There is actually a great piece of software allowing human controlled ATC and more. Players looking for some realism in their DCS environment should take a look at LotAtc. The current ATC in DCS starts to be a bit embarrassing when we compare it to another milsim managing almost perfectly ATC procedures for 20 years now. At least Eagle Dynamics is aware of the problem and has promised to deliver in the future - I hope not too far away.

Thank you for the links. I'll keep the last one : (the emphasis is mine) I'm not asking for a -5 tomorrow, even for short term. I'm already training to master the M-2000C, I have at least 3 to 5 years of fun ahead before thinking about an airplane switch. I can wait.
-
Has Razbam announced that they will never do a 2000-5 ? If someone asked about à -9 I would agree that the AdA would prevent it to be done, but a -5, I'm not so sure.

Creating a Mirage III E seems to be the most reasonable choice in the DCS environment (and the most profitable saleswise …). Having a EA variant would only make sense with the upcoming Malvinas map while the E could be employed virtually anywhere. While I do complain a lot about having planes matching eras and theater of operations, from a developper point of view, I suppose the Mirage III E is the way to go. From this version, you could eventually offer the less effective variants down the road.

Hello ! Are you experiencing frustration because you can't spend your money ? There are alternatives to VKB if you really can't wait for their products to become broadly available. As long as I didn't give any money to a company I can't hardly see myself asking something from this company. I'd have basically two choices : waiting for the lucky day when I'll be able to spend my money for their product, going to another manufacturer. This is as simple as that. The very low availability of the VKB products has been in this state for years, I never saw their shop overflowing with products since I knew the company when looking for their Black Mamba. I don't see their policy changing anytime soon.

Don't forget what has been said earlier in this very same thread. SweViver was using his headset with a Pixel Density set at 2.0, this is insane and incredibly taxing for any computer. A more reasonable PD should easily increase the FPS counter.

I was puzzled by this too when I started my Mirage courses. I asked the guys from the virtual squadron I fly with who happen to be related to french Mirage pilots and Razbam team. It appears the Serval behavior in the sim is consistent with the real thing. It can be confusing, mostly in dogfights when someone is chasing you and has lost his lock but you're still hearing the Serval tone blasting in your ears for a few more seconds.

Matt, Nine Line, If you're still reading this topic, would you consider to make a statement in the following month about how it went with the Pimax guys ? Do you think we could get better performances with high end computers ? I know VR users must be a small part of your customer base but I think this part of the community is growing steadily. Some words from your team would be much appreciated, thanks))

What's not true ? The fact that the plane has still bugs and missing features ?
-
How can you make a claim like this when there are some bugs that still force your game to crash to desktop, when sometimes you cannot lock a contact until selecting a weapon, when the CCP mode has precision issues, when the synthetic runway cannot be displayed on the HUD despite the AB being selected both on ILS and TACAN and so on ? Yes, the Mirage is somewhat flyable for basic operations, you can even enjoy it. But for people looking for a truly polished product, this aircraft is far from being completed. In their latest statement on Youtube, Razbam told us that important changes are coming our way at the end of the year. We'll wait then, and see …

Why ? (Genuine question)
-
I concur with the above statement. Losing track of an enemy fighter at 2/3nm is frustrating as hell. I think this is my #1 grievance regarding the DCS engine. I really do hope the developpers will be able to find a solution for users with high resolution monitors. Their price range make them more affordable nowadays and more and more players are going to pick them up as they upgrade their rig.
-
Yes it did, I try to include diverted airfields with ILS whenever I can, depending on the target location and airfield availability. The fact that there is a lot of work while in a difficult situation is what makes it challenging and interesting, right ? ;)
-
This is a shame, really. This week I flown a mission and had to be diverted to another airfield because of an emergency. The conditions were really bad with no visibility, I surely have appreciated the help of the synthetic runway to land safely. I'm wondering how difficult it is to implement this function into the Mirage.

Yes, please. -- 8. Squadron patches for countries having a flyable airplane. I'm still waiting for M2000 squadrons patches but to be fair, I don't know if this is ED's responsability or Razbam's.

I think it is already out of Early Access for almost a year now. It got its released status when it went on Steam.

Perhaps are you flying several modules at the same time and when a module has a problem you can fly on another one ? In my squadron, we only fly one module, when there is a problem with it, it can be frustrating to not be able to fly a COMAO missions because a part of the wing is left out by a software development problem. I would not mind to wait several weeks for the stable version to be updated as long as it keeps its stability. I know it can be difficult to wait for the latest new toy or improvement and this is why betas exist. It should be fairly easy to understand for users that a stable branch will receive way less frequent updates to the benefit of stability while an Open Beta will push for regular updates at the cost of … stability. At least we have now better communication from ED, waiting a week for a fix is not that long. I really hope to see some change in the management of the stable and beta branches.

This is a matter of personnal preferences. I used VR for several months and I freaking loved it ! But I had to give away my Rift because of the lower resolution. Even after three months I could not manage to spot and engage as easily ground targets while running close air support missions as with a 2D setup. I am a firm believer of the VR solution in simulations, but not in its current states. I already saved money for my next rig and the second gen headsets. I really do hope the next big thing will come in 2020, I miss the immersion of the VR setting.

It seems pretty much alive to me.

I share the same conclusion and opinion as Sarajov and John. I'm quite concerned about how Razbam handle development products. The Mirage is almost three years old, has left the "Early Access" status but still lack some features and has some serious bugs that lead to CTD. I'm glad they secure an agreement with 2/5 but I'm now curious to see how it will ends. I do understand they have plenty of people working on 3D models and textures, but I think they have only two guys working on systems and flight models. How these guys can handle the Mirage, the Harrier, the MiG-19, the MiG-23 and the F-15 ? Just how ? I bought the Mirage and still wait for it to be completed. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

Did you take a look at LotATC ?

Why should we care about the China Assets Pack then ? Have we ever see any chinese military intervention in any other region of the globe ? Taiwan is the most relevant theater for the current products in development IMO.

Hello folks) It's been stuck in my head for several months now and the more I think about it, the more this part of the world would make sense in the DCS environment. The island of Taiwan has been one of the most highly probable flashpoint in the last decade and still is a high risk zone in the foreseeable future, making it an excellent potential scenario for DCS World. Here's a bit of geography: Taiwan formerly known as Formose is located in East Asia Taiwan is only 112 miles away from the southeastern coast of China Taiwan covers an area of 13,854.3593 square miles Taiwan is 245 miles long for 89 miles wide Taiwan consists mostly of five rugged mountain ranges parallel to the east coast, and the flat to gently rolling plains of the western third, where the majority of Taiwan's population reside There are several peaks over 11,500ft, the highest (12,966 ft) The climate ranges from tropical in the south to subtropical in the north The eastern mountains are heavily forested while land use in the western and northern lowlands is intensive The reasons why I think this map would make sense is the fact that it would offer a large variety of missions, including deep strikes from mainland China and Naval Operations from carriers, the newly introduced China Assets Pack with the chinese version of the Su-27 and the upcoming JF-17 figher from Deka Ironworks, the already available taiwanese Mirage 2000, the large amount of US equipment provided to Taiwan. Also the geography of the island would offer a tropical environment that many DCS players are asking for some time now. The island offer an important contrast between high mountains and low lands where the vast majority of the population live. I'll attach some aerial views from the Island and an actual geopolitical map of the island. Please, feel free to look around to find more informations about the island and its current position towards China and Western countries. Oh ! Did I say that the entire island and part of the chinese coast could fit an actual DCS map ?

Hi guys, I was wondering why the Logbook does not track the hours invested in online activities. I spend 95% of my DCS flight time online and after 11 months I have a mere 20 hours logged. I'm flying between 10 to 20 hours a week and I'd love to know precisely how my online activities went during the past year. The second point I wish could be improved is the update of the squadron patches for several countries. At least those who have/had an active DCS module in their military branches. Yes I'm looking at you France, the current patches are all dedicated to some helos units despite the Mirage being in the game for almost three years. Any official answer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks)

Well, considering there has been a new topic created to announce it the release day
