  1. Which ever set of ARK dials you want. I think if you want the gunner/operators ARK to work, dial it up and then hit the CTRL button. I think you have to tell the Hind which set (front seat or back) of ARK dials you want to to be in control of the needle. I think
  2. Are you hitting the control button on the ARK. It’s kinda in the middle between the two dials. That tells the system which ARK is slaved to the needle. Just curious because I’ve never tried it.
  3. Im not an expert by any means, but since you have to save and launch from the mission editor, I wonder if you cant edit the radio freqs in the editor. I'll try it and let you know. Thanks.
  4. Hi, I hope your flight training is going well. Its tough at the start, but hang in there, it will come. Just wanted to make you aware of CasmoTV and the Low Level Hell community. CasmoTV - YouTube Home | The Low Level Hell Podcast Also come check in with the discord if you have any questions: https://discord.gg/DEEtwJ3aqd
  5. Hello everyone. So I've been coming back to DCS and firing up the A-10C. I've been going through all the Maple training campaigns and having a lot of fun, but something keeps drawing me to the Mig-21. So this morning I went ahead and got it. Something about it, just an engine with small wings, fragile as tin foil and no tech makes me think I'm a TIE Fighter pilot lol. Anyway, I'm looking forward to learning this historic aircraft. If anyone in the UK or USA wants to give me a hand, please hit me up. Thanks again
  6. I'm getting similiar "Stack" errors when loading the sim and when missions load. Removed and installed from scratch. No mods, just a clean install. Applied the patch, then the hotfix. I'm still getting "stack" errors. I think i saw a number or stack errors on me_vehicle.lua, but I could be wrong on the exact error. I just remember they all say Error-Stack. I apologize for not having any screenshots. I'm at work now, but I will get some tonight and post. I run Vista X64
  7. What a wonderful ride it has been following this sim through its dev process. Those of us that have tracked this wonderful sim from day one have been rewarded with one of the best sim experiences that is offered to the private sector. It started with the dev videos, then the flight manual download, and finally the actual software. It's been a great experience. Recently I've played around with some other flight sims, but I'm always drawn back to the Ka-50. And now as mods and tools are released by the community, this sim is finally taking it's place as one of the all time great classics. Are there areas for improvement...well sure there are. But they will be worked on. I flew a multi-player mission the other night. As I was sitting on the flight line, powering up my systems, I took pause in the fact that alot of people went to great lengths to make this possible. Finally as my APU came online and familiar rumble of the tubines kicked in, I just started to smile. If anyone is on the fence on purchasing this sim, I say do it. You will not be let down. You will crash, and you will curse as you try to maintain a hover, but you will love it in the end. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone involved SunDown
  8. I only use one button on my X52Pro mapped using the Saitek program. And that is just for Teamspeak PTT. Everything else I configured using the controller options in game. Just an option for you to try first.
  9. I don't know about that particular device, but I do know that having any type of sound force feedback increases your sim experience. I have my simpit arranged in a way that my sub provides a similar effect and it's pretty sweet. When those turbines fire up, and you feel it, it kicks ass (or butt). I would recommend it.
  10. Gentlemen, I'm a fan of Urze's collective and it's been working great for me. Just let me know what I can do for anyone and if there is a problem you want me to work on, I will be more than glad to track down a solution. SunDown
  11. Seems like its tied into the NAV switch next to the Main Hyd switch along the right wall panel. That is in addition to the K-041 switch.
  12. Anyone know how to change the text? As cute as displayed text is, I would like to change it. Thanks. SunDown
  13. I've seen that too. Its got to be a bug. Even after a reset it does it.
  14. I have mine like Niphredil. Which works great until you get into a knife fight. You pull the trigger in and cannon is selected, you keep pulling and it fires. You release, cannon is still selected. You pull the trigger in again, cannon deselects....you really have to watch you HUD symbology to know whats selected, and glance down to see if the cannon trigger is flipped up on the cyclic. Also the tell tell elevation and azimuth constrants on the Shkval TV display. But my point being, you just have to keep in mind that what ever you set as stage 2 on ur trigger, you are going to have to pull through stage 1 to get there. I programmed mine in game. When I wanted to program stage two, i went ahead and pulled through stage 1 before i entered the screen to set the control. So when I pulled it to set the control, it went straight to stage 2. Make sense?
