Jammer in F14 is very effective vs FC3 MiGs29s and Su27s it is breaking their lock and they are literally unable to fire at you. On other hand Su27 jammer is also very good and you only get burnthrough range at like 22nm

Personally I use add on GPS NS430 module for such functionality.

You cant make radial out of waypoint. Only way you can do similar result is giving waypoint speed and heading in RIO seat and following the line on TID (roughly, as it wasn't designed for it, keep in mind MagVar).
-
I guess it shouldnt go backwards but you are asking impossible from AIM54 in those launch and target parameters you set... its not "better" aim120, Phoenix have very specific launch parameters and there was a reason why f14 could carry aim7s as well..
-
Well there is one way to avoid it. Fire at specific 54 parameters. Minimum launch height needs to be 30k, best at 40k or even higher. Faster is better, best supersonic (duh) but for 54 specifically Height>speed If the bandit is lower then 20k feet I wouldnt fire from longer range then 20-25 nm (STT, its too close for TWS) if bandit is below 10 or on deck, 15 nm really (so STT). (in all those scenarios I would be 30k feet at least) If both you and bandit are on deck then MAR is like 8nm and lower (basically as long the motor burns on 54). @RallyNH @MarkMD

So I decided to do my first ever playthrough series with replaying Zone V campaign I will try to keep with all the procedures like in RL and "try" not to Over-G the aircraft Please use timestamps in video description to jump to part you would find most interesting! I hope you will enjoy it like I did!

I would like to point out that where Bio mentions "perform intercepts" I am pretty sure he is referring to this This one explains the basics, whats shown on TID and basic intercept gameplans↓ This one for missile employment↓ This one for arriving at offensive position for FOX 2 or guns at merge Shoutout for @Karon for fantastic job on subject. Strongly recommend to check his website and e-book! https://flyandwire.com

Apparently Jester do switch CMS to off when asked but only when pilot is in Air to Air mode. In any other mode he just doesnt do it.

Where is this file? in Saved Games? I cant find it, only view.lua for specific modules/mod aircraft

so we have no radar altimeter at all in F15C and no pressure dial, nice...
-
HB said that RL in PDSTT all 54 variants should be Semiactive all the way and 54 Cs should go active on its own only when lock is lost However due to limitations of DCS, currently 54C will go active on its own in PDSTT even if lock is preserved until impact. (I suspect its using aim120 code)
-
We have radar altimeter in HUD?
-
What about when you are in the air? Or switching to standard pressure?
-
What is the reason that F15C we have in DCS doesnt actually show what pressure altimeter is set? We can change the pressure but we dont know to what!

Feedback Thread - F-14 Tomcat Patch, Dec 16th 2022
The_Tau replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Hmm is it just me or F14B feels much draggier and heavier after patch. It seems I cant reach same speeds as before with same loadouts while on buster... @IronMike Also wheelchockes disappear on their own if you have them on, go full buster and go idle. At least on land -
You need to know Jester limitations and that are he can only input ONE waypoint at the time, if you try to order him to add another waypoint WHILE he is still inputing previous waypoint then HE will overwrite current A/C Lat Long. So wait until he finish typing 1 Lat long AND alt before next Lat/long request. This is clearly Jester worst habits, and I suspect issue is that as soon you ask him to enter waypoint he immediately presses half trigger button on HCU for some reason(@Naquaiiplease? :)) When you are aligning on carrier make sure that carrier itself is not changing course when Jester switches INS system from aligning (alignment completion bar on TID) to "INS" (tactical display on TID). If ship is turning, its best to disable Jester, while INS is aligning, wait until carrier settles on course and then reactivate him. You can release breaks and taxi when alignment caret changes into diamond Check manual for more details. (@Naquaii New Jester alignment option? - "Wait on pilot command to switch to INS"?) For STT losing lock - make sure your SPECIAL JESTER option "PDSTT to PSTT in WVR is OFF". I think Jester logic here is, that he just presses PSTT button while in PDSTT, which I suspect it just makes AWG9 try to relock target in Pulse in last saved azimuth/elevation, which would be outdated very fast if you are in crank. I only change in PSTT manually with PAL or ordering Jester specifically when I have diamond lock on the nose in HUD to make job for AWG9 easier. Everything else is AWG9 limitations. If you use AIM54s in TWS mode thats 100% AWG9, as when launched system switches to TWS Auto and AWG9 do ALL the work. RIO can literally sit back and open beer. So to mitigate loosing tracks you have to learn AWG9 limitations, I recommend checking Flyandwire for detailed info https://flyandwire.com make sure you are not pressing VSL, PLM or PAL buttons as those would overwrite AWG9 modes and make you lose TWS tracks If bandits are high you can try disabling MLC which normally looses tracks if bandits hit the notch. You do that by jumping into back seat or by diving below target so radar looks up +3 degrees Here is my vid with employing 54s vs F16s in PvP, with correct 54 employment and preplanning 54 is still a dangerous missile especially for high alt targets. (Note that target switch doesnt work at all vs AI, its not worth trying...) If you still have troubles could you attach the tacview, maybe we can help you with employment?

Hello, Is there any particular reason why F15s are using AIM7Fs and AIM9Ls when Red side have R27s and R73s? It doesnt seem too fair. Shouldnt AIM7Ms and AIM9Ms be available?

AWG-9 troubles, can't get the radar to see basically anything
The_Tau replied to Storebror's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
AWG9 is old radar and it got lot of limitations. Its important to learn them to fully use the radar potential. Same goes with radar modes. Depending what modes you use for example Pulse Doppler STT or Pulse STT the behavior of AIM54 will change. Same comes with ACM cover, when its in up position then behavior of missile changes. Also AIM 54 is not AMRAAM, it truly is long range missile, AWG9 TWS is very old and cant be compared with TWS in newer jets like F15,16,18. 20nm TWS is too close really, best ranges are like 75-30nm with TWS shots. Holding fire in 30-20nm (loft of 54 on those ranges is not most efficient also target at those ranges may go defensive making chance of losing TWS track much more probable) range and then use STT modes in ranges less then 20nm. null
