  1. The slap switch (big red button above throttle) is the "oh crap moment" switch. Best used when the stuff has really hit the fan, problem being it dumps it all.
  2. Well he should be a 2-star Admiral by now, and Admirals fly desk...so yes he should be flying a desk.
  3. Select Firmware: https://support.thrustmaster.com/en/product/hotaswarthog-en/
  4. Not really that odd, it's a training configuration with CATMs.
  5. How old is the unit? Still under warrant? Button issues won't typically be resolved with a calibration. However, if you opened the unit for some reason; mods, etc, you could have pinched a wire, and that would give you issues with failures.
  6. If the shaft rotates any point beyond a few degrees, then the internal mechanism is likely busted. I don't know if there is a fix for that. Been a minute since I had my base open, can't recall what prevents any yaw motion.
  7. I've been quiet after my initial issues, but that is for good reasons. I have no complaints after 4 flights. Takes a little getting use to the concept, but I'm enjoying their use so far.
  8. That’s why I like the Have Glass schemes, looks a little meaner.
  9. Real Simulator is a good company, they will work with you in that scenario. Just reach out to them if you haven't.
  10. A few things I noted on my first flights: Tanker needs the speed increased, very difficult to connect at 180 indicated. A pre-vul tank on the tanker to the west prompts harassment from the AI wingman about being off course, and should turn for GARTH.
  11. I'm leaning towards a holiday gift as well.
  12. Windows likes to be the know it all on how to operate better than you want.. For me it was one device the rift sensor that was the issue. Did exactly as you described, and no amount of uninstalling fixed it. It is frustrating...
  13. Open the assign window by double clicking under the HOTAS Stick, then select JOY_BTN6 from the dropdown. Other option is to squeeze trigger through detent 1, and then double click the block. Then squeeze the trigger to activate the second detent.
  14. I’m not near a pc with DCS so I’m not positive I have the below in the right order, especially after Config, but you should get the idea: <Your User Profile>/Saved Games/DCS/Config/Input/Aircraft/Keyboard Then once in game, you select the profile by loading it.
  15. How I operate them; heels on the floor for normal flight operation, where my ball of my foot rest on the lower portion of the pedal to operate the rudder axis. When I need to operate the wheel brakes, I lift my feet up to actuate the brakes by pivoting with the ankle to send the toes toward the ground. I find that if I leave my feet on the pedals at all times, I get unwarranted rudder commands, and I fly precision aerobatics a lot so unwanted controls is not good. The heels are a great anchor point that prevents accidental rudder input. If you find that the pedals are hard to control with heels on the floor, I recommend adjusting the angle of the pedal. Keep in mind, the tiny screws securing the pedals are easily striped out, so don't over tighten them, that type of screw probably isn't even rated for 50 inch pounds of torque (too lazy to look it up). Just needs a slight more than finger tight to secure them.
  16. There are a several testers trying to sort out the captoglove, myself included. Don't really have any thing to report yet, but we are grinding at it.
  17. I’ll give that a go. I suspect that it may be a conflict with one of the other 4-5 things in the export.lua that I run. Probably should clean that up a little, as some of those toys aren’t used to the fullest anymore e.g. cdu export for iOS, raygun as its not compatible with the hornet, etc.
  18. Proper use of these type of pedals, is heels on the floor.
  19. No errors but still having issues with it timing out with no idea why.
  20. Did you use Windows Calibration? If so, you need to reset the calibration in Device Properties, and never use that again. If you didn't, I recommend uninstalling the drivers and attempting another install. TPR out of the box should reach max deflection value at physical max deflection. Should be 50% at 50% deflection, and 0% when off the pedal.
  21. Yes, after that very important system reboot all is well.
  22. Good old pc reboot solved the issue. I thought I rebooted after firmware update, but maybe I didn't. Either way it is resolved, sorry for the false alarm.
  23. Yes, center window ( have two stacked monitors) Yes, cursor adjusted. Yes, working with latest manual.
  24. Rebooted PC, resolved. I'm at step 13, where you point to confirm pointer placement and I'm stuck. 3 times I have gone through the calibration steps, and each time and step 13 the cursor is at my extreme left or top FOV of the cv1. I can barely see it and it doesn't appear to change its placement to the next placement. :helpsmilie:
  25. Doesn't take much, just tell it how much you want to offset, apply, save, and then run the profile.
