Yeah I just searched my Gmail inbox for Viacom and they showed up. Gotta keep them somewhere else too in case those emails ever get deleted.

Use your registration info. Mine worked fine when I reinstalled the new one. You don't need to reinstall you basically just copy the folder and overwrite the old one, update the keywords database after reloading the profile.

Yeah these should be the same. Some people prefer the in game PD as it may be smoother.

Sounds exciting despite my hated efforts to refuel in the harrier. I am guessing the "other" one in the PG would be the F18 since the tomcat isn't out yet :)

That's helpful! I was trying to focus on multiple things. The buildings are the first thing is I can get to. I figured out where the convoy is coming from so I should be able to get them.

Been trying to pass this one for over a week. Each time I get a little closer but my wingman does some stupid stuff or he ejects. A few times when I ask him to engage air defenses he says he is going to but ends up attacking I don't know what as the sams are still a threat. This time I asked him to engage ground targets with guided bombs and he got one building while I got the other two. Then I asked him to engage air defenses with missile and he ejected. For success what are the main threats? I tried taking out the convoy but lost track with the tgp when attempting a run through with the Maverick. I soon got shot down. I've seen some videos on YouTube and I've tried to follow along but in those videos the wingman is actually helpful. Are the trucks and buildings the two things I should just focus on or is there a trick somewhere I am missing? I'm using mark points to Mark echo 2 which is very helpful but each time I try to give it a go something else happens where wingman either doesn't listen or is constantly attacking targets without hitting anything.

Ah I figured it would be a new one. I'd always need to use it until I had the sequence memorized. But you don't necessarily need to follow the assisted startup each time. I'm one of those that would so a new profile for it is nice.

I have got mine all set up again after not using it for a while. I notice every time I start voice attack in admin mode, or regular mode for that matter, it says the keywords have been updated and that I should update the database. So I do that every time. I have dcs installed on a different drive than C and I've set the path in the voice attack configuration section. It reads the install without issues. Just wondering if that message that comes up every time is something to worry about?

Like whats deal with these coordinates?
sze5003 replied to GazAce's topic in A-10C The Enemy Within Campaign 3.0
No worries always happy to help. The hog will always be close to me as that's the first module I got and well what I actually wanted to fly before the Air Force told me my vision isn't good enough lol. I don't know about the Z mark point feature and I'll have to look that up because acquiring the targets on the move has been a bit of a challenge for me in DCS especially with VR. Passed mission 5 today and loving the campaign. Really glad it got remade into this latest version because it just feels much more alive and interactive. -
Like whats deal with these coordinates?
sze5003 replied to GazAce's topic in A-10C The Enemy Within Campaign 3.0
I've used 38T for missions 3-4 and am now on five. These coordinates are easier to enter when you are flying. Just set path hold in a 20 degree orbit and enter the coordinates in the cdu. What I like to do is set the cdu to display the waypoints page then I enter a name for my new waypoint. Then I press the button with a number for example 10? next to it(right side of cdu) and it will move up to the next waypoint for example in this case it will show '11?' which means your waypoint that you will be navigating to is at waypoint 10. I then make sure I'm in lat long mode, usually on bottom right side of the cdu you can select lat long or GPRS. 38T is the grid and you enter this first then hit the button next to it on the left side to change it from 37T to 38T. I then enter KN1695978 or whatever the jtac or person coordinating with you calls out. Make sure the left knob below the cdu is set to mission and the right knob to other. Then you can change waypoints on the HUD to the new one you just entered. On these missions your TGP won't see much until you are pretty much over the target or 4-5 miles from it. Mission 3 you won't see the smoke until you are on top of the waypoint because it's in between the mountains. The first time I did it I forgot to change from 37T so I ended up seeing nothing but an empty field. Also, learn mark points and how to set them. Cdu mode should be set to Mark and other knob to Other. You can use your TGP to scroll over targets and hit tms right short to create a markpoint of that target. This way the TGP stays locked on the mark point when you are maneuvering in for an attack as long as you don't slew away. When you are not in mark point mode and using a spi, it seems to break it's lock on the target and often times I've fired or dropped bombs in the wrong area. -
Is TEW Campaign 3.0 the same as the one in Steam?
sze5003 replied to Max_ARG's topic in A-10C The Enemy Within Campaign 3.0
If only DCS had a save at any point in times for the campaigns. I've failed mission 4 now so many times but each time I learn something and next time I try I get a little better. Mostly fail because the wingman doesn't do what I tell him when I can't get a 9 line from the jtac but that's known in DCS AI so no big deal. The campaign is great, it's well packed with a lot of entertainment and quality, that you don't mind playing 2 hr missions. My only complaint is a sore head from my Odyssey headset but no big deal. DCS is great because of people like Baltic I wish all modules had trainings and campaigns like this. $8 is a bargain I would have paid full price again but only because I know it's quality from his previous works. -
If you have the mirage you can do the training missions. The last training missions is an overall prep for the m2000c red flag campaign. I have that campaign but I haven't flown the aircraft since I last tested those missions. Even if you don't feel comfortable in the baguette you can even do the included campaign for the jet which Baltic created as well and is one of my favorites/next best campaign in DCS aside from this one.

