Very understandable that you’re frustrated about it, and thanks for sharing your experiences with us.

This is the English forum, so you'd best ask your question in English (provided there is not already an existing thread about it), or ask your question in the German forum instead: https://forum.dcs.world/forum/26-deutsch/

Well, user feedback is important though and if there are issues with consistency of quality of finish it is important that potential customers are aware of that. Chinese industry is getting better and better but is still notorious for having QA and QC problems: Chinese engineers admit that themselves. That being said, “sticky dampers” are indeed very normal when the product is still new. I had that issue as well with my VPC pedals and it indeed vastly improved over time.

What happened to the afterburners when taking off ??
Raven (Elysian Angel) replied to RWC's topic in General Bugs
The rear end seemingly being on fire is not necessarily unrealistic, though: https://youtu.be/17ntWkM-O_4?si=reATFovWfo0Lo8wY -
That's you telling people how new you are to DCS and/or the forum without telling you're new Ah the entertainment value of this thread is priceless. Please keep going!

CPU upgrade
Raven (Elysian Angel) replied to algherghezghez's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I recently upgraded from a 5900X to 9800X3D and I observed the minimum framerates go up by up to 50%, especially around busy air bases. Now the frame rates no longer dip around an airbase, while previously busy air bases were the hardest on my system. It truly is night-and-day difference and it transforms the experience. -
Yes, it is. But to paraphrase ED, "we will continue to have to be patient"
-
Ooooh I should check that then. Odd though that I never noticed (I did check originally when I bought it). I’m using the very latest firmware now as it was needed for my pedals. *EDIT* Holy cow this actually works! Thank you so much, @Vakarian! *EDIT 2* No it doesn't. You still need to bind "throttle idle release" but you *can* actually bind it, which I did not know.
-
On the VPC collective, that physical button is not linked to a logical button so you can’t programme it or bind it to a function. So in that sense yes: fingerlifts are generally not tied to a logical function either, and you need to define a range of motion of the axis in software to act like a virtual logical button. I suppose I could test if that works in the Kiowa but it will be finicky and prone to errors if the movement doesn’t exactly (and I really mean exactly) line up between your physical hardware and the virtual controls in the cockpit. To get idle/cut-off detents to work reliably is a pain in the behind, at least for Virpil (as an example: sometimes shutting down one engine also shuts down the other even if the 2nd throttle hasn’t passed over the detent yet). Most of the time it works flawlessly, but not always.
-
Yes and no. It's good that you can set the collective range yourself, but when going over the detent you still need to click the detent button in the cockpit AND your own physical detent on the collective. I wish they'd give us the option to go over that detent automatically for people who have the hardware for it.

Everyone has different tolerance levels to 'low fps'.
-
Yes, it does. Shortly after release I made a post about it, explaining that you basically need keybinds so it’s finicky but it does work.
-
Yes and that shows! Let me put it this way: if it’s not done correctly and the dimensions are off, you’ll know it because the cockpit will “feel wrong” or “feel off” even if you don’t consciously know why. Heatblur modules don’t have that issue
-
Sorry to quote you again, but I found a solution for that (at least in VR): Adding the line: options.graphics.stereo_mode_use_shared_parser = true to my autoexec.cfg fixed those differences in lighting, at least for me.
-
On top of all that, early MiGs are also notorious for high-speed buffeting, especially in a dive - up to the point the aircraft becomes virtually uncontrollable. The AI doesn't care about any of that... Anyway, this "discussion" / "debate" / whatever you want to call it can keep going on until the Milky Way collides with Andromeda and still won't be any closer to reaching an agreement. There's a Mark Twain quote that comes to mind that is very applicable, but I won't repeat it here or I'll get naughty points Have fun, peeps!
-
And yet it’s been going on for 3 pages Don’t mind me by the way, I’m only here for the entertainment
-
Lately it definitely seems that ED modules need at least 2-3 years AFTER early access release to get to a stage that a lot of people consider to be ready for any serious use (more than the odd free flight). And that really is a shame…

Caucasus better airport lighting and asphalt
Raven (Elysian Angel) replied to Dragan's topic in Wish List
Ah perhaps those lights are something else then, but the lighting on aprons and such definitely are mere textures. -

Raven (Elysian Angel) replied to Dragan's topic in Wish List
They do not, because those "lights" are textures and not actual lights. -
Dust cloud increase should occur after collective pull
Raven (Elysian Angel) replied to -0303-'s topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes dry grass shouldn’t have that effect: I have first hand experience with it too. But judging by some YouTube videos I saw, the effect is still quite *under*done in the desert, though.- 4 replies

Works just fine in Brave browser - ignore the colours: I have my monitor in HDR mode and the windows screenshots tool doesn't support HDR. Also, this should have been posted here instead: https://forum.dcs.world/forum/61-forum-and-site-issues/
