  1. The term "AI" is so overused these days, it lost all meaning: everyone seems to mean something else...
  2. And there’s no downvote / 1-star button up top.
  3. I know that. What I said is something entirely different...
  4. Yes, you can clearly see that in action in Yoyo's Mi-24 campaign, for example: there it takes roughly 8 minutes for the wingman to take off once you're in the air. Basically AI helicopters think they are heavies, and taxi/take off like a C-5 Galaxy would. So much for "the year of the helicopter" ED promised us years ago, eh?
  5. Not just the sky, but city glow is also completely absent. There is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to lighting at night.
  6. Mission 5: That's not something campaign makers have a lot of influence over, really. They can try to mitigate some of the issues with AI through clever use of waypoint special commands etc, but in the end it's up to ED to fix.
  7. I managed to get past Mission 4 without generator/anti-ice problems
  8. I decided to give it a go, and Indeed with very subtle changes the results are quite good. On top of the dehaze and desaturate I checked the option with new white/black values (gamma correction I believe it's called). I believe I can get it to work in a way that pleases me, thanks for the recommendation
  9. I've never seen ReShade look good (looking at static screenshots taken on a monitor is vastly different from actually flying in VR), but perhaps that's just me. The obvious problem with using the in-game colour profiles (be it Teal-Orange2 or any other) is that it affects everything, not just ground textures. Also, because of how DCS lighting works, trees and grass will look vastly different in the distance compared to close-by. Yes, I tried the above Teal-Orange2 and it does make the grass look a lot better, but it mutes all other colours, and there's a lack of consistency. The only real solution is for either Ugra to fix this, or for someone (Barthek or CGTC for example) to make a texture pack.
  10. Bump Grass this green does exist IRL, but it’s rare and thus shouldn’t be as omnipresent as it is currently.
  11. Just think a second on why the US went with a glorified crop duster for their new platform: It's light, can takeoff and land pretty much anywhere, can loiter for ages, has 3-4 different sensors on it, APKWS and LGBs, … Light attack is basically an armed ISR platform for low-intensity combat.
  12. This is just episode 1 in a long series. I’d recommend you watch them all:
  13. I just ran that mission. Keep in mind it's the pilot's job to manoeuvre and position the helicopter in a way that gives Petrovich a proper line-of-sight to the target. By the time I spotted them (they are not easy to find), I was already pretty close and I managed to destroy 3 M-113s on the first pass. I had to come around for the last one, since it moved and was obstructed by smoke. I then approached from the opposite end, but Petrovich said: "target obstructed, need a different angle" so I broke off again and attacked from the side. This time I got the last M-113.
  14. There is a setting in the DCS menu somewhere that’s a leftover from the LOMAC days, that basically does what you describe. It doesn’t really have anything to do with Su-27, nor with SPO-15 since Flaming Cliffs has extremely simplified systems modelling. I don’t know off the top of my head how it’s called (I don’t use it), but there are tooltips explaining every setting so that way you can find it. I'll have a look later when I’m on my PC.
  15. I have track files disabled. I’ll see what happens tomorrow…
  16. Yes, it’s as if the generators can’t provide enough voltage/current for all systems if I turn on anti ice on the ground. The electrical panel has the green light indicating the generators are active, yet the autopilot/dampers refuse to stay on. It’s why I even tried to keep the APU running and turned on the APU generator for good measure, but it didn’t help.
  17. I normally turn them on on the ground too, and never had problems with it before this mission. Because it did give me problems the first time around, I decided to turn them on immediately after gear up, and that’s when I lose an engine. I’ll try one last time tomorrow, but frankly this is getting annoying
  18. You also might have more success if you set the tanker's speed at which RL aircraft refuel at: each aircraft has their own ideal speed where the controls are responsive but not too responsive, and physical limitations such as refuelling doors getting damaged when deployed/retracted above a certain speed. If I remember correctly, an F-16 prefers to refuel at 310-320KIAS, whereas Navy maintainers ask pilots to not deploy the F-18's probe above 275KIAS to avoid damage.
  19. I have a Razer Tartarus V2 next to my trackball. It is fully programmable so I use that for most DCS commands that are there to interact with the game - and not for whichever aircraft you're in: that's where the control panels etc come in. We all have our own solutions. If some people don't mind using a keyboard, good for them.
  20. People had 8 years to figure that out, if it was possible at all. I doubt it's that easy, or we'd have it already. Fixed it for you.
  21. As I said, the MiG-29 9.12A will be the first ED module to have working visors. You can see this for yourself on the footage taken at latest Flight Sim Expo. It's also been confirmed by ED.
  22. This is by design. None of the ED modules have a working sunvisor despite several of their modules having one IRL by default (F-16 and -18, but several levels of tint are available for RL helmets apparently). The later modules all have working animations for raising/lowering the visor without it having any effect. The community has been asking for this for over 8 years now, and ED has always ignored such requests, locked the threads or moved them to a different part of the forum. Now things are changing: the upcoming MiG-29 will have a working visor, and ED have hinted at the technology being ported over to their other modules. This is what they said as a reply to my question on FB for example:
