  1. This is not at all unusual at “Willie”
  2. Really? That’s too bad. I almost got hit by a train wandering around between the airport and the river after dark one time. Looked in my mirror and all I saw was the front coupler on a switching engine! Good Times!
  3. We regularly see Talons (USAF and NASA), Vipers, Hornets (including two stops by the Blue Angels this year), Harriers, Herks, C-17s, Omega Tankers, KC-135s and AN-124s as well as USMC Helos / Osprey at Mesa Gateway Airport East Phoenix. MGW used to be Williams AFB and 3 x 10,000’ runways are hard to pass up. We also get transient military at Sky Harbor as well. PS, I spent time in Primos, Havertown and West Chester back in the 80s. Used to love to go spotting at PHL back by Ft Mifflen.
  4. Far from it, but whatever...
  5. The jet moves to reduced control authority (similar to gear down) with the AAR door open. Really shouldn’t need A/P to dampen anything.
  6. You actually didn’t make the wrong choice. Beta was the superior format. Beta was used for years professionally in both TV and Radio. The force was just stronger with VHS marketing in the consumer segment.
  7. AI Jets will “crawl” home this way. Very low altitude and airspeed at very high AOA until they too run dry and the pilot punches out.
  8. Best NTTR Layout Available: http://www.476vfightergroup.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=403 This took a LOT of work so please consider a donation.
  9. Summer In Texas .. It’s the A/C
  10. So the TBirds maintainers don’t bother to check the gear alignment? They don’t bother to make sure that centered pedals means a centered nose gear? They don’t bother to check if the controls are rigged properly? They figure the pilots will just overcome anything out of spec with training and skill? And lose the condescending tone there ace.
  11. Neither can overcome something that happens in an unpredictable fashion.
  12. I don’t think it’s too much to expect at least a proper six pack of instruments to be working from day one.
  13. So how do the Thunderbirds takeoff in Finger Four without hitting each other?
  14. It lacks an accurate altimeter which, in the real world, would mean it would be grounded. Brakes are not properly balanced and ground handling is unpredictable. Gucci Bling is nice, but a properly fleshed out airplane would be nice.
  15. Because dropping 500lb bombs is good healthy fun! j/k
  16. I think the run up percentage depends on which engine you’re running. It’s different for P&W than it is for GE.
  17. In the standard, “stand by” orbit, tankers bank 30° Once you close to inside of a mile and the tanker drops the boom, they only bank 10°
  18.
  19. Mk 1 Mod 0 Eyeballs are your only warning.
  20. And compared to the Hornet, the Viper is easy so this must be Cessna-like.
  21. You can make very similar runs through the east / west mountain valleys south of Lar in the PG map.
  22. Not even close. AL ANG bird landed long and a little hot due to canopy fogging and never had a chance.
  23. Isn’t the Slap Switch “Program 5” ?
  24. Same Effect..Same Thinking
  25. Feels to me like the jet has no weight on the wheels. It's like it's always on wet pavement or ice.