  15. Well I don't know. I'm not a tanker, but I have seen M1's fire HEAT rounds and they were tracer rounds. Our (M2 ODS Bradley) sabot rounds are tracer rounds, so the tanks may be the same way. I just don't know about those guys. The cut away drawing above is a sabot and its got a tracer burn in the rear. This is real world. Luckily I haven't seen and main tank rounds come at me in the sim yet. Not to say they haven't shot me down, but I just haven't seen them... :)
  16. @ Hitch: I built a 8'X6' raised floor so i could run all the cables under it and keep it as clean looking as possible. The PC is located at the rear of the right panel. What kicks a$$ to me is the logitec G51 sub is enclosed in the rear of the left panel. I turn down the center channel and surround and crank up the sub. I have 5.1 headphones (because of the trackclip) but it works out good because all the radio calls and other sounds come through the headphones. The engine and back sounds come through the sub and the two rear speakes located behind me. The sub actually vibrates the simpit. You can feel the engine. That just gives me a woody everytime the Shark cranks up. The wireless keyboard and mouse work out good because when im doing windows updates, or mod installs, I use the 19" monitor and desk set off to the side. @rocketerr: No. I struggled with this for awhile, but here is my logic. The cockpit is clickable. I didn't want to re-invent the wheel. I don't have the know-how to do such a task to begin with. The interface with the sim is the display, controls, and sound. Those are the areas I concentrated on. I have all the dimensions and assembly data in a PDF if anyone wants it. Just post your email if so and I'll get it to you.
  17. Def want to go through all your axis commands and clean up your assigned controls. There are alot of duplicate commands out there.
  18. This one is actually fun once you figure out what the heck is going on. The only beef I got with the campaign is that when you are trying to settle the aircraft into a hover and get your attack setup, something important is being said. Anyway, once you toast the house, the bad guy heads out, we know that. I tried a Vicker on him but missed, from that point it was game on. The illum lasts for awhile, but the best thing to do is turn your spot light on, dawn the NVGs and head to the edge of town where he is heading. Its a black car, you can't miss it. I chased that bastard for 15 minutes trying to line up a shot on him only to miss. Strafing attacks are dangerous because the road his is on is paralleled by some power lines. I finally got low and waited for him to pass in front of me. I had the K-041 in Gunsight mode. When he passed in front, i ate him up with 30mm. It was really fun, and once you vaporize that car, you'll think so too. Sundown
  19. I can't speak for all tanks, but for the most part all US main HEAT tank rounds are tracer. I can speak for M2 Bradleys and say that all 25mm rounds are tracer.
  20. I've noticed this twitching as well. And I do the same thing, just pop the pedals one way to clear it out.
  21. Yep, TrackIR sensor is velcro'd to the left of the "LG" logo on the bottom of the TV. And the keyboard is an issue, but all the real world cyclic and collective commands are programmed to my HOTAS, so just like the real deal, i've got to take my hand off something to click a button in the cockpit, so I have no issue with that. What was killing me was the comms menu. I did find a piece of software called VAC and started using voice commands to drive my comms menu. I dedicated a button on the cyclic to open the radio menu, then I just talk my way through the menu. After some training and taking some time to set it up, it really works great. So right now I'm happy with it.
  22. Well I finished my simpit. I love it. It's worth the effort. I couldn't have done it without the encouragement from you guys and a great CAD program called Google Sketch It (free). http://forums.eagle.ru/album.php?albumid=150
  23. Here is what I did... Create a dinky little mission, just you on the airfield. Cut your HUD off. Take off, watch your instruments, find a landmark and try different things and see how the aircraft reacts. I was fighting trim and the AP for a long time. I was also fighting inertia. Inertia is the hardest thing to figure out. But with practice you will know when to pull a tight turn and when to swan turn the shark in a graceful turn. Use the VVI and the ADI alot more than you use it now. Also, measure yourself. Not like that...but create a metric for how you are doing. I thought I knew how to land or make turns, until i had to land on a pad. Then I was screwed, or I thought I could circle an objective, until I had to do it and maintain situational awareness. Its tough. But practice, practice, practice. Sorry for the ramble. Love the sim. SunDown
