When it finally starts falling into place......
The_Tau replied to CPS_Bomber's topic in Heatblur Simulations
@IronMikeI always wondered, what does that blue line in graph mean? -
well you can have to see files but not actually record battles. Some servers record and publish it online so you can still see the battle without losing a frame. Highly recommend to watch tacview. You learn a lot from it, especially in BVR
-
Well that MH in your screen is actually "TH" its just TID is reusing symbology to mean something else, like AL is not Altitude but Nav Grid size angle in your case 50 degrees
-
40ish NM. Tacview-20220905-230204-DCS-F-14B BVR Su27.zip.acmi

Against AI its crucial for bandit to stay high. As AI now mimics your altitude if you stay at 40-45k even after you fire I would rather switch MLC off than dive below the bandit. If bandit stays at 40k when missile is 10nm away I noticed there is much higher chance of 54 having enough energy to hit them But that is kinda pure DCSism AI

I actually managed to beat that mission but I must say, 54A seeker is really a gamble here and you must be lucky. Even if you do everything correctly 54A seeker may just eat the chaff and there it went. Basically I made my wingman in trail 50-60 miles and I go alone, climb!! (50k), fire 3 54s (save 1 for later pitbull shots) at 50-60 nms, split S, wait for JF17 to reorganize after first attack, send wingman to engage, then turn around to support him and hope that 54As actually hit something. I turned MLC off in RIO pit, we fight over water so AWG9 should have much easier job maintain track ECM makes JF17s fire later so I use that on wingman as well I am adding tacview https://we.tl/t-yYdPwE2J0Y (This was my 8th take on this , clear example why C is superior to A, as it should be)
-
Ah that would explain. I always wondered how PD STT get range on target.
-
I always make my own cartridge and flight profile when I fly Viggen. Its so awesome you can do it on the fly
-
Same for me, never works. I use also the gun/magic selector button. but even without that
-
Anyway to make it a possiblity? I mean best way would be to have custom IFF codes, but i think I ask too much. Invisible farp was a way around....
-
BTW when it comes to Jester's tacan. Every time you ask him to change tacan mode for example T/R to A/A he also changes selected tacan from NFO to Pilot or viceversa everytime. Its a bit annoying
-
Well I noticed that Radar aspect switch in Nose for sparrow shots makes tracking better. Doesnt fix all the sparrow issues but it gives noticeable less chance of missile eating chaff
-
I guess it makes sense if you analyze second Gulf of Sidra Incident (Ward Carrol explained it in his video US 4 - Libya 0), when RIO was running intercept with cranking and MiG-23s were "turning into him" all the time, which he saw as hostile act. In the same time E2 apparently didn't saw any course changes from MiGs
-
Huh maybe that, but I am using rudders to aim on target ;). Gonna need more training then. Thx

ED should make some kneeboard page with current MagVar like HB in F-14
-
Shouldnt be GBU24 lased all the way? even before you pickle you should start lasing isnt it?
-
And what does it mean?
-
I think server was up all the time
-
Yeah the gun reticle with radar lock is not exactly accurate, Not sure if intended by HB. I have to position my crosshair on the nose or even slightly ahead of nose of the bandit for accurate shots. But even then shots can go to the left or right of bandit. Sometimes I have to walk the tracers on target a bit WWII style.

As I recall CV is 100k ton of metal which has effect on magnetic compasses. If I understand correctly, using Comp should give you bad reading because of that. The CG - gyro should work independently from that if you aligned gyros properly before hand. Please correct me if I am wrong
