1.2 nm abeam in DCS. With that being said- I have a few questions: 1. Do you spot it easily? What's your gamma set to and what monitor are you using? 2. If you can't spot it, do you use another visual reference instead? 3. Naval aviators of the forums - during deployment, the deck will eventually not stay as clean. Is there a requirement to keep the rundown cleaner than the rest of the deck?* (asking because of this picture) What do you think about the texture of the deck and the contrast between the rundown and the deck texture? Should the rundown be more white instead of gray? *Some of it probably has to do with the fact that planes don't land or taxi near that spot, but I just want to make sure.

I don't think it's a bug. It just wasn't implemented yet.

Trust me- what I asked for doesn't exist in the sim, and I know why I picked this example (there isn't a system that simulates the correct rudder input during all phases of flight and combat). Making the game accessible to everyone comes at a cost. I can simply bind the rudder axis to my HOTAS the same way other people can avoid AAR, by flying missions that don't require it. Oh, and no. I don't think of a single AAR improvement (aside from the tanker announcing a turn in advance) that would make it easier. If anything, it's too easy in DCS, and doing it wrong has no real consequence since the drogue/boom has no hitbox.

That part of the Hornet is not true to life. The same goes for the A10. I think they did it so you could still use the JTAC (the AI JTAC in-game can't change the laser code).

Because creating those systems is wasting precious development time. Time spent on those is time not spent on more important things (I can name a few AAR improvements that are way more important) I'm an amputee. Am I supposed to ask ED for an "easy rudder mode" so I could fly helos / ww2 birds easily?

DCS: F-16C Viper Screenshots and Videos (NO DISCUSSION)

Well, to me it seems like most people don't want to invest the time necessary to learn it because it isn't a "flashy" skill. Those guys will put in the time to learn how to use every weapon, but when it comes to anything else - nope. You can break it down to smaller chunks without forcing the devs to create a new system from scratch. AAR is formation flying - if you can't maintain your position you will never be able to take fuel. Learn that first. Then learn to take just 1000lbs with no turbulence and when the tanker isn't turning. Then up the difficulty with different load-outs, weather, tanker flying patterns, etc. It's all there in the sim.

@MAESTR0 - Is the airfields list final? I noticed you are missing some - T4 and Shayrat for example.

Can you penetrate the roof of those HAS with the available armament in DCS?

Any chance for an update regarding the progress of the F18?
BarTzi replied to nickos86's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Let me get this straight, are you suggesting ED's staff of coders stops everything to read posts here? How is the OP interrupting anything? ED has ways to communicate these sorts of things to the community if they choose to. It's usually done via a mini update or a post by a community manager or a senior staff member. Why are you making such a big deal of one guy politely asking for an update? -

They decided to move to a monthly update to produce a more stable, controlled build. They didn't say if and how it will affect the development of the Hornet itself. Asking for a status update regarding their goals is fine. -

That's not what he asked. I think he knows when the next update is planned to be released. What he is asking for is a mini-update. All we know is that they focus heavily on bug fixing at the moment. I don't think we should expect any major feature/addition in the next update. -
I was wondering if there's anything I can do to improve the accuracy of the multiplayer tracks (replays). The problem I'm having is that my plane (and only my plane) is out of position. I know that the combat portion of the tracks is somewhat random (A/A for example), but I can't even replay a track of me flying in formation with two of my friends, because my plane flies nowhere near the original position and ends up in the ocean. Why is that happening?

This isn't an aircraft, it's a software simulating one. They have to pick a timeframe and stick with it. Everything else is outside of the scope of the program. Do you want them to never finish it?

Is that a livery you made? The background is hard to understand at first - but it's actually determined in the description.lua of the livery. Sharing the description file itself will help us point you in the right direction. That's why I asked if you made the livery. If you didn't it's best to try and contact the original creator and have him update the skin (I'm not a huge fan of modifying someone else's work like that - but that might be only me).

Can't Get Above 160 Knots After Update...

Did you set your T/O trim properly? -
"Everything is subject to change", and yet- T4 (Tiyas Military Airbase) is noticeably absent from the layout and airfield list that was posted earlier. Since T4 is well within the detailed area of the map, I just wanted to ask if there's an intention to include it with the initial release. Thank you for your outstanding work so far, Ugra Media :)

Hi guys, I recently watched a clip from Jetstream that might indicate a small error that relates to the symbology in AUTO mode. As depicted in Jetstream, the target diamond should be displayed above the release line - in such a way that the line never covers the inner part of the diamond. The following pictures from the show will help you understand what I'm talking about: Watch the places where the release line intersects with the target diamond. Additionally- you can watch the full clip here: (start at the timestamp and watch what happens as the diamond crosses the release line both when it's full and when it's dashed). In DCS, however- it's the other way around. This makes it difficult when you want to mark a new target, since the line obscures the new target position (the dot inside the dashed diamond) I know that Jetstream isn't the best source, and that you need evidence from the USN Lot20 - but I think it's worth looking into.

Tiyas military airbase (AKA T4), was noticeably absent from the airfield list. Is it a complete list of all of them?
-
This is one of the default liveries of DCS. I don't think you should change anything since it might break the integrity check. The best-case scenario is to wait for ED to adapt their liveries to the new bort number system they introduced. I don't think it will be too long before they address this.

I've had no issues with it. Anyhow, some tips: If you are having issues with a weapon system, it would be wise to create a track where you start from the air. You did many things unrelated to the MAV-E and I had to speed it up for a while before I reached the parts that were relevant. In the track itself, no laser codes were changed (pod is lasing at 1688, and the Missile is tracking 1111). The word CODE is flashing on the hud to indicate that. When I took control, changed the laser code, and made sure the laser was armed - it fired with no issue (long pickle).
