  1. I still have to check out the new update, but up until last patch I found the map to only look good/ok above 5000m. In my opinion, there is still a lot of work to be done to make the forests look good: even the ones in the Caucasus map look better/more natural.
  2. I'd rather have biscuits, so I can have some fun with the crumbs when pushing negative Gs!
  3. Not any more. 3rd parties can send a request to ED for a particular weapon to be included with their module, but in the end it's up to ED to make it available within the DCS framework.
  4. Oh, which headset do you use? You seem to have a much higher vertical FoV than I do, as I don't see that at all:
  5. I'm not I did Yes that's fine: IRL there apparently were clear visors for the JHMC too. But the default pilot model is using the dark one. How so? And which gamma are you using? For me, it is nauseating to *not* have it in VR, if you're using the default gamma 2.2.
  6. This is correct-as-is based on the type of helmet used, and if you switch to external view with the visor in the UP-position you can clearly see that. I for one am happy we have a working visor in the normal helmet too, for those of us who like our '80s/'90s scenarios
  7. Yes, me too: I had hoped for AIM-9D and -G to be included in Early -A.
  8. Looks like ED has been doing some work in the background then on the localisation/cockpit language options, that wasn't quite ready to be merged into the public build...
  9. Oh, what a surprise... Some people love drama, eh?
  10. Download speeds were fine on my end. Did you also try to clear the DNS cache? That could help
  11. Yes the current implementation is brilliant, just like in the Mirage F1 and new MiG-29, unlike the (better than nothing but fake) effects other modules with visors use (Mirage 2000, F-15E, MiG-21, OH-58). It’s what the community has been asking for for the last 7 years
  12. To not show the borders? You mean when it’s flipped up? I’m pretty sure that IRL you’d see the borders too, looking at what it looks like in external view.
  13. It's on the first page: But a lot has been said, and it's difficult to keep track of everything. We're all trying to help, after all.
  14. Since his wife's system is Intel based, and his AMD-based, that's doubtful
  15. AI MiG-29s perhaps, but players are smarter than AI: if I do a dogfight in a MiG-29 against an AI F-15/16/18 (with both of us starting at identical amounts of fuel), the AI runs out of fuel first, and I still have enough to fly to the opposite side of the map to land. Manoeuvre kill!
  16. Yes, there is improvement but for longer flights you still can't turn on altitude hold: there are sine-wave pitch oscillations between +4 and -2G. For a short while attitude hold works though, so there's that
  17. I just did a quick (runway start) flight to test the auto-pilot changes (definitely work-in-progress but that's off-topic here), and I didn't notice anything wrong with the gauges.
  18. Perhaps, but having them enabled is more realistic - and isn't that what we all want: lighting that is more natural? In any case, it's a non-issue now for F-16 and -18 drivers too: I just did a test flight in both and it's fantastic. After a minute you don't even notice there is a visor (with gamma at 2.2) and that's how it's supposed to be: you don't notice anything if it's done right, but you definitely notice it if it's done wrong. The effect in the F-16 and -18 is not as dark as in the MiG-29, but as far as I have seen from RL pictures that's realistic so I'm a happy bunny!
  19. There’s a 2nd patch planned for today, it seems
  20. Visors for F-16 and F-18, nice! I was hoping for them to be added to all other ED modules too, however.
  21. Yes, I know I’m just being nit-picky: if you’re going to say “we need a visor like in the XYZ”, pick MiG-29 because that module sets the new standard
  22. Well, the Mirage 2000 and F-15E don’t technically have “visors”: the effect is there, sure, but they are basically just rectangular filters that pop into view. The worst offender of this approach is the MiG-21 because while it has a “visor”, it doesn’t move with your head in VR (same as RAZBAM’s initial implementation of it). The only aircraft with a properly implemented visor are Mirage F1 and MiG-29. And credit where credit’s due: ED has the best visor implementation in DCS now with their MiG-29.
