  1. It's true, and it would be better to have it all, but unless you're building a home cockpit replica, I don't really see a show stopper to fly & fight.

    M-2000c on BlueFlag

Yes, AdA would be interested, but don't hold your breath :smilewink:
  3. Right now, you don’t really need the button around the VTB. Once you have mapped all HOTAS controls there isn’t much more you need. Mainly radar panel (PCR), waypoint+/-, seat adjustment, I also have master arm and FBW mode toggle. With that I barely select anything else. PCA Store 2 Select can be handy since it will be you main weapon (AA or AG). But it’s true I don’t really care that much about keyboard shortcuts since I map directly in DCS control menu :smartass:
  4. FPS are so bad right now in 2.5.6 that I don’t think we need to generalise 8K textures. What is it good for when you’re flying & fighting ? People are always craving for more polys and bigger textures, then it ends up Power Point slides show !!! :(
  5. And yet some French people complain that the training doesn’t have French voices :megalol:
  6. Check Options/ Various/ Display Pilot body (when available) Sorry if it isn’t exactly that, my DCS is in French :smilewink: And yes it’s default command Right Shift + P.
  7. You can lower the brightness with the rotary at the top of MPCD, which help for contrast if you keep moving map. Overwise you can go into HSI mode by hiding the map, with "MODE" on OSB 3 from memory (middle left) :smilewink: Like over people = HSI/ SA depending on situation.
  8. Yes, there is specific FBW gain for landing, but this is done automatically with gear down :smilewink: You're right for the rest, slats in (automatic) and no air brakes before touch down. Mirage 2000C was at good level from mid-80' to mid-90'. But when Fox 3 were widespread, it became out-classed. Being Fox 1 shooter in Fox 3 world is difficult :music_whistling: From 1997-1999 the Mirage 2000-5F took over the role of front line ai defense. Fox 3 on Mirage 2000...I hope will get it, but it's another story :smilewink:
  9. No, Mirage 2000 went into service after F-16A and around the same time as F/A-18A :smilewink: The only interest I see, is that in IFR flight, when you perform long final, you don't have to fly all the way through with landing gear down. You can display landing mode in the HUD with ILS, and slow down later to lower landing gear.
  10. Yes, that's like the HOTAS of the Mirage 2000C RDM manual you can find on the web: gun trigger + BRM button on the stick (Bomb Rocket Missile)
  11. Old video, but still cool to watch
  12. Landing is super easy. Landing AoA is 14°. You just have to select APP mode on PCA and you will get AoA bracket in the HUD. Put the velocity vector in the middle. You also have chevron to tell you if you are accelerating, slowing down or stable. No air brakes on final, with this AoA, the wing is your air brake. >] -O- [< When you select APP mode don't forget to rise the seat to have proper field of view for lading. Auto pilot is also super convenient to trim the aircraft, and it's standard procedure on this bird. You can activate AP and turn/ climb through trim command on the stick. You can take control to make change manually with AP SBY then release it. It's a bit late, I'll try to make a video tomorrow :smilewink:
  13. IRL, this is a 3 position paddle on the throttle front face. Middle is PCA select, right is gun, left is Magic 2.
  14. I don’t think you would loose the lock if you activated MAV mode. Sorry, I can’t test, no 3 positions switch on my HOTAS.
  15. Yes, this is just that the new repeater isn't compatible with the old UHF radio. But it's still in use and working.
  16. Trop what you say, the PCA top line is in AA gun mode. This override any other mode. I don't know why you would be in AA gun mode in AG tutorial, but you must do CNM Neutral before returning to AG :smilewink: [Edit] didn't saw Steph21 answer before posting :D

    ARBS

Send them your piece of code or show your demo, maybe they will hire you :smilewink:
  18. That's the kind of thing that would stay the same across all Mirage 2000 variants. The weapon system change, but they airframe, engine, fly by wire, fuel system stay pretty much the same. :smilewink: They all learn on Mirage 2000B which is a twin seat Mirage 2000C, then pilots fly solo on Mirage 2000C, even those who will go on Mirage 2000D.
  19. Silly remark but who knows ? - set PPA any time you want, no factor (NB at least 1 and fuze) - select BF on PCA - select options (ranging) on top line. Primary mode is TAS (radar ranging with RDI). Then 2 options: - return to NAV with Weapon SystemCMD AFT. - go into attack mode with Weapon SystemCMD FWD. - Master arm on.
  20. To be able to play a naval war between 25 de Mayo with SUE and Skyhawk Vs British Task group would be a wet dream :D And we already have KC-130 to refuel SUE and Skyhawk :smartass:
  21. Strike Eagle and Hornet were both McDonnell Douglas, there has been cross over about weapon systems and radar modes between the two, and I don't think a 1991 Strike Eagle is more advanced than a 2005 Hornet. Your smoke system seems mostly optimised for ground battle and sub-optimal for attacks from above. And yes, I know about that kind of stuff.
  22. Correct video link :smilewink: Yes, painful elevation bug, it has been there for a while :(
  23. After the last open beta patch on April 16th the PCA and HOTAS commands seem to work just fine. AG weapons and 530 are selected on PCA. AG gun has a dedicated button labelled CAS (Canon Air Sol). Air to air gun (CAN) and Magic 2 (MAG) are selected through HOTAS commands to fight (CNM). CAN & MAG override current weapon selected. CNM Neutral does return to previous weapon selected. When you select AG weapon, including CAS (AG gun), your HUD stay in current mode, your PPA top line allows you to select options, then: - you must go into attack mode with Weapon SystemCMD FWD. - you return to previous mode (most likely NAV) with Weapon SystemCMD AFT. The AG weapon stay selected, and you can go directly into attack mode with Weapon SystemCMD FWD any time as long as AG weapon is selected on PCA. So Weapon SystemCMD and CNM are very handy to have on HOTAS. If you take off for AG mission, AG weapon, fuel tank and Magic, you can prepare PPA and PCA before take off. Once in target area you just have to go into attack mode and flip on master arm. If you came across any AA threat, you use CNM to go into MAG or CAS, then return to NAV or AG with CNM Neutral. While you are in CAN or MAG, Weapon SystemCMD will activate AA close combat radar mode that would lock targets out to 10Nm.
