  1. While I do understand JM1 for requesting a feature planned by the developper a long time ago, I am also surprised that someone willing to fly on a study sim cannot learn or at least recognize a few dozen words in a foreign language. From my point of view, flying in a foreign cockpit is part of the fun.
  2. Thank you for your help guys, I really appreciate it !
  3. Hi dburne) I thought the last firmware took in charge the KG12, MCG and MCG Pro. If it's not the case, I understand why the KG12 grip is not recognized by the BlackBox. I'll look into that, just in case.
  4. Hello gents ! When I bought the GunFighter, I received it with a KG12 grip. I recieved the MCG Pro a few months later and I switched the grip without any problem. Today I can't figure out how to switch grip and go back to the KG12 to fly with a warbird. Whatever I try, I keep having the red flashing light on the BlackBox. I'm running the latest software and firmware from VKB. This is the procedure I used to switch back to the KG12 : I launched VKBDevCfg and clicked on my MCG Pro. I clicked on the "Tools" tab and clicked on the "Parking" button. I removed the MCG Pro grip from the GunFighter. I installed the KG12 grip. I clicked on the "Default" button to force the GunFighter to see the new stick. It failed. Did I miss something ? I'm pretty sure this is the procedure I used last year when I went from the KG12 to the MCG Pro. Thank you for your help)
  5. As promised, I'm back with a solution to my problem. I was struggling a bit with the support but I finally found a way to recover my BlackBox after being "bricked". I'll copy/paste the procedure I wrote on the VKB board : Start Menu -> Settings -> Devices I selected "VKB Boot NJoy32 platform", then I deleted it. I disconnected the BlackBox from the computer. I launched Z-Bootloader. I connected the BlackBox. At this moment, the writing/reading problem had stopped, the device was ready and waiting. I selected the previous firmware [...] and applied it - it just worked !
  6. I'm somewhat reassured knowing that I'm not alone in this case. I do hope someone from Razbam will aknowledge our problem and provide an answer.
  7. I have the GF and the MCG Pro for over a year now and never experienced any problem when using Z-Bootloader. I thought that the "Bootloader" button on VKBDevCfg was basically a shortcut to Z-Bootloader. Has something changed ? Last time I updated my BlackBox and MCG Pro was last January I think. Anyway, I submitted a new message on the VKB Sim board, I'll have to wait. I'll come back and post the solution, if there is one))
  8. I'd like to give an additional information I just noticed. While Windows is not recognizing the device itself when I plug it, I still have the "VKB Boot NJoy32 platform" appearing in the "Devices" Windows Settings when I plug the BlackBox. It disapears as it should when I unplug it.
  9. Hello guys, I decided to update my BlackBox today and went to VKB's FTP. I noticed a new firmware dated July 31st 2018 and downloaded it (it was risky I know :x) After downloading it, I went for Z-Bootloader to select the new firmware and clicked on "Flash it!". At some point, toward the end of the process, I got a "Download Fail" message in the dialogue box, I waited more than ten minutes and nothing happened, I was stuck at this step. I first try to click on the "Reset" button but a "Device not ready" appeared. I felt bad when I unplugged the BlackBox, I knew it was bad sign. At the moment the BlackBox does not show any light when I plug it to the computer. I can hear the windows sound when a USB cable is plugged but nothing appears. The device is not recognized by Windows, Z-Bootloader or VKBDevCfG. I think I might bricked it. Anyone encountered this problem before ? If I could find a solution before opening a ticket with the VKB folks it'd be great. Thank you))
  10. Hi guys, I was wondering if you're experiencing some massive reflections ; I can't see anything outside my cockpit in some case both in stable and beta releases. Here's a screenshot in attachment.