Yeah I also wonder the same. I love my JetSeat. I wish I had gotten one of the custom models as the one strap on mine ripped.
-
Until new headsets come out that take advantage of the newer gpu's and dcs becomes more VR optimized, I think a 1080ti or 2080 should be enough for now.

There is also lenses for the Odyssey: https://widmovr.com/product/odyssey-prescription-lens-adapters/ I'm going to order them today after my eye exam. I always wear my contacts when using the Odyssey but sometimes it's tough because my eyes get dry. I have a rift as well and prefer the readability and crispness of the Odyssey. Running high settings with PD of 2.0 sometimes and no issues, it's pretty smooth, no msaa. Much better visual quality compared to the rift.

Mission 4 are the first Outpost coordinates correct?
sze5003 replied to Sebakogu's topic in Bugs and Problems
What I noticed is after you put coordinates in you will see just mountain and trees. So you just have to fly to those coordinates and when you are over the area you should see the Outpost. At that point you can just orbit and pick off the targets. Lots of terrain masking the tgp so at first it may be difficult to see where you are supposed to go. Also make sure to take out the AAA first. I got shot down by mowing down the 4 trucks first then going after the triple A. I asked wingman to take out the air defense but he just kept saying running in and flying above the post. -
Can't wait for the A10C updates. I just started enemy within 3.0 and I fly in VR so I would love to see the A10C cockpit get some updates so that it's easier to read. I use the Odyssey and the fials and button in the F18 are crystal clear and I'm using a PD of 2.0 too yet the writing in the A10 is difficult to see still.

Ok makes sense. My mistake I guess was placing overlord's coordinates in. I had to navigate until basically over the location before I was able to see the smoke and enemies. Also, I like that you have put the coordinates in the F10 menu. Edit: Passed it, was able to ID and destroy targets although I don't think I got all of them. I got the btr and two fuel trucks and a bunch of soldiers. I ended up with a 88 score which I guessed I would get. Having a lot of fun in this campaign and these are some long missions.
-
Ah thanks for that. I could have sworn I tried 4518 but just saw a flat area with buildings. I'll try again. I was scrambling since I play in VR and by the time I didn't see anything from the coordinates I punched in from wingman, i decided to try the coordinates that I heard back from overlord on the confirmation call which were different probably due to a typo or something.

Hey! Loving the campaign so far! When we reach waypoint 7 or 8 we are told there is fire and smoke at our 2 o clock but I'm not seeing anything around those mountains. I have chimney smoke set to 3 in settings. Civ traffic off. The coordinates from the F10 menu say KN 9444512 but overlord reads back 944 452. I checked both but was not able to see any troops or BTR's in the area. I'm seeing a flat area with several small buildings and what looks like a river in the area. The buildings looks like small garages and warehouses. Not sure which coordinates should be the right ones.

I was a bit confused about the navigation as well. Many times the pilot seems to go straight and then veer right or left a few times. I thought he was trying to align the NDB line on the instrument panel but that didn't seem to be the case. Maybe a small description of what we should be paying attention to on that instrument would be helpful. I know the line points toward the station frequency, but are you suppose to follow it or fly a course to it so that you intersect it at some point? Since this plane doesn't seem to have a lot of need for many hotas commands maybe mapping some of those to the kneeboard to see the waypoints will be helpful, specifically in VR.

Red Flag Training Missions - F/A-18C
sze5003 replied to beppe_goodoldrebel's topic in User Created Missions General
Check your controls, it must be bound to something else. Either in an external program that interacts with dcs or within DC's itself. -
Which pedals the tfrp or the new $500 ones?

I also have a mcg pro grip and what I do is use the warthog slew mouse and I've assigned the tdc depress to the down press function of the 5 way thumb button on the mcg pro. I imagine this works as long as you hold that button down and slew. I don't use any of the other hats on the grip to slew since the stick is very sensitive to movements and it throws me off my flight path if I do.

It's not. I just remembered watching one of the preview videos on YouTube, either spudknockers or magz and one of them mentioned due out by the end of January.
