  1. Reported. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=213124 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=245759
  2. Wrong...just hit U again. It unhooks you from the cat.
  3. This is a good read on night landings and fuel issues. https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/3559/how-to-land-a-fighter-on-an-aircraft-carrier-on-a-stormy-night
  4. If it’s blue water ops (no land within reach), they’ll have a pre-briefed bingo state, at that they’ll head to the bingo tanker overhead the carrier. Worse case will be rigging the barrier. If they’re within range of shore, they may get sent to an airfield depending on the circumstances....foul deck, multiple bolter’s, etc. They’ll have a bingo to the field number as well, if they hit that, they’ll be sent to the field. The CATCC will keep track of the fuel states based on the aircraft call in, and will bingo an aircraft to the tanker or the field if it hits bingo state.
  5. As such, Heatblur should just do it. All the reasons ED is quicker with the Viper align with why HB would be quicker with the Phantom.
  6. Aside from mission design and testing, exclusively multiplayer. We have our own servers and it’s way more dynamic flying with other humans. Even my own practice is online because of data logging and LSO grading outputs.
  7. Fun times, managed a 71 tonite. Great little mission
  8. From someone who’s flown both. https://fightersweep.com/2378/hornet-vs-viper-part-four/
  9. In the book Black Aces High, they talk about VF-41 operating the Tomcat (A model, but with LANTIRN) during Operation Allied Force (Kosovo 1999). They mention that squadron officers had purchased off the shelf Garmin handheld GPS units and they flew with them to help them with navigation.
  10. I saw AI aircraft rotating on all three axis in our server two days ago. First time I’ve seen that behaviour. I also got a timed out disconnection, which was the first time ever on this server which I’ve been flying on for months. I do a significant portion of the mission design so I can attest there was no changes to the mission, the only change being the most recent OB update. Dedicated server.
  11. Any update? I made ace in a day after landing my carrier launched aircraft at Al Minhad. I took out 5 aircraft going through their startup checks, them in the revetments, me still rolling out on the runway. I was not popular with the group on multiplayer yesterday.....
  12. To add to my post. More natural wind, less carrier speed, less right drift and course correction needed. Less natural wind, more carrier speed, more the carrier is moving away to the right necessitating corrections to keep aligned. We like to keep some changing variables in our server so guys don’t get too accustomed to the same solution everytime. Changing wind speed/direction or putting in dynamic weather has kept it fresh for us and made our debriefs fun. As such, having Airboss drive the carrier speed and direction keeps our mission planning simple.
  13. I use the Airboss script with MOOSE, it takes care of the calculations and turns the carrier to get the wind down the angle at what I want. This way it can handle variations in dynamic weather instead of just dealing with static weather. Fantastic addition to DCS. Airboss
  14. Did you download the development branch of Moose?
  15. Eye candy is great, but if the overall immersion is broken (like it currently is), what’s the point? There’s freeware deck crew, great freeware marshal/Lso scripts, but I want to be able to have our entire squadron man up on deck together, start up and taxi as required to take off. I don’t want the hassle of multiple aircraft carriers, trying to work with multiple frequencies and tacans, multiple marshal holds the headache that causes in mission design. If I’m going to pay, probably $50 usd for an aircraft carrier, I want it to work properly, and that’s what others are saying. We’ve been giving feedback on bugs in the carrier environment to ED for months, we haven’t heard anything and now we’re expecting all is fixed, just pay more money? No....I’d like to hear some more about how they’ve tackled the bugs and problems that have been brought up regularly that haven’t been addressed.
  16. I haven’t video’d it, but I’ve had this exact scenario pop up twice this week. Station 2 and 8 with two GBU-38s each. I’ve gone through and visually confirmed the TGT coordinates are all unique, but only get 3 kills out of 4. TOO to PP1 then PP2 on one station then repeat for the other station.
  17. I think the better solution would be to allow more than 3 names for the tankers and let us set up multiple refueling tracks with dissimilar refueling aircraft. KC-46 KC-10 MRTT
  18. Order they are on the UFC, which trips me up as a I do a lot of data entry for work. I just remind myself to look at the ufc when I’m doing it ;)
  19. Our squadron would be over the moon with an updated plat overlay....many thanks Jar. I also sent you a PM a bit ago if you haven’t noticed it.
  20. Good to see some Stinger video up again Jar.....have you got the plat cam position sorted out now and will you be sharing the image file again?
  21. Case II should be identical to I as it’s a visual pattern. Stay dirty, turn to BRC when definite climb has been established, climb to 600’, turn downwind when there’s space in the pattern. CASE III is climb out on final bearing out to 4 NM and 1200’ , or as directed by ATC, then turn downwind, reenter pattern.
  22. Just as with the wings folded up, the Hornet should be hot started with the lights off when on the carrier deck. This is especially noticeable at night.
  23. Must be stealth capabilities...
  24. You would need the approach plate. This is the approach plate for the HI TCN 21L at Nellis. You can fly this in game as the tacan is already there. You’ll need to pay close attention to the descent rates and the distances to the tacan at each step of the approach. https://aeronav.faa.gov/d-tpp/1908/00227HTZ21L.PDF Airnav.com has the US airports. Without tacan, you’d have to figure out how to get below the clouds and acquire the field visually, basically scud running.
  25. Fantastic skins! Any chance of modding the VMFA-314 skins to an NG tail code to represent the CVW-9 deployment with the Stennis in 2000? Thanks!