  11. While I'd love to see realistic representation of the sky, I think we should focus on the main subject of this thread : visibility at medium/long range of artificial lights. Concerning my previous comment on the vapor wings and others non essential visual effects (I'm thinking of rain drops here), what I meant was that I'd wish that the time spent on creating those effects was redirected to optimize the engine to handle artificial lights at night. It must be easier to create visual effects, the customer base will be easily pleased by those (I know I am), but I do think that night operations should be high on Eagle Dynamic's priority list. In the current state of the game, depending on the time and location set, more than half of the day is non flyable to me. What if someone decide one day to offer a Nordic theater of operations where an almost permanent dusk can settle for months ? Night operations are essentials in modern aerial warfare ; a significant amount of raids have been launched at night in the last three decades by a western coalition, we should be able to reproduce these type of operations and extend the playability of the current scenarios. I really do understand that the development team is facing some technical limitations. I'm not asking for a change overnight (haha ! - sorry :x), just an aknowledgment of the issue and the fact that this is not something that will be left behind.
  12. While I do agree that the planes systems must be an absolute priority over eye candy, I'd like to emphasise that several planes in DCS don't have any NVG or INS to navigate by night. That leaves us with VFR and the need to get well lit cities to follow our flight plans. At the moment, we can't even spot a city as big as Las Vegas further than 5nm, that's a little embarrassing. I'd happily trade useless vapor wings for good night visuals allowing us to fly our jets by night . As you said : priorities.
  13. Everyone should try to give some constructive feedback to prevent this topic being closed. NineLine gave some indications about what he's expecting : settings, game moded or not, screenshots. I suggest that everybody experiencing lightning issues should post screenshots of the exact same location, same date and time. Let's define this exact location : Set the date to 10th of July 2006 (full moon) View from your cockpit 5nm from Nellis AFB Aligned with runway 21R From 10.000 feet Here's my settings and screenshot : Textures : High Terrain Textures : High Civ. Traffic : Medium Water : High Visib Range : Extreme Heat blur : Low Shadows : Flat Resolution : 3440x1440 Monitors : 1 screen Res. of Cockpit Displays : 1024 MSAA : Off Depth of Field : Off Lens Effects : Dust + Flare SSAA : Off Clutter/Grass : 1500 Trees Visibility 100% Preload radius : 100.000 Chimney Smoke Density : 4 Gamma : 1.8 Anisotropic Filtering : Off Terrain Object Shadows : Flat Cockpit Global Illumination : On Raindrops : On Mod(s) installed : Tacview Look for the red circle, this is Nellis AFB at 5nm. Vegas is not even visible. Better viewed at full resolution.
  14. I'm surprised this topic does not get more traction from the players. Are we such a small part of the community to fly by night ? :noexpression:
  15. Hello, I didn't know exactly where to create this thread as this is somewhat related to the DCS wishlist topic. But as Razbam made the M2000-C and they are working with the 2/5 Ile de France, I was wondering if Razbam could add some french squadrons for the Mirage in DCS to let the players choose them in their logbook (at least the 2/5 patch, right ?) At the moment there are only a few of them and if I'm not mistaken they're only for helos pilots. Thank you !
  16. I'd love to see more official liveries too.
  17. Just a quick message to support jers's query.
  18. A very simple procedure to know if you're being locked by one of the DG modes is to switch the pipper to manual mode and try to change the depression sight. If you don't see any change while turning the knob, it means you're still on a DG mode. You have to disengage the DG mode before being able to deliver any bomb/rocket.
  19. I am not sure to get it. After watching the clip twice, the only tone I can hear is the RWR tones announcing new contacts at 1sec, 15sec and 18 sec, nothing else :x
  20. I could not agree more. I don't care about competitiveness or game balance, I'm flying on a milsim, not playing Overwatch.
  21. The MiG-21 is getting some love since several weeks, this is really good news.
  22. Well, considering that 1CGS has just announced that their products purchased via their standalone version of their games would be soon backward compatible with Steam after linking the two accounts, I supposed our actual system in DCS is an Eagle Dynamics limitation. Perhaps, one day, ED will rework its auth system to adopt a more customer friendly policy.
  23. Why should they do that ? They did not deliver a complete module with the M2000C before announcing the Harrier. Mind you, the Mirage is still a work in progress and they are already teasing a new project.
  24. While I don't know if the SpeedTree technology could apply for creating rocks, having a little bit of diversity on the mountains could be a huge improvement to the actual Iranian peaks in the Persian Gulf map - at least for helos pilots. As a side note, is there any possibility to create new vegetation for desertic settings with SpeedTree ? With the actual Persian Gulf and the future Syria and Afghanistan maps it would be perfect !
