  1. You don't need to be online in order to play a game you've bought from Steam.
  2. Sorry for bumping, but I would really appreciate if someone from the ED team could just confirm that they have noted this bug. Unfortunately theres no crash file being generated since my whole system locks up.
  3. I have bought the downloadable version, and why will a Steam version bother me? I have bought around 10 games over Steam wihtout any issues. It's the number of installation limit that bothers me with the downloadable version. Why on earth do you prejudice me?

  5. Unfortunately, it runs Starforce. You can read about the Starforce system here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StarForce If this game will be starforce free and published through Steam, I will buy it once more just to make sure I have this game forever without any retarded DRM. My 2 cents..
  6. I agree with wombat778. The AH-64 and A-10 add-ons (as well as fixing the SLI bug) is more important than making collidable trees. I just hope when or if they ever decide to make trees collidable, they also implement a possibility to turn it off due to major FPS impact this feature will demand.
  7. However, the engineers don't need to worry about the tailrotor ;) But I guess it's "worse" being an engineer for a coaxial helicopter than a conventional chopper with tail rotor. :)

  9. Nice job, but I suggest you to put the real mission names somewhere so it's easier for users to search and find any sollutions :) I.e. "War" is "Dusk" as I can recall.
  10. When I start BlackShark there's no force on mine either, but it comes back when I'm actually in-game inside the cockpit. Don't think of the forcefeedback feature in blackshark as force feedback you're used to in other simulations, think of it as the best way to simulate the trim button for the real deal.

  12. I bet you got the same problem as I have. If you have a nvidia GeForce Card, go to Control Panel -> Nvidia Control Panel. Can't recall excatly where you go from there (I'm on my working laptop atm), but there you'll find somewhere to disable SLI. Unfortunately, I haven't received or found any official replies from ED in order to fix the SLI problem.

  14. Are you running two GPU's in SLI? If yes, try to disable it. I had the excact same problem as you, and TrackIr will only work for me as long as I'm running in fullscreen. (Also, update your trackir-software, and then start trackir -> Get latest game updates, from the trackir menu)
  15. From the launcher, go Options -> Controls -> Axis Controls (Dropdown list) -> Select the column where your forcefeedback joy is -> Click FF Tune Button There you will see how much force and shake valuing from 0 - 100 for your joystick.
  16. Well, thats a good argument ;) (My upside down flying skills is extremely poor in a helicopter that doesn't produce negative pitch on the rotor blades ;) )

  18. It probably is in the manual, but may I be so dumb to ask how to change the ballistic settings for my rocket pods? They are a bit too low for my taste as default

  20. lol, I'm confused. A helicopter pilot says no to rudder input, a guy from ED Testers team says yes to rudder input. I'm in favor of no rudder input at the moment unless another chopper pilot counters what Vortex just said. :)
  21. many missions tells you to maintain 220 km/h cruise speed.. It's probably blade colision, and you're not handling the chopper smooth enough ;)
  22. would be nice if Vortex or another heli pilot could confirm that you hardly use any rudder/anti torque pedal while turning a chopper.
  23. Step on the ball. Use the turn indicator as guidance, and keep the ball in the middle, while maintaining altitude with cyclic and collective. This is my non-real-helicopter-pilot tip :)
  24. the worst thing is that the Combat Spread formation is not spread at all. Everytime I do a sharp turn or bleed off the speed by pulling cyclic and lowering collective I'm terrified that my wingman will hit me.
  25. I didn't get any answers in my last thread here, and this issue might have been drowned with the rest of the issues, but are there any fixes to my SLI-bug? It crashes when I hover my mouse pointer over any button in the menu (launcher). By crash I mean freeze. The whole system freezes and only solution is to do a hard restart by pushing the restart button on my box. If I disable SLI the game works perfectly (but obviously without the benefits of using two graphic cards). I have the latest DirectX drivers and Nvidia drivers.
