  1. ED hasn't announced anything about a Super bug for buddy refueling, but they are updating the S-3 model. It will fill the role nicely.
  2. In reality, maybe, but you don't lose depth perception in the sim.
  3. Night Vision Goggles.
  4. Here is the mission as promised. Just a warning. The static model for the new hornet eats frames like crazy so I have the hornets on deck set for the old model until it gets sorted out. Carrier Practice.miz
  5. Sorry folks, I misread the patch notes and the "ME added static template" had me thinking the carrier overlay was back. I will upload my mission with the carrier set up with statics to this post in a few hours. It's only on the Caucasus map right now but should give you a good idea how things should be placed.
  6. I placed 20 on deck. Took me about two hours of tweaking to get all of them down. I'm pretty sure the template made it into this update. When in the mission editor if you click on the SAT button on the bottom of the screen it should give you a picture from the top down to make placement easier. I can't confirm right now since I'm at work, but can once I get home.
  7. Not very, at least not in the near future, maybe in a few years if ED decides to do it. It's a little more complicated than slapping a second seat in and stretching the model to fit unfortunately.
  8. Sorry, Giz. That was an answer to Hawk's question about the plugs and such. If it isn't an option in the radio menu under ground crew, then I would check the controls menu to see if there is a key bind that you may have pressed accidentally to drop the ladder. It may also be included as part of the chalks request. but I haven't messed with it too much so i'm honestly not sure.
  9. In the mission editor set the hornet down as a static object, or check the uncontrolled box in the unit editor. You should have the chalks, pitot covers (if modeled), and engine/exhaust plugs on the aircraft.
  10. Those are "high visibility" liveries. Usually reserved for the CO and XO of the respective squadrons and also known as CAG aircraft. The tradition goes waaaayyyy back so if you would like a detailed explanation look for CAG bird online and it will take you to the right place.
  11. Not just tomorrow, but the rest of the week too. :music_whistling::joystick::pilotfly:
  12. I don't agree with most about DS being a bad thing. Honestly I think most of the negativity regarding DS right now is the community's lack of choice in the matter. I currently run the open beta so my experience may differ from yours but I find the night environment much better than before with DS on. Even with the dimmed city lights. I'm very curious now that the Persian gulf map is out to test the new night lighting. I don't notice the mura issues people are describing either. Currently I have my Gamma set to 1.6 I believe and for me at least, it strikes the right balance between night and day.
  13. Unfortunately if you want to run with DS off, that is the night environment you will have to deal with in VR :(
  14. Since these threads seem to be popular among new modules (and because i'm stuck at work) I figured it would be nice to have a place to post screenshots for the new map. Post away and entertain us!
  15. I don't think that it's the sim. I'm fairly confident Razbam used the same glass texture (material?) for the HUD as the canopy. It would also explain how there are scratches all over the HUD glass too, instead of just the canopy. That might be causing the issue.
  16. I'm afraid it is done. We could go on and on about the merits and faults of the search function but this isn't the place. I for one, don't want to invoke the wrath of the Moderators for continuing an off topic discussion in a thread about the disc size of the Persian Gulf Map. It isn't fair to the OP to have his topic locked because of it. Peace.
  17. I did, "persian gulf map size" as the key words. The earlier referenced post was in the top 7 results that came up after this thread was created. If this thread hadn't been created it would have been in the top six. The search tool is very powerful in this Forum. It's also why so many people mention it in repeat threads. But we are getting off topic. The OP's question was answered so it's a non-issue now. :)
  18.
  19. Section 4 (guidelines) of the forums rules states: 4.2 Before creating a new thread, use the Search function to check if the subject has already been covered. Typically, better search results can be achieved via the Advanced Search function. Not trying to pick a fight, but here is the answer to your question.
  20. Auto = CCRP
  21. Damnit Jim it's a trailer, not an in depth study! :) Super excited as well. I'm sure we will have all these answers and more questions on the 30th. But, in the mean time... Chocks are historically a radio controlled option or added to the cold/dark state of uncontrolled aircraft of those that have the option. Auto = CCRP in the Hornet. AIM9 Uses a proximity sensor to detonate if it determines that target is moving away from it, warhead is a fragmentation warhead. Launches are made using the old FC3 coding, just increase throttle and go (at least in the press release it is). The rest of your carrier questions are TBD until we get more info on the paid carrier module. CDU: In a way yes, Wags made a video about it in his academic series. JTAC capabilities will be added after the EA release. :joystick: :pilotfly:
  22. As far as I understood it was only two of them but, they have a viewer base and any press is good press. But I digress, I'll be happy and more productive at work once it releases. I'm not getting much done there anyway hovering around the forums all day :)
  23. Even if it isn't this Friday, I'll be happy with the 25th. Memorial day weekend for us in the US equals one extra day of Hornet fun on the 28th :)
  24. Ok, so as promised i'm back :). My current setup has my gun trigger mapped as the Pilot weapons release/machine gun trigger. Maybe that might help?
  25. A buddy of mine and I have flown the Huey recently and haven't had this issue manifest itself yet. I'll have to check and see what I have my trigger for the guns mapped too after I get home from work. I'll report back unless someone else has the answer for you before then.
