[AS INTENDED] CAT Take-off instructions removed?
Repth replied to ataribaby's topic in Bugs and Problems
Who, exactly, decided that it wasn't useful for players? A small group of closed beta testers? Do they speak for the entire community? The message was a perfect stop gap until they could determine if plane directors are even feasible. Sure it's a "planned" feature, but what happens if it never surfaces? I'm normally very supportive of ED and I understand this is EA, but this makes me think we will never see any form of improved ATC (and yes that includes ground or deck handling) in DCS. In the end people will just do whatever they want right? Why even waste the resources? -
Learned something new about carrier traps :). Thanks GB. Soo... don't listen to me Nealius ;)

Use your rudder to adjust your crab angle just before touchdown.

[AS INTENDED] CAT Take-off instructions removed?
Repth replied to ataribaby's topic in Bugs and Problems
I'm sorry, but in my opinion the logic behind this decision is flawed. The carrier environment is tightly controlled and heavily coordinated for a reason. You do not want aircraft moving wherever they want on the deck while other aircraft are in the process of launch and recovery. Not everyone online uses voice chat (SRS or default) and not everyone speaks the same language either. Online squadrons or groups would have to pull someone out of aircraft to control the area, possibly excluding them from flying with everyone, or being forced to design missions around the need to have a controller directing traffic so that everyone can participate. I know that I will probably not be able to change ED's mind about this decision, but I hope they will at least consider adding the option for us to use this if we want a more realistic option. -

No problem, glad you were able to get it sorted out :) -

[AS INTENDED] CAT Take-off instructions removed?

Can't say I understand why that was removed. Wasn't part of the super carrier supposed to be more realistic and updated ATC? I can't imagine that the Navy allows its pilots to wander willy nilly around the deck (I know it's a game; before all of you descend on me like hawks for suggesting realism or something resembling it). I wonder if that is also linked to what is causing the AI pathing issues that were reported in another thread? Oh well I guess. -

Looks on in the video. Only other option would be to check your brake axis in settings. You may need to invert that depending on the pedals you use, if any. -

Your Anti Skid is on. That needs to be off when landing on the carrier. -
Kaspersky Internet Security problem with edCore.dll
Repth replied to Toastman's topic in General Bugs
Kaspersky is notorious for not liking ED files. The exception is all you can do until Kaspersky updates their database. -
This usually means that the server owners have not updated to the new version yet. Give it some time.

Obligatory Screen shot thread. I can't wait to see what you guys come up with. Let's see those screenshots!

No Problem at all :). I agree with you. I want them take the time needed to get the A-7 as complete as possible. I'm looking forward to this one.

It was this thread and here is your answer. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4227398&postcount=128 That being said it's a "hope" and not a promise. It would be awesome, but they can take as long as they need as far as I'm concerned.

I doubt it was meant to deceive. They probably started the post on that date and added information to it as it became available. If it were me, I would have written everything down on a word document and copy/pasted it into the forum on the correct date and added images, made corrections, etc. But....that's just me. I have made it a habit to check there throughout the day on Friday since I don't subscribe to the news letter.

It's there in weekend news. It's just backdated to May 1st. Date on the letter is May 8th. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4321763&postcount=252

Sorry Simon, I didn't get a chance to fly last night. The attached are the missions you asked for. I didn't have any issues controlling the aircraft. Sounds like it might be a controller issue. Maybe check what keys you have bound to your trim in the plane. It might be fighting your inputs.

27,500 RPM?! No wonder she is climbing like a banshee (kidding ;)). I'll have to test when I get home from work. Have you tried starting from the ground? Does that give you the same issue?
-
Other than that I would check your aircraft's config in flight. Flaps up? What RPM and Boost are you cruising at? She is quite the rocket ship due to the large wing area. You should be around 25-2600 rpm and no more than 4-6 on the boost gauge in cruise (if i remember correctly).

Hi Simon, Welcome to the Forums! This sound like an Axis issue. I would first check to make sure that you have no conflicting axis assignments. The next thing I would check is that your X-52's drivers are up to date and that the configuration software for the device is not causing any issues. if you could post a screenshot of your control set up and your control indicator It might help.

Ok ED, I scored both the DCS and Eagle Dynamics jackpot, now what do I win? :D
-
There is only one aircraft in DCS that uses nukes and that is the 21 bis. there is no support for a proper simulation (it acts as an overpowered Mk84) and ED has shown no interest in ever developing them in the sim. I highly doubt they are on FlyingIron's priority list for the A7.
-
This will be essential for the upcoming Dynamic campaign as logistic and resupply vehicles/vessels are more than valid targets when winning wars/engagements and often targeted early on vs combat targets. There is an old proverb, slightly dated, but the meaning is just as relevant: For want of a nail the shoe was lost. For want of a shoe the horse was lost. For want of a horse the rider was lost. For want of a rider the message was lost. For want of a message the battle was lost. For want of a battle the kingdom was lost. +100 for this request on all sides. There can be no combat without supplies. And the airfields already have some of this infrastructure in place in the form of ammo and fuel.

Amazing news, even if it was accidental. Can't wait to test it!

Multi crew has been unstable in the Gazelle for years now as side by side cockpit controls are difficult to sync between crew members. This is part of the reason why the Huey and Hip do not have their promised multi crew functionality as well. It's also the reason why the TV sensor goes wonky in multi crew, since the Gazelle is trying to sync the image with both pilot and commander positions. I would avoid it altogether until ED has a chance to sort out the multi crew in the sim. Give Polychop some time to implement it after ED is done as they are not actively supporting it at this time. Hope that helps.
