  1. I am still a student of this. Have you tried reversing the values -1.0 and 1.0? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. It takes coders and artists to make these updates. They don’t work for free! Where does this mentality come from. This one of many examples - I bought Destiny 1 and several paid for DLCs, then I bought Destiny 2 and several paid for DLCs. YOU owe the developers for improved content, new features and better visuals, THEY only owe you for bug fixes and completing an EA module. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. I have been following you and your design. Based on your posts it’s hard to tell too much about the design Are you max6954 chips to address the displays or could they help?
  4. Please, I have tried to respond to you with actionable responses that pass no judgement. Why you take it as a personal attack is a reflection on you not me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  7. Ugh. Forgot the link. https://www.pcgamesn.com/optoma-uhd60-4k-projector Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Speedbird. Here is another article on using the UHD60 for gaming. The setup you started with had short throw projectors and these aren’t so more space mounting would be needed for mounting. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Bob. I was just looking at the Optoma UHD60 and UHD65 specs. They are as clear as mud on native resolution. The site has it listed at 4k@60hz with XPR technology. Can you tell if this one of the fauxK units or would it work for what is being desired here even with limitations? I use an Optoma HD141x in my HT and game on it occasionally on PS4 and it has no visible input lag Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. So you have a couple things going here 4K projectors have remained pretty pricey so even the deepest pockets have likely had trouble convincing our spouses on this level of spending. This setup really can’t do double duty as a home theater. So if you have the cash you get to be the pioneer on this. LOL. Lots of folks want to see you succeed. DCS doesn’t play well with SLI. There is a thread from Aurelius here on creating custom drivers for SLI and VR. A lot of tests were done on performance for DCS with SLI and 1080, 1080ti, 2080 and 2080ti cards. 1080ti gave the best bang for the buck at the time. 2080ti was 35% faster @2x price, but seems to be more designed to to add ray tracing than provide a speed boost. DCS doesn’t have ray tracing support or SLI support. Barnacles on YouTube provided this tutorial on using 3-4K TVs as monitors. It’s a little dated. He was using 2-980ti in SLI. One 1080ti should equal or exceed the capability of the 2-980ti in SLI as that’s what my stepson and saw between our two computers like this. The projectors have to support native 60hz @ 4K, have a game mode and should support UHD color palette. The video has tips on cable HDMI 2.0 min and a suggestion on which DisplayPort to HDMI adapter to use. In this case you will need to ensure you don’t exceed the length limitations on DisplayPort or things will go sideways. Folks that wanted to use the HP Reverb with DisplayPort extension cables found this to be problematic. Just don’t exceed 2 meters and use a single cable. Hope this helps we are all watching and looking forward to your success. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. The first mod link has a picture that captures the issue with over worn text being unreadable on the right side of the panel. The mod solution is nice but takes it a bit too far in the other direction with overly bright labeling. The forum posts also highlights the issue of not passing MP integrity checks and that mods have to be constantly reinstalled. Yeah I have a OVGME but it is still a PITA doing the dance every week or two. So a developer based solution via an update seems to be the more permanent solution. Hopefully there is a middle ground that will allow those that like worn to mesh with those of us looking for more readability. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Why do you feel the need to insult your fellow armchair pilots? You do realize that you are one too when you play this sim. Just because you like it as is doesn’t make those of us that want less worn and readable wrong. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Most of the 80% in this thread aren’t speaking up about mere aesthetics, it’s about usability and readability. How do our developers find out what we want from future endeavors - feedback. That’s what’s being offered here. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. I can appreciate the level of artwork that went into what we see. That being said, art is subject to personal interpretation but when it affects function and the learning environment it is distracting. I am sure a fully trained pilot in type has to wear a blindfold and recite each switch and position from memory before sign off. If you can’t read it you can’t memorize and commit it to memory. 15. +1 on cleaner cockpit this looks like it’s headed to pasture after being ignored by maintainers. Wear is one thing, worn out is another. If these textures are causing the FPS drop they should be fixed. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. There is much to be learned from the years of posts related to the original paid module exploration that lead to the development of the free module. Lots of info here to read on the matter. Boeing leaves no money on the table. I found it hard to believe too and I don’t really understand all the rights to intellectual IP as it relates to video game/simulation. Especially given the fact that my tax dollars paid for all of the work that led to the adoption and manufacture of the aircraft. However, reality is that the government /private relationship that creates these aircraft seems to create some interesting ownership/licensing issues when a third party wants to model an aircraft for profit. Much of the A-4E project history is in the Merker thread. When Merker left Hecklack brought it to this thread to make life easier to navigate new questions and announcements. There is no doubt that many would buy a paid A-4, F-4, A-6 .....etc. It just doesn’t appear to be as many as the F-14, F-18 and F-16. It’s a historic niche within our already “small” group of military aviation enthusiasts. I have them all and will buy them all in the future to keep this endeavor going. Even if they just sit in my hangar. The A-4 is awesome as it is and I too wish it had all the bells and whistles.
  17. You are limiting the success of your endeavor by your mind set. Yours can be better and improve on this fabulous example if you put you mind into it. This board has so many different approaches to learn from and people who are extremely generous with their knowledge that are happy to help. You can do it!
  18. One more example of how TM needs to step up their game. Hollow tubes should not be cast, they should be machined. More expensive sure, but the price is already high enough to expect better than plastic and cheap castings. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. The limitations keep it free. SDK access = licensing fees/agreements with ED and the owner of the IP modeled. Previous threads indicate that the fees from the manufacturer of the A4 priced it out of the realm of possibility as a paid module. If you want more fidelity there are plenty of modules available.
  20. No, it’s a free mod.
  21. Turn the cockpit lights on.
  22. One can only hope Virpil and potentially Winwing will provide enough competition to make TM change their ways. They are the epitome of how not to run a business. Poor communication, poor service and nothing new besides rudder pedals for years. Unfortunately flight simulation seems to have taken a back seat to their driving sim business. For years they were the only game in town. Not so anymore.
  23. All of the deficiencies noted in this thread with reverb cabling, stuttering, flickering and displayport bandwidth limitations tend to disprove your singular blame ED position. Twin 4K images offset and optimized to provide 3d 6DOF imaging require a large amount of processing hardware power. Especially for those that think they need 90+ FPS. Is there room for ED improvement, yes, are they working on it, yes. Is it the only thing needing improvement, no. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. It seems that with today’s video cards and cable speeds in order to drive two 4K panels we need one video card per eye, a headset that has two inputs and a specialized driver for DCS. At least until the next gen of cards and cables come out. The GTX 1080 series seems like it came close to doubling the performance of the GTX 980 series. This new RTX series only added 20-25% with ray tracing which is not in DCS. Hopefully the next gen of NV cards will improve frame rate performance for DCS.
  25. Clear as mud description of functionality. If these are going to be delivered within 2 months, how they function should be available for disclosure. 1. Do I have to use proprietary software to assign buttons? 2. Can I program each button/switch function within DCS? 3. Do I have to use the cloud based interface? 4. Will I have full functionality without using the cloud interface?
