  1. Yes, ED hinted at the functionality coming to their other modules too, so hopefully we will get working visors for all ED modules on MiG-29's launch day! Yeah for ED modules I put gamma at 1.6 (during daytime missions) to put the colours and brightness of the outside world while looking outside in the cockpit, at the same level than external view is when gamma is at 2.2. DCS lighting is weird... With working visors such shenanigans will no longer be needed.
  2. As a general rule of thumb, when not knowing what to bind (I agree it can be daunting), I’d recommend to take things slow and one step at a time. You said you’ve been away for a while, so it will undoubtedly take some getting used to, right? So what are you going to do first to get the feel of the aircraft (or DCS in general) again? I doubt you’re going to jump into a study-level campaign by for example Reflected, right? More than likely you’re going to do some free flights, some takeoffs and landings, … What do you need for that? Not a lot: flaps up/down, gear up/down, air brake in/out - that’s pretty much it. So start from there, and slowly add binds when applicable for the situations you’re finding yourself in. Happy flying!
  3. Yup, we used to have measurements like that as well (for example the "el" - which was about 68cm) - it went out of date in the 1800s.
  4. Neither do I, but surely you see that was not the point. A product was sold based on promises made (what’s listed on the product page), and those promises were not kept or only partially kept. The default F-16 looks like a plastic toy, at best. Anyway, I didn’t mean to start up that entire discussion again. There are already other threads about it…
  5. I think it's safe to say we wish for ED to deliver on their promises, and what's listed on the store page: The most realistic model of the F-16C imaginable, down to each bolt and flake of paint, animated controls surfaces, lights, damage model, and landing gear.
  6. IRL? That makes no sense. Metric is SI and used by 96% of the world population, and even the US is (very slowly) converting to metric - finally.
  7. I believe you're overthinking it. You can add a speed (and altitude) for AI to fly at in the waypoint options. I think that's what Bignewy was alluding to.
  8. This was already announced 7 or 8 years ago by Magnitude. We were told "after the release of the F4U".
  9. As far as I understand, there is a feature in development for Jester 2.0 that allows Jester to "listen to" AEW callouts so he'll point the radar in the appropriate azimuth/elevation himself.
  10. I doubt Draconus is the only one wanting an accurate representation of the real MiG-29 (not the pre-production MiG-29A since I highly doubt it even had an armament system). But I for one do, and I'd say let's wait and see how it actually works out in practice. When that system is active, you'll be (mostly) looking outside of the cockpit anyway, so there might not even be an issue And perhaps it's an incentive to many to start using proper fence-in / fence-out procedures, instead of flying with "master arm on" during the entire flight...
  11. MiG-29 doesn’t have chaff, only flares.
  12. Very, VERY nice! Thank you!
  13. Sure, an F-18 remaster would be great - AFTER we get an UH-1, Mi-8, F-86, MiG-15, L-39 remaster, and AFTER the Yak-52 is finished. Oh and AFTER we get a proper cockpit for the “remastered” F-5, obviously!
  14. Quite the understatement
  15. Were wings not clipped to improve low-altitude performance? That’s why the Spitfire’s wings were clipped in some variants, I believe…
  16. Hello ED and @Flappie, Please have a look at the thread linked below, it includes tracks. Thanks!
  17. No need for doubt: Chizh already said they're not going to do it, for the exact same reasons you mention.
  18. Perhaps @Diesel_Thunder knows?
  19. That’s what I got from it as well. Not that it is a problem: it is a system designed to face the threats of that era. It would only need to be careful when facing F-14s (and DCS can’t replicate the Phoenix’s specific guidance anyway so who knows how it would behave).
  20. No, we still need the North. What we have so far is South-West and East.
  21. Yes, exactly that!
