Fantastic Jar, counting the days to release!!!

Instrument flying (on steam gauges) takes practice. I'm comfortable flying in most phases of flight without NVGs, AAR and NOE flying being the exceptions. You need to develop a scan between instruments, to detect trends and stop them, on the steam gauges. With practice, it's actually easier than flying with digital displays. Practice, practice, practice. I find the immersion on night flights in the Tomcat to be amazing in VR.

Phantom - entered service in 1960, still serving today in 5 Air Forces. Served in all branches of US service and with 11 different countries. Over 5000 made. Tonka - named after a toy. Served with four countries, still only serving with 2 of them. In service in 1981, less than 1000 made. Phantom phirst :)

There’s an available NATO document online (quick google search) that covers this. 15° or 25° AOB. RV Alpha - “The refuelling anchor pattern is a left-hand racetrack with legs separated by as little as 7 nm for smaller, slower tankers such as the KC-130 and as much as 20 nm for larger, faster tankers. The standard leg length for this pattern is 50 nm.” I can’t picture a real life scenario where tankers are flying around at 2G all the time trying to deliver fuel......

Can you post the script or the miz file here?

[WIP] Jester is just not doing his job in air to ait engagements

Just pretend he’s a USAF WSO, it’ll be more in line :megalol: -
Have you set the bomb’s fusing?

I’ve seen this behaviour before, when my RIO had been in the MP server and flown another mission (as pilot) before I joined the server. He landed, then jumped in as RIO, and got the credits for the kills.

This bug is still an issue, straight to desktop after trying to select a different role.

Control Y...twice I believe... will display that on the bottom in VR. Just going from memory, but it’s a standard keyboard command.

Bumping this one up, as I had the exact same thought today and almost posted another thread on it. I believe it would add immersion to multiplayer, if you were able to place static aircraft into specific parking spots, and then spawn into those static aircraft. They would be placed in the mission editor like client aircraft, but show up on deck (or at an airfield) like a static object until the player spawns into them. The static would disappear, being replaced by the player aircraft.

I think it’s been even longer than that......

wondering if I'm doing something wrong with my CASE 1

3-5000lbs of fuel, and on speed should be 15 units AoA. 10 units is not correct, 12 or 19 units are not correct. Fly it by the book. Max landing weight is somewhere around 54,000, 14,000 on board will definitely put you over that. There is a lot of information in Victory’s thread on how to land this thing correctly, I wouldn’t be trying to reinvent the wheel or listen to incorrect advice on how to fly it. (Like using 5-8 units AoA) -
I had this exact scenario last night in a MP mission. Restarted my computer to make sure nothing was broken. Still doing it, resorted the the F-key menu. All clicking inside the cockpit was fine, just not the radio menu. Oculus Rift.

That’s the manual for the A model. Here’s the same page out of the B manual.

You shouldn’t need to adjust ICLS course, it’s not like a civilian ILS where you need to dial a radial. Just turn it on and follow the steer commands.

MOOSE - Mission Object Oriented Scripting Framework

I’m struggling with the same issue. It would be convenient if spawned aircraft could be made to disappear on landing or parking by a command :VanishOnLand() or :VanishOnEngineShutdown() -
Interesting....I’d like to see this tried in a tail dragger. Pushing the stick forward I’ve never seen referenced in a flight manual. Be a great way to damage nose gear in a tricycle gear aircraft. If you’re going to recommend a technique, referencing a real world application would be good otherwise it’s just bad information. When I was taught to land the 172, we were taught to hold it off as long as possible and never applied forward yoke pressure on rollout. Full aft for sure, never forward. Edit to add. NATOPs manual for the F-14B specifically indicates full AFT stick after touchdown.

This one has driven me to frustration a couple times as well... reported and still not fixed :( https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=233638 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=235019

MOOSE - Mission Object Oriented Scripting Framework
TonyG replied to FlightControl's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
Ive got an air to air training mission for our group where I’m using an F10 menu with SpawnInZone to bring in a variety of air to air threats. Is there a way to get the spawned aircraft to stay in the zone? I tried :PatrolZones() but that doesn’t keep them corralled. I like the flexibility of SpawnInZone to move the spawn zone around with out moving/editing a bunch of waypoints or SearchEngageInZone (through advanced waypoints) but having the AI scatter isn’t ideal either. Suggestions? Edit to add - destroying those same units after they land....I’ve tried :InitCleanup(60) but it just respawns them back in the zone. How do I get them to disappear/destroy? -
Thanks, I had also looked at that, slightly less tedious, but not quite the silver bullet I was hoping for! Thanks Tricky.
-
Yeah, I recognize I can do that. Unfortunately with some of the limitations surrounding the Stennis and multiple aircraft onboard, using more than 1 aircraft in groups isn’t a reasonable suggestion. Now what if I have 5 missions that already have 20 aircraft in it? That’s 1350 frequency changes. So again, is there anyone that can point to how to do this via a settings file to change all the frequencies in the mission?
-
I posted this in the Tomcat forum as well, but hoping someone here may know how to do to. Is there any way to use a settings file to globally change all the presets in the Tomcat? I'd like to align the frequency presets with the existing Hornet ones our Wing uses, without the tedious task of manually editing 35 channels x 20 aircraft in each mission file we use. Thanks in advance!

ICLS mod for Caucasus and NTTR I haven’t tested this with the Tomcat but there’s no reason it shouldn’t work. There’s a similar mod for the Persian Gulf in the mods section of the forum.
