  6. Well, you’re probably going to fly a published instrument departure or some standard visual departure which would take you to that point anyways.

Noticed something today on a canned Viper mission (the one where you bomb static SA-10 launchers and then a hangar at Lar): I noticed that waypoints were not being deleted or eliminated, I think they were being consolidated. That is to say, in A-G .. CCRP Mode, Target waypoints 4 and 5 ended up stacked on top top of each other at waypoint 4. It looked like waypoint 5 went away, but it had been pulled to where waypoint 4 was due to the TGP slewing issue. Here’s hoping the next OB update fixes this per Wags.
  8. In our group, I think just leaving WP 1 blank (and let it just be the Initial Point) is going to probably become SOP and just start every flightplan on WP 2.

  11. If you’re going to allow WIP issues to sway your choice for long-term enjoyment, then I respectfully suggest you opt out on the Viper / Open Beta.
  12. Having flown almost nothing but the A-10C for about the last two years in a really solid squadron, I'm finding the transition to the Viper to be relatively painless in terms of operation. Much, much, much to learn though to effectively fight in the jet! Did I mention that things happen a lot faster? LOL
  13. After playing with the modes some more, it's definitely following a True North course and not Magnetic. You need +6 degrees on the heading bug for Caucuses and +12-ish degrees for Nevada.
  14. TGP Slaves to TGT in CCRP mode (provided you have a steerpoint on the target) but even if you put the TGP in POINT TRK mode, the TGP resets if you change to CCIP. Shouldn't the TGP be "divorced" from being driven by A-G Mode once you move it manually and select a spot for it to stay? As it is, you can't make multiple CCIP passes on an area relying on the TGP to guide you back which strikes me as counter intuitive. Track Attached. TGP Does Not Stay Put.trk

  17. I understand the concept of “Gateway Asset” but some official word on what’s actually coded would be nice. What should we actually see across a DL both with and without an AWACS and who can actually link to who natively?
  18. Same as the Hornet. AI Hornets show up on the TAD. Human-flown do not.
  19. Some clarification from ED on AWACS’ actual data capability would be nice.

So here's my findings on this... 1) Standard Day Hot Start @ Nellis NW EOR @ 1869' MSL - Analog Altimeter and HUD display the same value of 1870' @ 29.92" (close enough for government work) 2) Standard Day Cold Start @ Nellis NW EOR @ 1869' @ 29.92" - Analog Altimeter wakes up showing 1810' - HUD Displays 1870' 2) Non-standard Day Cold Start @ Nellis NW EOR @ 1869' ("Summer Clouds And Wind .. Pressure reported as 29.72") With the Kollsman Window showing 29.72": - Analog Altimeter reports 1740' - HUD displays 1980' And at no time does changing the pressure in the Kollsman Window of the analog altimeter change the altitude displayed in the HUD.
